during last 20 years of various Israeli governments. I'd like to see how we're going to get out of this one. Back to "Gola" folks???
2. EU is only doing what the EU does.
BUTSeriously ,   Sydney   (07.17.13)
Multiple 2-states in the same land = a 2-state. If it happens to be Israel, and if Pretend Pals are invented and the 3000 year Hebrew name of Samaria is changed to West Bank. Coming soon to an EU theater near you in "EAST" Jerusalem: SOUTH WEST JERUSALEM, NORTH WEST TEL AVIV & UL QUDS. Where's West Eurabia?
3. Ms. Livni you are one of those that gave the Europeans ...
JJJ   (07.17.13)
Ms. Livni you are one of those that gave the Europeans the backing they need to stump on Israel, and you are a minister in the Israeli government?
4. Blame the other man, never ourselves.
Rich ,   Toronto, Canada   (07.17.13)
This time it's the EU that's hindering peace. Before it was the US that was hindering peace. But never is it Netanyahu and the crooked politicians in the Knesset that are hindering peace. Well, the reality is that in 1948 Israel came into existence to wage war in the Middle East. So, if you are an Israeli that want's peace come to Canada, because you are never going to get it in Israel.
5. Israel resorting to blackmail
Ivor Evenbiggergun   (07.17.13)
The EU should call their bluff, it is not as if peace talks have resumed since Oslo in fact Netanyahu crowed about reversing it The fact is without changing the paradigm nothing will change. The settlers obviously rely on EU money to survive. Incidentally still not a news story in the UK either in the papers or on the television

7. REFUSE to hold any talks with the PA...
Harry Wright ,   UK   (07.17.13)
unless and until the EU stop their bullying tactics. They are using this "ban" thing to extort & panic Israel. Throw the ball back at them. When Pals talks become a dead end, then maybe, they will do what they are supposed to be doing, that is, focus their attention on the main issues - the mess in Syria, Libya, Egypt and Iraq and as well, Iran's rapid progress towards the N-bomb. Europe is just like students - looking for the soft options rather than the difficult and demanding courses. All they want to do is pressure Israel which is what they are accustomed doing. Easy target practice for them, that's wot! Slaughter and mayhem going on in the ME and the EU is blind and impervious to it. They can only see ONE issue through their biased blinkers despite all hell is breaking loose in the region. This is utter nonsense!
8. Israel should not capitulate
Cipora Julianna Kohn   (07.17.13)
no entity can unilaterally determine the borders of a sovereign state. if the eu insists on slapping a boycott on the sovereign jewish state of Israel, then Israel should reduce european and eu representations in Israel, kick out all ngo's, reduce imports from europe, stop giving intelligence to europe, stop technology transfers to europe. Israel should tell obama that any attempt to impose an unfavourable settlement on the jewish state will result in an immediate annexation of area C. israel should take care of iran now since the time is most propitious, despite all the diplomatic hot air coming from obama and the europeans.

You don't live in Israel do you? You are aware that 75% of everything Israel produces is exported to the EU don't you?

I can agree with virtually every one of Cipora's recommendations. She did say reduce "imports" from Europe; not exports to Europe, but no need for that now. If the EU continues trying to strangle Israel economically, what we all need to do (those of us who fear the deity) is pray for is a famine in Europe. In the event Europeans will be forced to import desperately needed foodstuffs from Israel and other countries not affected by the drought / famine. That would be my prayer should the Europeans continue to ratchet-up the immoral pressure on Israel. What would be your prayer for these sons of those who conspired to murder six million Jews in the Holocaust?

“No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their vindication is from Me,” declares the LORD. (Book of Isaiah, chapter 54)

israel imports more than she exports to europe. israel will not commit national suicide just to keep trade with europe. as is, jews cannot walk the streets in most of europe without being harassed and attacked. jewish academics have papers rejected by uk universities. jewish embassadors cannot give speeches at uk universities without being hackled. i know europe extremely well and I know that europe is profoundly antisemitic. I also know that europe is a slave of the arabs. Israel will survive without europe. when I arrived in Israel, there was nothing. today, Israelis are used to luxuries.
13. Kerry's peace process visit is a ruse

He is in the region to assist Al-Q in establishing its own government in northern Syria by the end of Ramadan.

PaulD ,   Jerusalem   (07.17.13)
This unites Left and Right and has brought more clarity to the hostile nature of the Europeans then anyone can imagine. All those that said the Europeans have changed from centuries of Jew-baiting, are speechless now. It has become abundantly clear that Europeans do need Christianity to treat Jews like slaves, it's in their blood no matter what false ideology they are at any moment selling.

#9 is right and try to listen to him. Just imagine 73% of Israeli exports are dumped into the sea. Wise-up.......

the settlements in the West Bank are not and have never been within the borders of the sovereign state of Israel. So, your argument fails in the first sentence. (Hint: Even the government of Israel doesn't claim the West Bank is part of Israel, and the "facts on the ground" include the military occupation, military tribunals, checkpoints, etc. maintained to protect the settlers.) By all means, if the settlements are more important than the healthy economic future of Israel itself, find other markets for your products and technology.
18. Prejudging the outcome of peace negotiations, e.g. borders,
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (07.18.13)
settlements, Jerusalem, is a prescription to the Arabs' refusal to make a single concession and/or a gesture of good will. Such "concession", for instance, would be accepting Israel's RIGHT to be, to exist as the sovereign nation-state of the Jewish people; or, accepting Jerusalem as the united and eternal capital city of the Jewish people and the nation-state of this people's, Israel. It becomes clearer that Europe is not interested in peace but rather in humiliating the Jews, again, after what the Jews have done to Europeans: they have survived, despite all odds.
19. "Peace talks" with P.A. are absolutely evil.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.18.13)
First of all, "peace talks" with the P.A. cost countless Jews their lives and well being. Oslo alone resulted in the murder of over 1,000 Israeli civilians and more than 14,000 casualties. Secondly, these talks are intended to turn Israel into a 9 mile wide concentration camp. It is obvious to any literate child these talks are a plot to destroy Israel.

As I don't believe in a magical sky fairy there would be no prayers I'm afraid. And as sad as I am about the Holocaust, having been born 20 years after the event just exactly has it got to do with me?
