I can't tell if this article is a joke or not, but given Halbertal's credentials it could actually be serious. Many years ago I studied in a Haredi school for 2 years and lived in a Haredi-only town for about a month. Many things you hear from these people are simply insane, idiotic, or both, but to them they seem completely normal. This article is a great example of this phenomenon. The Haredi mind simply can't comprehend the values of civil law, civil liberties, and other values that most human beings in the world cherish and/or desire. They thus come us with theories that are just as ludicrous as they are stupid. Haredim, wake up! Talk to some regular people, even (G-D forbid) some goyim, and learn what real life is like. It has everything to do with the author's deepest and most revealing auto-erotic sexual desires and nothing whatsoever to do with the legitimate demand by non-Orthodox men and women to pray at the Western Wall in the same manner in which they pray in their Reform and Conservative synagogues all over the world (including Israel). This guy is right. The wow activists are not interested in equality for women. All they care about is destroying Jewish tradition and supplanting it with their convoluted post-modern ideologies.
