1. OKAY........
ROBERT ,   FARMINGTON   (07.20.13)
Okay what did he do that was so special , that other Israel haters did not do , lets see told Israel to give up more land , kiss the Arabs a&% , told Israel to release killers.and the most over used lies...lies....and more lies......
2. Victory for Kerry
Avigdor ,   USA   (07.20.13)
The last time the US forced the Israeli's to the bargaining table they had the Intifada. They never have had peace and will not until the Messiah comes. Read your Tanakh or Bible folks! Kerry works against Israel. Kerry should go home.
3. Secreatry Kerry: Simple: The Palestinians don't want PEACE!
Dee Bee ,   Israel   (07.20.13)
Peace is not in their interests because they will have no one to blame for their shortcomings. The only thing that the Palestinians and most of the Muslim world know is violence and killing and taking over other peoples counties. If you want proof, Mr. Secretary, just look around and start with Boston and go back to the Islamic atrocities in West Africa, Bali, Madrid, London, New York and so many other places. Logically, why should they want Peace? The EU have just given them the reason to carry on their hate campaign against Israel and Jews! Why don't you tell it like it is that all the "US efforts" are to appease you Arabg Oil Sheik "allies" and that all the talk about "Israel's security" is just a ply to woo the American Jewish voters?
4. Hard to call this a victory when...
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (07.20.13)
So far the PLO has said that they do not agree to the talks. Hamas says that Abbas has no authority to negotiate core issues. Israeli coalition parties are all not sure what was proposed (conflicting reports)0 and thus are not endorsing it. With all parties denying that anything is resolved towards starting talks, and both sides unsure what Kerry promised to the other side. Both sides are already looking at ways to blame the upcoming failure of talks on the other side. So at this point what Kerry can actually mark as a victory is that both sides agreed to sit at a table to discuss what they will discuss under what terms?
5. Victory?
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.20.13)
You have buried yourself Mr. Kerry. Know this, whoever tries to harm us in these days shall receive an immediate response from Above. Cities in America are going bankrupt, the EU is in disarray, the mid east is on fire, China and Russia are teaming up against the US militarily, on and on and on. The only thing that Obummer can think to have his Secretary of State do is to threaten and bribe us into useless negotiations while giving in to preconditions.. the punishment will be swift and it will be severe...
6. If there is a "victory" may it be for justice over extortion
Kerwood Derby ,   Frostbite Falls   (07.20.13)
And may the genocidal, mass-murdering extortionists have their self identity instilled in the land of their own name and their right of return enforced back to the homicidal Hamite peninsular homeland of their own name so Jews may better approximate peace in the land of their own name, the land of their forefathers, live as them in the land they love and protects them.
7. Sue those who make concessions leading to casualties.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.20.13)
It is nothing but another Oslo Disaster in the making. Israel has yet to make the despicable Labor Party pay for the thousands of Israelis maimed and murdered by Oslo. It is way past time to make Israeli leaders, who make concessions leading to Israeli casualties, pay dearly for their criminal negligence.
8. #5 Dror, you must be reading from the same book I am
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (07.20.13)
Only you put things much more succinctly than I can.
9. It's all a useless circus: Abbas' mandate has been over
Aurora Aronsson ,   Malmö, Se   (07.20.13)
since 2010 already and he refuses to call for elections. He is just an old terrorist and denier of the Shoah, who even wrote a thesis and a book saying that "the Shoah is a Zionist invention, and no more than 600.000 Jews died during W.W.II
10. Middle East Problem
Harold ,   USA   (07.20.13)
The Europeans are not far from the Middle East and want this 46 years old problem be solved more than the United States. So John Kerry is asked by the EU especially by Britain to do his best to solve the problem and the creation of a Palestinian State.
11. Israelis dont want peace
James   (07.20.13)
Israelis are more interested in their jihadi sentiment that all the lands belong to them because apparently their god told them so. There will never be peace with them.
12. Unfinished business in Turkey
Serge ,   Antwerp, Belgium   (07.20.13)
What happened to Obama and Kerry's Israel/Turkey reconciliation ??? Israel paid, but the goods were not delivered ! Will this issue be more of the same "feel good" declaration without results on the ground.
13. To 5 Victory?
KK   (07.20.13)
What victory? Perhaps like his boss BHO he wants a Nobel (that in effect was an unwarranted one or deserved anyhow) Wouldn't surprise me if indeed he may think so. Had enough with all our Israeli leaders. And if I err than,I'll apologize profoundly. Fact remains I am right .
