1. Utterly Disgusting.
David Clarke ,   Liverpool, England   (07.08.13)
Utterly disgusting, the Israeli police should find and immediately lock up the extremist racist bigots who perpetrate these disgusting crimes. These incidents occur far to often in Israel and the police response is far to slow, there is no excuse for this kind of systematic racist intimidation, by extremists, of ethnic minorities in a civilised country such as Israel, especially against an ordinary peaceful businessman going about their daily lives and employing Arabs or other non-Jews to help boost their business. Perpetrators of these hateful acts need to be punished to the fullest extent of the law by the police.
2. well that's cheery...

3. Bcs of train,Close contact of two enemies has led to this
Rami   (07.08.13)
To a large extent, most of these "revenge attacks," this "racism," started after of light-rail began bringing Arabs (in much higher numbers than before) into western Jerusalem. Close contact of two enemies has led to this. Lets not forget, Arabs have been attacking Jews for decades. Jews are tired of it and don't seem to want to take it anymore!!!
4. So sad....
Ezra ,   San Diego   (07.08.13)
It's so nice when Jew and Arabs get along, but it's sad I don't feel sorry for them after everything they put us through. We should all try to get along....Annex the west bank now :)
5. the alternative is....
Elka ,   Netanya   (07.08.13)
My politics are very right wing. That being said the reported act is disgusting, inappropriate and unnecessary. Yes, there are Arabs working in many many Jewish restaurants. I too may not be thrilled. However, since many Jews refuse to do the job, restaurants have no choice. When Jews are beating down the door to cook and clean then maybe there is an issue. YET, even if that day comes, I'm not 100% sure. We need a Jewish state, but that doesn't mean we can lower ourselves to their level. It is time to remember who we are and what we stand for.
6. Israel using its youth
Claudia   (07.08.13)
to do what the establishment (from Chief Rabbis on down) and 80% of Jewish Israelis want done: push the Arabs out. Why do I say this? I say it because other than a rare critical comment, we haven't seen neither the public nor the establishment show outrage. If this is what Israel is, NO It doesn't have the right to exist.
7. finally someone is taking a stand on cheap labour
moshe ,   new york   (07.08.13)
think this is great. the jewish people in the diaspora want jobs when they come to israel
8. Little fascists
Yossef   (07.08.13)
9. Sure...
(07.08.13)
Sure it will be investigated - by the fathers of the teens doing the crimes!
10. Is the name & location of the restaurant a state secret?
W. Turner ,   Israel   (07.08.13)
Or is this yet another example of less than neat and tidy journalism?
11. Sounds like another "price tag" inside job.
Jake ,   USA   (07.08.13)
It's simple, really. To make Israel look bad, just spray paint a few Arab hate slogans on a wall, and every media outlet will take photos and broadcast it to the world, with a headline like "Death to Arabs" and no evidence to prove who actually did it.
12. Religion strikes again
Haim ,   TA   (07.08.13)
Good old religious types at work again. Some day we will get rid of all this nonsence and outlaw religion. It's at the base of most wars and hatred. The world would be better without it. nationalism mixed with religious fundamentalism remains the primary source of bigotry, hatred and racism in the modern era.

They are the scum of Israeli youth, racist morons.
15. to number 11.. you cannot close your eyes any longer
liron ,   zichron   (07.08.13)
I'm not sure you read the article, but in all likehood the crime was commited by the same group of thugs that have harrased the restaurant previously.
16. 6.
Birdi ,   Israel   (07.08.13)
''Israel does'nt have the right to exist'' you say? Are you privy to every single Israeli newspaper? Have you read every single article? have you spent any time looking for articles about this story? No, you have not. When you know all the facts, then & only then can you sprout your idiotic opinions. Until then,do keep your hands off your keyboard!
17. This story is fishy
Devorah   (07.08.13)
The restaurant was closed at 1:00 a.m., and a cleaning crew was busy destroying the evidence at that hour and before the police arrived? I don't buy it.

