1. Israel, terrorists are going to be released
(07.20.13)
to murder again. Judenrein zones will now be made explicit, settlers will be scapegoated, terrorism made easier for Arabs to perpetrate. This is coming your way from your Likud in name only PM, who will succeed in making life in Israel more dangerous while reducing or eliminating Jewish rights. The important thing for him though is that he will no anger the Americans. This concern trumps all others in "Bibi"s priorities.
2. Hamas is right.
Steve   (07.20.13)
Hamas jihadists are the democratically elected regime of the Palestinian peoples. Hamas is right. Abbas / Fatah have no legitimate authority.
3. Let's pretend Hamas winning last elections doesn't matter
Sam ,   Canada   (07.20.13)
Let's pretend that Hamas will support the outcome if positive. Let's pretend that Hamas doesn't fire missiles randomly or use suicide bombers. Israel should withdraw anyways if it gets a Palestinian signature on a piece of paper.
4. OK Livni & Yachimovich, don't make fools of yourselves...
Harry Wright ,   UK   (07.20.13)
by giving out the rewards BEFORE the talks start. Give out according to issues discussed and the number of hours devoted to each. We do know that Livni thinks she is the greatest negotiator in town. She will be willing to PAY Abbas anything just to get the talks started so she can feel useful.
5. Thank you very much Secretary Kerry and President Obama.
Michael ,   California, USA   (07.20.13)
We know that the United States has many pressing and more important problems to attend to than Israelis and Palestinians. But you recognize that nearly 25,000 dead Israelis and even more than that Palestinians dead since the partition in 1948 cry out for peace and security for both people. You know that the Middle East and the world will benefit greatly from two separate states living side by side in peace and prosperity. Thank you very much for your perseverance in bringing them to the negotiating table and for guiding them to bring this very long lasting conflict to mutually satisfactory closure once and for all.
6. The total evil of "peace talks with Palestinians".
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.20.13)
Initiated by the most hostile and incompetent U.S. President in history. Presided over by absolute Israeli incompetents, like Livni. Guaranteed to produce countless maimed and murdered Israelis. Intended to turn Israel into a 9 mile wide concentration camp. It would be hard to find anything, in the modern world, more representative of total evil than "peace talks with Palestinians".
7. Always someone to help us
Israeli 2   (07.20.13)
This time it even comes from their own furnace of hell - Hamas! Hakol meHashem Shabbat Shalom!
8. Peace Talks.
chemstar333 ,   Cleveland, USA   (07.20.13)
Same old same old. Both sides believe that their side will be victorious at the end. Of course one will be the loser. However it is slowly becoming apparent the Israeli side is getting weaker by each year passes, and Palestinians growing bolder. It is possible that this could be due to the Jewish people have started to see as the rest of the world see life as whole.
9. Livni Connection to Qatar
Bill Stein ,   USA   (07.20.13)
Wonder now if all those reports from Middle Eastern media about connections with Qatar were true.
10. Agreements to agree to agree to make
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (07.20.13)
agreements to meet .. oi! Personally I wonder whether it might be better if these negotiations were televised live.
11. Hey ho...here we go again.
Mark ,   London, UK   (07.20.13)
What happened to those pre-conditions?
12. What's the point?
Geoff   (07.20.13)
If Hamas won't accept the outcome of negotiations between Netanyahu and Abbas, what's the point of negotiating?
13. "negotiations"...?!!!
yosef, phd ,   usa -israel   (07.20.13)
If this is true: Just wait a bit longer. The cowardly Israeli government will pay the full, horrendous price for negotiating with its own mortal enemies
14. In one respect Hamas is right
Mira ,   Vienna   (07.20.13)
Abu Mazen is NOT elected, his mandate run out soem years ago and he never dared to call for new elections!
15. Hamas is half right when they say...
M. Davison ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (07.20.13)
"Abbas has no legitimacy to negotiate in the name of the Palestinian people on the core issues." They forget that they also have no legitimacy to do so either. Both factions have forcibly remained in office long after their elected terms have expired. I've never been able to understand the US (and world) insistence on re-starting negotiations with politicians whose elected terms of office have expired and have, in fact, no authority to tell a garbage collector to pick up a trash can. Anyone expecting anything other than a replay of the last set of "negotiations" had better plan on new elections in the PA, with the proviso that the elected government, no matter who it is, has the power to negotiate and reach an agreement with Israel during their term of office. If Hamas is elected, and continues to refuse to negotiate, then the world will no longer be able to blame Israel for the lack of peace. Israel's government should refuse to hold ANY negotiations before the PA holds elections and there is a clear view of who exactly is in charge of the PA.
16. Abbas is Representing Palestinians
Ali ,   Palestine   (07.20.13)
In case Hamas is rejecting Abbas representation to Palestinians , who is representing them !! Is it Hamas !! Palestinians need new elections to chose their leaders , as all of Palestinian present leaders are not representing the Palestinian people !!!
17. #11 Easy! 1) In Preconditions select all. 2) Cut. 3) Paste
The Red Fox ,   Australia   (07.20.13)
into Talks Agenda.
18. Shut up Hamas - Let's try to talk...
Jonathan   (07.20.13)
... If the talks work, Hamas will lose. Terrorists gets stronger when there's fighting. Let's hope that it works, and that Hamas is actually getting less popular, and brain washes LESS palestinian children...
19. Hamas should inform Obama
C   (07.20.13)
20. hamas might actually save Israel, that peace process deal
david ,   uk   (07.20.13)
would spell the end for Israel
21. the viscious cycle begins
david wolgroch ,   london   (07.20.13)
so, Hamas will do anything to prove that agreements made are valueless (e.g. terrorist attacks), then talks and agreements are deferred, there is an escalation, back to square one and Israel again is blamed, innocent people harmed, and extremists win, again.
22. Are EU listening
Harvey ,   London   (07.20.13)
This alone demonstrates the ridiculous basis and timing of the EU ruling . Should Israel ever withdraw from the West Bank , Hamas / Iran will unleash their sleeper cells and overthrow the PA in a violent power struggle . Then it will be terror business as usual . Israel has no partner for peace and the EU are effectively giving a loaded gun to Israel , telling it to put it against the head and pull the trigger . This can only ever be a unilateral agreement . The Palestinians have nothing to offer , nothing to concede . They've made that clear and anyone trying to prove otherwise is a dead man walking .
23. Livni, as she sadly enough is, representative of Israel
A ,   Belgium   (07.21.13)
in this farce called "negotiations", should begin by declaring that Israel will not hinder, get involved, take sides, or in any case try to influence the upcoming self-annihilation of the arabs who call themselves "palestinians", when such self - annihilation of the arabs who call themselves "palestinians", residing in gaza, and the arabs who call themselves "palestinians" who reside illegally in the Israeli lands called Judah and Samaria, will eventually begin, as we are presently witnessing in Syria and Egypt. Israel will gladly negotiate without preconditions with the survivors of this "palestinian civil war", and will gladly donate tents and a deserted parking lot where these remaining survivors can proclaim their state of "palestine". Now THATS how to start negotiating with "palestinians"!
