31. response to #22
Heshy Friedman ,   Brooklyn NY USA   (07.16.13)
My vision of the Mossiach days are based on what the Torah states. If you think cars will drive on Shabbos and gays will march in parades you are in for a rude awakening. The resurrection of the dead will include hundreds of millions of very chareidi jews including Pinchas of the Torah who slew a jewish leader zimri for fornicating with a non jewish woman. If you think meah shearim looks extreme you have not seen nothing yet. It won't be anything close a secular jew envisions. It will be intense Torah 24/7. Fact is fact.
32. I don't get it
Malkah ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.16.13)
Jon S - what are you saying? Yishai is Taliban for criticizing something that's going on with American Jewry? Isn't that a little like saying that American Jews criticizing what's going on in Israel (like you just did here) is not ok?
33. Yochanan - exaggerate much?
Malkah ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.16.13)
Hey Yochanan, I get that you are trying to say we should all love each other (which we should) and and respect each other (right again), but I am not seeing the connection here between Yishai's article and your comment. Yishai loves Jews in Galut! He just DOESN'T LIKE GALUT! Is that wrong, and if so - when did that become the case??
34. No to Dodger Dogs, Yes to Haifa Hot Dogs!
Malkah ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.16.13)
I definitely agree that there is a major problem when some of our finest minds are focused on what concession stand items they can have provided to them at one professional sports stadium somewhere. Let's get cracking on what's REALLY important! We need those minds working in Israel!
35. Anat @27
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.16.13)
Anat is my ex-wifes name, but that will not keep me from loving you.. I agree with you %100.
36. To Heshy
shadoil79 ,   Jerusalem   (07.16.13)
I did not say anything of what I think it will be like.I would not be as presumptuous as you to say that I UNDERSTAND ALL OF CHAZAL AND KNOW WHAT G-D IS GOING TO DO. But your most recent talk back just proved my point. Reading your post is like that of a 1st grader. I would say to you that "shtika saiyag l'chochma".
37. I pity all of you who rely on the missing deity.
Michael ,   California, USA   (07.17.13)
So much pessimism throughout all these comments, what is it about? Why worry about a deity which was never seen, never felt, never proven, never worthy? And why is it that you poor souls trust it to deliver you from harm? Better spend your REAL last agora or cent and buy some insurance, or a bunker somewhere.
38. #10, lots of good here
Eric ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.17.13)
Jon, there's a lot of good here. Sure there's Islamic and Jewish fundamentalism. That exists in all places. But as a relatively new immigrant from southern california I'm constantly amazed by how much good, and potential for good, exists here... even among the "parasitic" Jews of "polish medieval descent". It just takes a bit of patience, a bit of Hebrew and a longer visit to see all the good there is. Hope to see you in Haifa on your upcoming trip. If by chance you want to make a donation to our department at the University of Haifa, I'll have no disdain for your dollars:-)
39. Wild Haredi imaginations
Shachar ,   Eilat   (07.17.13)
A week ago we had a Rabbi fantasizing about naked women at the Western Wall, Yishai sees us as a virgin on her wedding night waiting and drooling while Heshy can't wait for the floggings and stonings to begin. They may live modestly but these Haredim sure have wild imaginations!
40. # Dror and Anat # 35, 27 homophobia kills
David ,   Haifa   (07.17.13)
Dror no wonder she left you (lucky her) Anat you should check where your husband was last night dear. Hate to break it to you but some people are born gay, and unlike you dont live in fantasy land following a so called god with a long white beard in the sky who apparently loves hetrosexuals, white and Jewish only. Its because of biggoted religious fanatics as yourselves that 30% of all teen suicides are young gay people who are made to feel worthless because of people such as yourselves. Dror love its ok time to come out of the closet, you really should check out the list of religious homophobes who turned out to be gays in DENIAL.
41. To #31
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (07.17.13)
Do you have any idea how much you sound like a hypocrite? Isn't there a commandment that Jews are to live in Israel? Maybe I missed out on the exceptions and acceptable excuses...... As for your vision of the Days of the Mossiach, when all Jews, who fornicated with non-Jewish women, will probably be slain, maybe you need to figure out the extent to which Jewish history will have to be seriously amended, because a few of the most admired movers and shakers won't make it. What's your idea of Jews, who MARRY Non-Jews? Maybe they should be subjected to a good beating of some sort. Will the goyim go unscathed in all of this? Maybe they can be turned over to that Religion of Peace. Let them kill those Infidels!!! Have you ever heard the expression "Let him, who's without sin, throw the first stone"? I think, the Christians came up with that one, and though I don't subscribe to any religion, that one does make sense. Also, it tends to shut up a lot of people, who have no room to talk :-)
42. #40, Is homophobia as bad as religion-inspired stupidity?
Michael ,   California, USA   (07.17.13)
43. Dodger Dogs
Jeff ,   Silver Spring, USA   (07.17.13)
How does Mr. Fleisher (certainly an ironic name for someone who seems to have such an animus against kosher hot dogs) know that these gentlemen are not engaged in other activities of which he would approve? If they are not monomanically focused on kosher concessions to the exclusion of all pursuits that Mr. Fleisher deems worthy, it is hard to see what is wrong in pushing for kosher concessions at Dodger Stadium. Woudl there be a problem with their opening a kosher hot dog stand in Dodger Stadium themselves? Would there be a problem with their opening (G-d forbid!) a kosher restaurant in Los Angeles?
44. 42 & u think anti-religious stupidity is better?
Cyberbrain ,   Israel   (07.17.13)
Einstein ur not
45. Life, liberty & pursuit of happiness
Wade ,   NYC USA   (07.17.13)
Organizing for kosher food is no less legitimate than many other leisure activities. Not all one's time must be devoted to addressing serious issues. I bet that one or more of the hot dog activists is also active on behalf of Israel. Similarly, not every one of an Israeli's activities benefit Israel. I do agree that each of us should not "forget Jerusalem."
46. #44 Cyb, Einstein lived in California. Call me Einstein.
Michael ,   California, USA   (07.17.13)
47. 46 Thanks, u exploded ur own credibility, all by urself
Cyberbrain ,   Israel   (07.19.13)
