31. Declaration of Here's What's Going to Happen
Jacob E ,   Holon, Israel   (07.17.13)
The idea of preconditions, the green line, "67 borders," prisoner transfers, and "east" Jerusalem are all ridiculous and should be completely ignored by Israel. We need to simply draw a line in the sand of where the new Palestinan state will be. Carve it up, build a wall, move some settlements, and draft a Declaration of Independence for the Palestinians in the West Bank. I think we should call it either: The Declaration of Here's What's Going to Happen or The Declaration of We Don't Want to Deal With You Anymore. The declaration will say the following: These are the borders. You don't get anymore than this. If you want to start another war, you're going to end up with less. You don't get an army. Any heavy arms your country acquires will be bombed. And it won't be proportional. Any incursions into our country will be met with incursions into yours. It won't be proportional. Any rocket attacks will be met with missile attacks. It won't be proportional. You don't get prisoners back, they committed crimes, they will serve a sentence. If you would like, you can establish an embassy in Jerusalem, it is all one city. If your people would like to travel to Israel, feel free to apply for a Visa. If your people want to work here, feel free to apply for a work visa. If your people want to study here, feel free to apply for a study visa. All the taxes we collect for you will go to pay your energy and municipality bills you owe us. No more free lunches.
32. Historic Statement
Jacob E ,   Holon, Israel   (07.17.13)
If they keep pushing, the historic statement they are trying to get will be my previous comment and not the one they want.
33. The end result will be more unemployed Palestinians
Avi Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (07.17.13)
I would love to see an anti-EU protest held by the more than 600 Palestinian employees working at Sodastream's Mishur Adumim plant who are about to loose their jobs.
34. Somebody needs to remind Shiffer
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (07.17.13)
that there is no conflict between two nations here as he says here in his article. The Palestinians are an invented people who are not a nation and never have been. He says Israel is living in denial as to what is happening to them in Gaza and the West Bank. What is happening to them is their own doing and is self inflicted. Why should Israel care any more about their welfare than the ersatz Pals care about the welfare of Israel? After reading this article I have the feeling I stumbled into Haaretz by mistake.
35. #27 Yeah keep building the Babylon tower
(07.17.13)
36. #23. Surrender monkey longs to kiss enemy boots.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.17.13)
Avramele, your posts always urge Israel to kiss the boots of her enemies and try to win their acceptance. Pathetic beyond words!
37. 5th column
david ,   jserusalem   (07.17.13)
the author is a 5th columnist funded by european sources.
38. Without limits.
Jusanz77 ,   Vzla.   (07.17.13)
Some say that the Jews are one of the most intelligent people of this brutish world. Reading the endless nonsense of this article, one is convinced that every rule has an exception. Sometimes human idiocy has no limits.
39. This article is all wrong.
Jake   (07.17.13)
It exposes more the agenda of the author than any kind of truth. "Anyone who expects the world to assist him in the effort to prevent Iran from producing nuclear weapons must heed the world's demand to operate differently in the territories. "Yitzhar in exchange for Natanz and Fordo," two nuclear plants in Iran, is not just a slogan; it is an equation that obligates the Israeli side as well." Does anyone seriously believe in this ridiculous equation? Does anyone believe EU or US will prevent Iran from going nuclear? This is a ruse. And why does the author claim Netanyahu is taking the EU decision lightly? The main article here today shows that he is in damage control mode, doing his utmost to convince friendly EU nations not to move forward in implementing this discriminatory decree. Shiffer needs to take a look at himself in the mirror.
40. #6, Brent, there are 100,000's of Israelis in Jerusalem
Jake   (07.17.13)
who live over the so-called "Green Line".
41. #23 Avramele. errrrr, who is "we"?
Jake   (07.17.13)
42. Ynet is looking more & more
Reuven   (07.17.13)
like Haaretz. This idiotic article should never have been published. Doesn't the author know that the Palis are only interested in Israel;'s destruction? And the hateful EU feels the same way.
43. #34 As it is stated in the article
Ivor Evenbiggergun   (07.17.13)
You prefer to live in denial, than accept the situation as is. The fact is Israel is occupying the West Bank and the Golan, and laying siege to Gaza, until that changes the tsunami will keep coming. Quite enjoying it actually
44. #2 Israel has a free trade area with EU
(07.17.13)
EU doesn't give such a privilege to banana republics, so Israel should not try to behave like one.
