1. Effective?
(07.16.13)
Although I appreciate the government for acknowledging this epidemic, I'm not so sure this is effective. Surely everybody knows that leaving an infant in scorching heat for hours will kill him and this is not done on purpose. Perhaps a campaign for mental health evaluations is whats needed?
2. prevention

simple..when placing a kid in a car ...slip your cellphone or keys under the kids car seat ...you are likely to notice that you dont have your keys or cellphone on you in time to save the kid
3. People who do this must be prosecuted!
Dee Bee ,   Israel   (07.17.13)
If you kill somebody by negligence you face criminal charges even if it is your own child. The law is the law and must be applied to all. Maybe if people did face criminal charges they will be more careful. People just don't seem to think that the death of a child is important enough! No child asks to be born. Parents have an obligation to protect their kids.
4. Another solution

Leave one of your shoes next to the child when you put him/her in the car. You won't walk away with one shoe.

Don't you think that losing a child is the biggest punition someone can get ? I'm not trying to excuse them , but they are punished , life long ...
