Whole lot of hassle and problems, for no real gain.

Robert Haymond ,   Teko'a, Israel   (07.08.13)
Charedi religious establishment has cared about the needs and concerns of those who are not Charedim (Jews, Arabs, Christians and Druse) by opposing the implementation of longer stretches of DST in Israel and of opposing it in the past. Thank goodness we finally have an Israeli government where we are no longer forced to conform to all the dictates of these very self-centered factions (Charedim).
5. Another anti religious bill - typical secular racists
Dave   (07.09.13)
Isn't it stupid to extend daylight time to save energy when the mornings are dark and lights have to be turned on? What you save in the evening will have to be used in the mornings and children will have to go to school in the dark. This law is just to spite religious Jews who will have to do their morning prayers later and arrive late to work and might even be fired for it.
6. Complacency and Persecution
Zechariah   (07.09.13)
Daylight savings makes the Shabbat too long and the Lure of the sun decreases Study and Learning in Religious and Secular Areas its a Nastyvictory for Headonism and against the Farm Animal Cycle.Israelis will over relax and sun bake waste fully on Telavivs Revolting Narcissistic Beaches.
7. No 6 ???
Shayna Gezunt ,   UK   (07.09.13)
In the UK our shabbats in summer dont finish until 10 or 11 o'clock.Does that make us less religious???The whole of Northern European Jewery has to live with these hours have we not survived??You talk nonsense. This will be a welcome change for Israel.Adapt!
8. Great news, the dark days of Eli Yishai are over
Haim ,   TA   (07.09.13)
How strange the religious fanatics are so concerned about an hour or two dictating to the majority based on medevil religious mumbo jumbo which is as about relevant as to what time the 3 bears go to bed.

Lior ,   Israel   (07.09.13)
Haredim can't be fired because they dont have any jobs. Because they are useless and provide nothing to society. And for the religious jews that actually have a job, if they want to risk it by praying to some cartoon character, well then, thats their decision.
10. Lior which cartoon character do you bow too?
aliza ,   israel   (07.09.13)
It would not be so hard to guess for you to be so mindless.

NYC Girl   (07.09.13)
Regardless of the position of secular Israelis toward DST, it is not "racism" in any way, shape or form. Not only that, but the mind-numbing misuse of this emotionally loaded word is a tool of Israel's enemies... who, because of their unmitigated hypocrisy, never use it against some of the most racist regimes on the planet.

Mindless because I choose to bow to no one? Does believing in a higher entity give your life meaning, or perhaps closure? If thats what you need to get up every morning, all the power to you. I believe in a free-thinking mind. Not one that is controlled by some tools that sit around all day interpreting some hallucinogenic writing from a few thousand years ago. Its DST for christs sake. This isn't life or death. Its common sense. If the haredim dont like, they dont need to change their clocks. They live in their own little bubble anyways, what difference is it to the rest of the country what time they are living in.
