Its not his job to pick the next chief Rabbi. There are people who have the job to elect the chief Rabbi and Weinstein is free to try and become one of those people. One man should not and under the law does not have the right to decide who is or is not a good choice for the position of Chief Rabbi. How would people feel if a haredi AG ruled that Religious Zionists could not be Chief Rabbi. What if the AG ruled Livni was unfit to be justice minister? Folks you don't like who becomes Chief Rabbi vote out the people who put him there. Vote in a new Prime Minister who will introduce laws to change the process.
