1. Shelly sweetie, you had 60 years to make peace
European citizen   (07.16.13)
Israel is the one to engage peace since it is the entity with power! Israel is already established whereas Palestine is jut at it's premices. So my dear, hurting you economically is EXACTLY what we are trying to do, like we did to South Africa and like we're doing to Iran cause it is the only language you understand: money language!
2. israeli soveigernty or not
marcel   (07.16.13)
Its hard to take lapid and yechaimovitch after so many years of jewish subjugation. Unless jews control their own security and borders, they have no business having a country. Oslo has been tried and has proven to be empty illusion. Arabs and jews cannot share, and the arabs do not want israel in the middle east. Some christian arabs see the light and want to declare loyalty. people like yechaimovitc, even lapid, livni and others cannot be convinced of the impossibility of arab peace so israel can only wait for them to pass the scene. These jews are sick.
3. EU friends, USA , Canada , & China
Arnold ,   Montreal-Canada   (07.16.13)
If necessary with this group standing tall with Israel then Israel can stand the hit until the Palestinians get off their high horse.
4. #1. Nothing as obnoxious as European self righteousness.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.16.13)
Considering Europe was the cause of both World Wars and most human suffering throughout history, nothing is quite as obnoxious as self righteosness from Eurotrash.
6. Israel not ''engaging in ''peace talks.
tiki ,   belgium   (07.16.13)
Lapid is talking nonsense again. Israel has done nothing but 'engaging in 'peace talks, which have always resulted in Israel giving and Pallies wanting more. The European continent of failure & blood, is obstructing peace by boycotting Israel. Abbas would be a fool to come to the negotiating table, when those EU morons are doing the work for him.
7. Sane Israeli majority should demand end to "peace talks".
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.16.13)
Oslo "peace talks" cost more than 1,000 Israelis their lives. They maimed more than 14,000 Israelis. Oslo victims still wait for justice and compensation from Shimon Peres and Labor, whose criminal negligence caused all this suffering. It is time for the vast sane Israeli majority to demand the complete permanent end to these sick talks with "Palestinians", who want us all dead. This is not opinion. They shout it out to the very heavens on P.A. TV, and elsewhere, every single day. No more rubbish. No more pretending genocidists are our friends. Israel must deal with "Palestinians" as Churchill dealt with the Nazis.
8. Unemployment for the Palestinian population
Arnold ,   Montreal-Canada   (07.16.13)
will go through the roof. I guess the EU is willing to let this happen and it will.
9. Annex Area C, that's the only answer.
Yossef   (07.16.13)
10. good move by EU
j ,   isr   (07.16.13)
we're breaking the law by building on occupied territories and democracies do not break laws. It's true we're the only democracy in the ME but we need to stop bragging about that because comparing ourselves to kingdoms and dictatorships means that we're lowering the bar. Let's compare ourselves to the big guns and be better than them.
12. Good for Lapid ! Israel wake up ! EU
DT ,   TA Israel   (07.16.13)
is no better than a gathering of hitlers. see it that way an treat it that way.
13. #1 European Citizen
Mickey ,   Sydney Austalia   (07.16.13)
that's right! That's why Israel offered them a state on virtually all the West Bank in 1967, 2000, 2001 and 2008. All met with refusal by the Palestinians. In 2010, Netanyahu stopped construction for 10 months at the Palestinian and Obamas request as a condition for commencing negotiation. the Palestinians turned up at the last minute and then refused to continue.
14. Diplomatic Corpse
Gt499G   (07.16.13)
And what Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs do? Watching what Israeli consulates doing, i.e. nothing. Amazing that the vital for any state Ministry is useless and dysfunctional in Israel that needed such more than any other state.
15. "Palestinians" are mortal foes. Deal with them as such.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.16.13)
While "Palestinians" crawl the world demonizing Israel and plotting Israel's destruction, Israeli parties want "peace talks". While P.A. TV demands Israel's destruction every single dayk, Israeli parties want "peace talks". "Palestinians" are mortal foes. WE must deal with them as such.
16. There is no peace
Ivor Evenbiggergun   (07.16.13)
If there was they would be no need for the sanctions which are to be imposed by the European Union on Friday. Israeli politicians were warned that if they did not correctly label products made on the West Bank and Golan this would be the result. They chose to ignore those warnings. Israelis need to blame their political leaders a bit more.
17. 8 no! What the EU wants it's Palestinian independence
(07.16.13)
And that all the benefits from Palestinian work will go to the Palestinians themselves because meanwhile it's Israel who's bloodsucking them like mosquitoes and benefits their labor! This is the reality of occupation my dear!
18. Mid East is burn'g.Push'g Bibi to make concessions. Foolish
Adi ,   Zurich   (07.16.13)
Every Mid E country is burning. Pushing Bibi to make concessions. Foolish
19. #1 European - Smell your own armpits
BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (07.16.13)
You had to Major Wars in Europe, 1914 & 1936, killing millions of your own people BTW- You software is probably designed in Israel, you really should stop using it
20. EU twits think Pals only want 1967 borders
Sam ,   Canada   (07.16.13)
Of course the EU decision only sabotages chances for peace. The decision gives the Palestinians hope that they can get the 67 borders and all of Israel through Western pressure. The Arabs are incapable of destroying Israel by themselves so they want the West to do it for them. The EU decision just encourages the Palestinians to hold out and not make peace.
