What a completely idiotic statement. Releasing murderers from jail is a total breach of the rule of law. It creates a real and major threat of future crime, both because those same murderers would be free to murder again, and because society has lost the deterrent effect that law enforcement is supposed to provide.

And why should Israel allow itself to be blackmailed into releasing prisoners early? Israel stopped building for nine months and what did it get in return? Nothing but less buildings! What concessions did the PA make? It's still teaching hatred of Jews in its schools!

Does anybody in the Middle East understand what the word negotiation means? There's no such thing as a precondition to a negotiation. There's only negotiation. Apparently the negotiation at this time is Israel release murderers in exchange for Palestinians to open a dialogue which they are free to close at any time. If, somehow, anybody feels that is a reasonable exchange, you do it. The entire view that Israel refuses to negotiate by not meeting "preconditions" shows a serious lack of understanding of the term. They simply don't like the offer the other side is making. So the Palestinians need to either lower expectations or accept that negotiations are already at an impasse. Successful or not, that IS the current negotiation.
