Theselfhategoeson ,   Jerusalem Israel   (07.08.13)
No other people shoot themselves in the feet like the Israelis these future Journalists will be forever our enemies Thank you Ir Amim and Israeli government and Hebrew U all Paid for employees of the suffering Israeli taxpayer that made these future enemies possible.
2. A tour of deception
Shmilfke ,   Haifa   (07.08.13)
Boo hoo, the barrier means that Palestinians need to get a permit to cross into Israel. Such a human rights disgrace! So what if ONCE IN A WHILE a suicide bomber walks in! Palestinian convenience is being violated! Regarding overcrowded Palestinian refugee camps - whose fault is that? Uh... maybe Jordan, Syria and UNRWA (the largest UN organization in the world!) How can Israel be blamed? There were more Jewish refugees at one point but I never heard of Jewish refugee camps!
3. Unless they hear both sides of the story,
exUK ,   TEl Aviv   (07.08.13)
No-one can support us.In any case most people here bury their heads in the proverbial sand.If we are 'neglecting the Arab population there is no justification.Of we 'occupy' or say it belongs to us,equally we are responsible for ALL living there.Otherwise we are immoral and racist..The situation can easily change but only if it is made public
4. why is this news?
robins ,   jerusalem   (07.08.13)
You can see Ir Amim taking people round every week and giving them their one-sided agenda. "Doveish" here is a euphemism for biased. I hope that these journalism students realize there are two sides to this story.
6. Lies and indoctrination
Jake   (07.08.13)
The residents of these Arab neighborhoods receive state benefits , from social security to health benefits to education. If they have not received full municipal services, it is because employess of the municipality and state have been regularly attacked when attempting to provide services in these areas.
7. #4
Michael ,   Haifa   (07.08.13)
I hope you realize that there are two sides to the story. Most talkbackers here don't
9. Sarah B
Rachel ,   Jerusalem   (07.08.13)
Yes and there is also a lot of very beautiful housing in Arab areas too.
10. East Jerusalem and taxes
Danny ,   London England   (07.08.13)
The article states that East Jerusalem Arabs pay their taxes but get little to show for it. I had the impression that many do not pay taxes and that this has led to limited public services. On the other hand, many East Jerusalem Arabs have said they prfer to remain under Israeli govt rather than PA govt. Jerusalem has had a Jewish majority from about 1850, so the suggestion of dividing the city makes little practical sense. There could be local Arab borough govt in East Jerusalem, but city-wide security provided by the IDF.
11. Stop calling them "dovish" - they are not
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (07.08.13)
Why are they "dovish" - they are not promoting peace - which is what doves do. They are dis-promoting Israel and promoting "Palestine". This means they are a pro-Palestine and/or anti-Israel group. Peace, and thus doves, has nothing to do with them.
12. "Dovish"?
Miracle Dog ,   Israel   (07.08.13)
Not when it comes to hating Jews and Jewish heritage. Perhaps "leftist" or "anti-Israel" would be more appropriate?
13. Idiotic Left
Bill Stein ,   USA   (07.09.13)
Oh yes it's so bad that Arabs in the West Bank want Israeli citizenship rather than PA. This group foreign government funded by the UK if I am not mistaken needs to be outlawed.
14. most of these houses r illegal structures,
ghostq   (07.09.13)
they were built without permits, and poor standarts, they can collapse, I am sure the houses were not approved by the state of Israel nor the residenses paid for perchasing licenses for building in Jerusalem.
15. The posts at No. 5 and No. 8 ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.09.13)
.... are not mine. But I do have an opinion. Here goes. Israel has never neglected Arab neighborhoods. In fact, those neighborhoods never even knew what infrastructure was until Israel took over in June of 1967. Tell me -- how many outbreaks of cholera have happened since June 1967? Oh! None! Why do you suppose that is? Israel taught these animals all about the importance of sewage infrastructure, and then implemented it for them. Do you think it a mere coincidence that the infant mortality rate among the ersatz "Palestinians" went from among the highest in the world to the lowest exactly when Israel took over the primitive Arab nonexistent "infrastructure" in East Jerusalem and the West Bank? Israel fixed all the problems in East Jerusalem and the West Bank -- and more. And how did the grateful ersatz "Palestinians" thank us? With terror, more terror and still more terror. Ungrateful wretches. I really find it absolutely outrageous that there is not a single expression of gratitude from the Arabs. We did everything humanly possible for them. That was a mistake, and several thousand dead -- and thousand more maimed -- innocent Jewish civilians later, we should have learned our lesson. You can put lipstick on a pig. But it is still a pig. You can bring modernity and modern facilities to Arabs. But they are still Arabs. History doesn't lie, and it speaks volumes. All you have to do is watch and listen.
16. # 5 No visit to Jewish slums how come?
JewishSlumsNotVisit? ,   Jerusalem Israel   (07.09.13)
You want to see slums well there Are no shortage of them in the Jewish areas of Jerusalem Don't use Rehavia As a criterion go to the neighborhoods Of Katamon and Talpiot and see tens of thousands of the residences of the Jews who fled Arab countries living In 2 or 3 crowded rooms with huge families the. Go to Beit Hanina and Shuafat and the top of the mount of olives and see the large multi million dollar Arab mansions ditto Wadi Ara With its mega mansions and Beduin "Palaces" In the Negev the story Is not so black and white as this dangerous group makes it to be.
17. Sarahs
Muna ,   Doha   (07.09.13)
I don't know which Sarah is the right one. The two first ones make more sense than the third. This # 15 is completely lunatic. So.. after 1967 cholera went down in Occupied Jerusalem because of Israel? Really? Why don't you check world indexes and compare the data? EVERY country improved their indexes regardless governments endeavors. You can start checking in Israel itself. Check cholera cases in 1967 and now. Israel fixed the problems in Jerusalem and WB... OMG... where the hell this lady lives? I assume she must have a very precarious condition of life to pretend that Israel taught something to the Palestinians. All health indexes in Israel are far worse than any of the Gulf countries... We simply can send ANY of our citizens to the best hospitals in the world... Like that. People ask, the Government provides. Try to learn with us. Was not for foreign help and donations Israel would be a big dump... We have nothing to teach. Just mind your own business and let people live their lives.
18. When you're looking for a rat, you will find one.
tiki ,   belgium   (07.09.13)
Why is Israel rolling out the red carpet for these left rat catchers?
19. Journalism Students Visit...
Nili ,   Jerusalem   (07.09.13)
How about all the poverty stricken Jews? What about all the Jews whose homes have been torn down and have lost everything while the "Arabs" gleefully destroyed the greenhouses that would have made them a living~and turned them into terror camps. I am fed up with this leftist whinging! The "camps" are not run by Israel. Time to face the truth, the Arabs suffer by their own hatred and stupidity....stop placing all the world's problems on the Jews!!!
20. Outlaw Ir Amin & arrest its leaders
Reuven   (07.09.13)
for treason. Enough of these maso-chistic leftist groups already!
21. Suprised at acceptance
Roger ,   USA/Israel   (07.11.13)
The Arabs will always accept with open arms and happily accept anyone who is a journalist and especially those trainees that are more moldable.... a sad truth.. they need to see the hugh malls and swimming pools and other things that are not shown on the news covering the PA Arabs... Shalom