21. #8 Arnold
Ivor Evenbiggergun   (07.16.13)
Yes because the lot of the Palestinian people in occupied Palestine is so good, they will complain to the Eu to get them to reverse their position Grow up
22. The EU has never been supportive of peace. It has, rather,
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (07.16.13)
been supportive of the Arab side of the Arab Israeli conflict. And, it has taken this position strictly because Israel is the national home of the Jewish people, the same Jews that Europe, for centuries has been so eager to put down, expel, and exterminate. Sadly, little has changed over the years; no, over the centuries...!!
23. #1
Afternoon ,   Jerusalem   (07.16.13)
Iran and South Africa have never faced sixty years of non-stop outright military aggression. The thoughtlessness of your remark leads me to assume that aside from hating Jews (the money comment) you don't know what you're talking about.
24. Best response: Let WB Jews declare an independent state
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (07.16.13)
Exactly what Turkey did with the enclave they occupied on Cyprus - the Republic of North Cyprus. So what if nobody else recognizes it, big deal. Isn't doing Turkey any harm, no pressure on them to give it up. Let the Jews of the territories declare an independent "Jewish State of Judea", with Jerusalem a shared capital of both. Include most of the land of the WB, but none of the Arabs or their cities, including a 10 mile wide strip along the river as its border with Trans-Jordan (aka "Jordan"). State of Judea will have no military but defense treaty with Israel to guard it. Israel will provide its economy, with open Israel-Judea borders. Ban EU passport holders from entering the WB or united Jerusalem as long as EU boycott of "Judea" Jews continues. Ban EU trade with WB Arabs as long as WB Jews are boycotted by them. Exception for EU travel to area for religious pilgrimage access only, no overnight stays there, must stay in Israeli (or Judean) hotels only. Total ban on all EU citizen political activity in Israel, Judea, WB or Jerusalem. No more funding of anti-Israel NGOs. Ban on EU trade with Gazastan except for bare humanitarian essentials as long as EU boycott WB Jews. Lastly, renounce all Israeli obligations under "Road map" unless EU representative is booted, as hostile and in violation of UNSC242. Long past time to refocus Israeli economy on US trade, screw Europe - they still hold 2 trillion dollars in Holocaust victim assets they refuse to return.
25. When Netanyahu says there will be no change
Ivor Evenbiggergun   (07.16.13)
You can guarantee those stamps saying made in The west bank are being milled as we speak. Fact is trade in Israel proper ins dependent on the European Union however much the settlers dispute this. Economic stability for 5 million as opposed to the needs of 340,000 settlers. No brainer really, Israeli wine will be labelled as coming from the Golan Heights probably as early as next week
26. On the other hand MK Tibi
Claude ,   London UK   (07.16.13)
This EU decision ( guidance ) firmly fixes the fact that the EU ( despite a recession still a major trading and political force) is very clearly, explicitly recognising Israel within the pre existing 1967 lines. This will eventually sink the real purpose of BDS which is not about settlements or the WBank, but is really about the delegitimisation of IL even within pre 67 lines, I wonder how significant to the IL economy this will really be, how many so called settlements are really economically significant to IL GDP or even employment levels .? Be careful for what you wish for Tibi this is a significant nail in the coffin for those who really want a campaign to Boycot all of IL. I shall now go to Waitrose and proudly buy a significant quantity of good fresh IL produce ?
27. US and EU palying "good cop, bad cop"?
(07.16.13)
28. World tired of fighting Israel's wars, this war must end.
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (07.16.13)
29. It is what it is
RedBull ,   USA   (07.16.13)
Classic european Jew-hatred nothing more nothing less. Not fooling anyone.
30. 4
Simon ,   Manchester   (07.16.13)
Sure, Europe, not Germany, caused both world wars. Europe, not the Spanish, threw out the Jews in 1492. Europe, not the English King Edward I, removed the Jews from England, right? And for some reason, a few utterly deranged talkbackers from here can hold people living in Europe today personally responsible for all that, as I've noticed on a few occassions, all the while forgetting that Europe isn't exactly a person. What happened in Europe 600 or even 60 years ago, while utterly tragic, has nothing to do with anything in this article. People here like to bring it up for anything and everything then use it to exaggerate beyond all and every proportion. Truly a pathetic bunch. I am laughing from my chair. (now I am anticipating the usual ridiculous tantrums involving terms like ''Eurabia'', ''Londonistan'', ''Jewish graveyard'', followed by empty emotionalism as ''G-d will punish.....(insert any person talkbackers don't like)'', and by personal favourite: ''when Mashiach comes he will (insert nastiness done to any person talkbackers don't like). Not that anything of the above is true or stands to happen, it is only ignorance of the world outside the right wing Israeli perspective on full parade. The emotional maturity of goldfish, the lot of you.
