Harry Wright ,   UK   (07.06.13)
Obama loves them because he thinks they are "moderate" and can fit into his world view of democracy because the ones surrounding him & advising him are tying up his head with all manner of nonsense, lies and deceptions (actually, they are like 2 peas in a pod). The MB wants to "set Egypt on fire". That is their idea of being moderate. Then they have the gall to talk about "democracy". They used ONE democratic PROCESS, but to race towards undemocratic theocracy. Voting is a process and is just one part of the whole picture. Democracy is an ideology - a way of thinking and doing things - an embrace of the principles of equality, fairness, justice, freedom of expression, personal choice, a recognition of human rights. A country can be called democratic when there are systems in place to ensure those principles No where and no way can Morsi be considered democratic on the basis of a voting process. Morsi had the chance to take each principle, shape it and cobble them all together, but no, he wanted an Islamic state, the very opposite of a democracy and the twain shall never meet. They are as good as the north and south poles, miles away from each other and with opposite charges.

6. Now theres a backbone 'respect' to him
Volvi   (07.06.13)
if only we had a chief of staff of that calibre who would have stood up to our traitorous leaders and politicians and protect our people from being driven from their homes and bringing our country to the precipice of the abyss. But being lackeys of the Left that could never happen coupled with a severe shortage of backbone in our top echelon. Our collective backbone ended with Menachem Begin. But I see a new one coming in the name of Moshe Feiglin.
7. hehe.....now there's a wild fantasy scenario, #1!
Cameron ,   USA   (07.06.13)
The Israeli populace would be rioting in the streets, and the military would step into Net's office to arrest him at the very proposal to end the vast and vital American gravy train.

the egyptian army controls 30% of the egyptian economy. saudi and other rich gulf states have promised financial aid to egypt, no strings attached.
10. It's obvious morsi only cares about his Islamic

Ego, power and agenda! He could care less about Egyptian common people and who will die. Hopefully the second round of the revolution will be better for everybody involved.

wrong end of the stick because politicians appear to believe that elections mean democracy. That is only one end of the stick. Egypt had elections but that did not carry it anywhere near democracy. It has not even started on the road to democracy. All the elections did was put an undemocratic, theocratic tyrant in power. So it is pretty stupid and self-defeating to push for elections and "democracy" then have an undemocratic tyrant voted in. That is spinning top in mud. The ME is doomed to live under tyranny and the west should not even attempt to change that. Democracy is alien to them so the west should never even use democracy as a talking point. If the country is wealthy, the tyranny may be benign and if poor, then the people will live under a real heavy yoke. Look at Turkey. Erdogan is putting back the yoke on the people after they had successfully cast it off. Look at the UN. It does not even castigate the tyrannical theocracies for abusing women. The ME is a huge cesspit of religious confusion with glass walls. Try to get out nah!
12. #7 vital?

US aid is only 1.4% of Israel's GDP. Taxes would have to be raised, meaning lots of discomfort, but Israel doesn't depend on America as it once did, and would be able to function quite effectively if American aid were withdrawn.
13. Great general
albert snow ,   sweden   (07.07.13)
The Egyptians got themselves a great general it seems. But he and the new government must stand the pressure from the MB affiliated US/Obama administration and not include the islamists in a democratic process. Islamists has to be fought and islamisim has to be eradicated in the minds of the egyptians if Egypt want to develope to be a democratic state. (The egyptian army can probably learn a lot of how Ataturk did in Turkey.) But if they try to include the islamists in a process for democracy, democracy aspirations will fail and give the MB a new chance to regain power and islamic totaliarism. A bad and weak sign is sadly already appearing when giving after for islamists demands not appointing el-Baradei as PM. The general should instead take Morsis threats serious, because the islamists will do whatever they can to rock the boat if not handled harsh, surpressed and defeated. Time for Egypt to build an own Guantamo for their islamist.
14. Al-Sisi - Morsi Conversation
Ayman Hosny ,   Alexandria - Egypt   (08.02.13)
This is a pure mlitary coup and has nothing to do with the Egyptian as Al-Sisi claimed. Al-Sisi should be trialed for treason. On the other hand Morsi should have listened to the people and called for early elections and by being stubborn he gave the chance and opportunity to the army to jump in again and taking the power.