45. #1. "Palestinians" have always been genocidal poseurs.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.17.13)
To answer your question: nothing is happening to "Palestinians". They have always been genocidal poseurs and they still are. "Palestinians" are a fictional people created, after Israel's great victory in the 1967 Six Days War, to justify Arab claims on Jewish land. "Palestinians" are mortal enemies just like the Nazis. Israel must stop all the B.S. and treat them as Churchill treated the Nazis.
46. get rid of this getto jew and livni and her ideas
ralph   (07.17.13)
47. The only proper historic decision at this point would be to
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (07.17.13)
incorporate Area C of Samaria and Judea into the sovereign state of Israel, while ensuring that Area A and Area B remain the autonomous Arab region within that territory assigned to the Jewish people as its national home, the one located between the Jordan River and the Med. Sea.
48. to #6
Ben   (07.17.13)
Acorrding to them half of Jeruselam is occupied ''east'' jeruselam the kotel are not ours
49. Palestine Israel, 2 States, 1 Country, is inevtable now
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (07.17.13)
50. We prefer to live in denial?
andy prigge ,   ORANGEVILLE ont   (07.17.13)
Who will stand up for Israel's right to the land? Anyone? G-d gave you this land and you are giving it away as if it is yours to give, but it is not. You are to be guardians over it. Not to have the world and the arab trespassers ruling over you. I am surprised to hear the statement "We prefer to live in denial" from you. And thought that YNET was pro Israel.
51. WIth all the barbarism surrounding
PaulD ,   Jerusalem   (07.17.13)
Israel, with the pure, racist, denial of Jewish rights, the obvious genocidal behavior of the Pals Arabs, and the sterling historical record of world sympathy for Jewish suffering, why on earth should Israel consider any compromises? Submit to a single demand of savage Jihadists, are you crazy? Anyone at this point in time that advocates anything other then full annexation of all Jewish lands should be committed to a mental institution. What more do the Arabs have to do, to wake you up from your obsession to surrender to the evils of Islam?
52. #49 Another pro-Palestinian dreamer
Sam ,   Canada   (07.17.13)
The choice for Palestinians is the status quo or Jewish and Palestinian majority states. Israel not the EU controls the territory and Israel is not giving anything else. Palestinians can welcome an ever increasing number of Jewish neighbours while they think about it.
53. #1 Stop whining
(07.17.13)
and finally start working toward the solution of the conflict. Otherwise you will breed even more terrorists and your worst self-fulfilling prophesies will come true.
54. It's all over for Fictional Palestine.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.17.13)
Once enough Israelis are fed up, its all over for Fictional Palestine. Israel need merely cut off the the obscene flow of money, food, materials and electricity to Fictional Palestine. Within a month, the whole lies would blow sky high. This is something Israel should have done long ago. Israel should no longer tolerate these genocidal poseurs on our land.
55. #43, Ivor
Jake   (07.17.13)
You can threaten us with "tsunamis", but in the end the tide of history is against you. You see, in 2000 years, and 4000 years, we will still be here. But your ilk will be the stuff of archeological digs, museum exhibits, and history books.
56. #53 Blackmail and threats won't work
Jake   (07.17.13)
and neither will your ridiculous, laughable preconditions to negotiating. Remember, you are not the side that holds the cards.
57. #43
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (07.17.13)
Oh those poor babies in Gaza. Who do you think is supplying them with water and electricity, the Utilities Fairy?
58. annex the territories NOW
baruch ,   mitsphe yericho   (07.17.13)
what is wrong with something that is good for everyone? The jews in the territories have the highest percent satisfaction with their lives in Israel. The arabs in the area are 1) best off under full Israeli control 2) next best the territories 3)Gaza not too good and without the moslem brotherhood getting worse 4) Egypt, syria, lebanon-forget it.
59. #53
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (07.17.13)
The answer is not to work toward a solution with a people that think the solution is to destroy Israel but to prevent terrorists from living long enough to breed. Or in their case I should say "inbreed".
60. A belligerent statement is exactly what it demands