19. Forget what I wrote @ #17
Devorah   (07.08.13)
I read the story too fast. The account of what happened is plausible.
20. this is disgusting
sue ,   mevasseret   (07.08.13)
and has to stop.
21. Racist Law Enforcement in Israel
Michael ,   Haifa   (07.08.13)
The evidence is piling up slowly but surely that the Israeli Police, Army, Prosecution and Courts act differentially in dealing with both Jewish and Palestinian thugs.
22. To: No. 1
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.08.13)
Not nearly as disgusting as the way the British turned a blind eye to the wholesale massacre of Jews in Europe, and nowhere near as disgusting as the fact that the British closed off Jewish emigration to Palestine at a time when they most needed a safe haven (which the British consistently refused to provide, whether in the U.K. or anywhere else). Nor is it quite as utterly disgusting as the British imprisoning Jews in concentration camps on Cyprus. You live in a glass house. Best not throw stones. British perfidy is well documented. Yet, most of those responsible were never punished to the fullest extent of the law. And I remind you that there is no statute of limitations on murder. The British are as guilty of the Holocaust as the Nazis. They were willing collaborators. Seems they still are. Have you NO shame?
23. #22
RHarris ,   London   (07.08.13)
Rarely have I read such a hysterical response to the perfectly reasonable comment made in #1. It takes a really twisted brain to take a sentence condemning the ugly graffiti of some anti-Arab racists and make an idiotic and convoluted connection with British behaviour towards Jewish refugees in the late 1940s. The comments in #22 are really the products of a sick, hysterical and psychopathic mind. British perfidy? Get over it, luv. We are in 2012. 'The British as guilty of the Holocaust as the Nazis'??? A n indication that the author of #22 has a mouth full of bile and brain overflowing with gall. Thank goodness the writer of '22 is probably a streetsweeper in Brooklyn and that her comments have been cobbled together from the rubbish (USA: trash) that she sweeps daily into the gutter. I follow the argument to its logical conclusion - which is that not one single person living in Britain has the right to an opinion... the internal logic of #22's argument is squalid, pathetic, a moronic generalisation and no more than a crude expression of the writer's own simmering hatreds, resentments and deficient brain power.
24. To Sarah B, Do you not have shame?.
David Clarke ,   Liverpool, England   (07.08.13)
I think you should be asking that question to yourself Sarah, I was born in Britain and have British citizenship but I am of Irish ethnicity and citizenship as well and I am more than aware of the terrible effects that British imperialism has had on the world historically, particularly during the occupation of my ancient homeland, Ireland, and the transatlantic slave trade and the nefarious British involvement in mandate Palestine in maintaining division and conflict between Palestinians and Jews, and of course Britain's role in India. I am also more than aware of the disgraceful treatment of Jews in Britain throughout history which was appalling, thankfully though allot of these mistakes have been rectified but that is besides the point. I do not need moral lectures about the history of Britain from you. Britain's history does not give you or anybody else the right to daily spew pages and pages of racist hate and bile about your fellow Human beings. These are innocent people that are being attacked, innocent people, yet you seem to think that the mistakes of the past against Jews by other countries now justify the racist attacks in Israel by fanatical nationalistic Jews against innocent Arab civilians trying to go about their daily lives, many of whom who are citizens of Israel like the residents of Abu Ghosh, these people are not Hamas and they are not Suicide Bombers they are innocent and honest Israeli citizens that are targeted for their ethnicity. All you ever do is try and make up excuses for these disgusting price tag fanatics or failing that you think up crazy conspiracy theories about how Arabs deliberately vandalise and destroy their livelihoods all in a grand conspiracy against Israel and Jewish people. You are nothing but a vicious, racist hatemongerer whose views seem closer to Italian Fascism and German Nazism than to the Zionism espoused by Thodor Herzl, whose works, if you actually bothered to read them, advocated Jews and Arabs living together in peace.
25. #24 Well said
RHarris ,   London   (07.08.13)
Beautifully put! I believe the malodorous author of #1 is a lawyer - which is rather difficult to believe as she has a very difficult time sticking to the subject in hand. I would have thought that lawyers understand the concept of punishing the perpetrator rather than he vile concept of mass punishment of a whole population for events that happened before they were born. However, I feel sure that she is going to post a note saying that #2 was written by an imposter - which is what she usually does when her posts are uncovered as crude and raw racism. A lawyer? I wouldn't commission her to sue my shoe-lace.
26. #7 = complete joke
courtney ,   usa   (07.08.13)
as are the actions in this article. i will never consider this my homeland with mindsets like these. disgusting
27. the hardei Jerusalem map
elke ,   usa   (07.08.13)
This is only the tip of the iceberg. In 2011, haredi groups compiled a map of ALL Jerusalem businesses employing Arabs in an attempt to discourage their patronage by Jews. Kind of remind you of the Germans with their "Don't buy from Jews!" campaign, doesn't it?