14. Kerry wins?
KK   (07.20.13)
Laughing my head off. He just traveled to and fro . nothing else. Better men/people trIed and failed. The fact remains nothing of substance through Kerry . Worse part is the fact BB & his partner in crime Livni have folded to the demands of Abbas by promising the release of the terrorist scumbags prisoners. I was for BB all the way, and when some criticised him I was furious . Now I can see they were right and me wrong . That goes to the lot of them that includes Steinitz. Will our leaders ever learn? .
15. What exactly has Kerry done. When is peace signing ceremony??
Alan ,   SA   (07.20.13)
16. #10. Here comes another worthless Palestine declaration..
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.20.13)
We could well see yet another worthless declaration of Palestine statehood. To join many others in the trash can of history. But Palestine is forever fictional.
17. TYPICAL ANTISEMITE!
Aurora Aronsson ,   Malmö, SE   (07.20.13)
You accuse the Jews of doing what their enemies do, in this case Jihad...
18. Kerry
h.s.cohen ,   n.y.c. usa   (07.20.13)
Kerry is a fool.
19. Kerry = Israels ENEMY No.1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (07.20.13)
20. # 1 Robert TUT TUT TUT
Stan ,   Israel   (07.20.13)
According to you, anyone who wants to help Israel get out of the mess we are in, hates Israel. There are many Israelis who believe that if we do not withdraw from the occupied territories Israel's future is in danger.
21. anyone keep an eye on a timer ?
Stuart   (07.20.13)
wont be long now before the palestinians find an excuse not to turn up for the peace talks. Keeps happening, Israel gives in to there extortionate demands, they make more demands which Israel then gives in to yet again until finally they run out of excuses and are left with no choice but to turn up. Its then that Abbas will make a call to hammas and ask them to send a few rockets over, Israel retaliates as is her right and the peace process stalls again
22. To No.16 Chaim
Bertram ,   London, UK   (07.20.13)
I understand that Palestine and the Palestinians need to be fictional for you. If they were not fictional you would have a real problem. Chaim, there are many countries in existence today which at one time were viewed as fictional. Chaim, you would not have cared less about the 'authenticity' of the Palestinians if they lived on the other side of the world. The fact is they want what you want and you are saying, childlike, you can't have it, it's mine! And, in any case, you are not real people, and you don't deserve it and if Israel decides to agree to a Palestinian state that would be so unfair!
23. 20.
Birdi ,   Israel   (07.20.13)
''There are many Israelis who believe that if we do not withdraw from the occupied territories Israel's future is in danger'' Whoa, who gives you the right to speak for those many Israelis? You are so wrong, the majority of Israelis do not agree in giving up Judea & Samaria. Stop with the bull will you.
24. #22. Israeli ownership of Judea/Samaria is factual.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.20.13)
This is not a matter of opinion. Israeli ownership of Judea and Samaria is factual. It has been incontrovertibly proven by countless international law experts. "Palestinians" are fictional people created after Israel's great victory in the Six Days War to justify stealing Jewish land. When Jordan ruled Judea and Samaria, there was never any talks about "Palestinian" statehood there. The truth could not be more obvious.
25. To No. 24
Bertram ,   London, UK   (07.20.13)
As usual, you evade the point. What will you do if a Palestinian state comes into existence? Close your eyes, put your fingers in your ears and make a loud continuous noise?
26. #25. What will you do when you're proven wrong yet again?
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.20.13)
We may well see yet another worthless declaration of Palestine statehood. But no Palestine will ever arise in Judea and Samaria. What will you do when you are proven wrong yet again?
27. I am pretty sure this ain't no triumph. It's Kerry's
Biggest Shame   (07.20.13)
28. #25:As usual it's beside the point. American Indians are
tom ,   tel aviv   (07.20.13)
very REAL and all it ever got them are casinos & "Indiana"(ha-ha) So obviously we are in a much better position to vanquish a group of Arabs, that have almost no historical validity in this skirmish. We plan on winning this war while you're talking about "rights&wrongs". In history, I'm afraid, they don't exist. we were in the"Right" for so long (as in :right to breathe & live) but it only brought us death and near- annihilation. Enough of that Sir!
29. To No. 28
Bertram ,   London, UK   (07.21.13)
What on earth are you talking about? Where in these posts have I talked about 'rights and wrongs'? You make up this incoherent stuff as you go along. A Palestinian state will only come about if all the major interested parties support it, including Israel. Palestine will then have validity, whether you like it or not. Then - calamity - what would you do? But stop worrying, the odds are that it won't happen and everything will be fine, won't it? You can then retain your undeserved superiority and chutzpah in denying the right of a people to identify themselves in the way that makes sense for them.
30. What "victory"?
Steve Lieblich ,   Western Australia   (07.21.13)
Neither side wants to be seen to refuse to negotiate, but as long as the Arabs hate Jews, refuse to live with Jews, and teach their children to hate Jews, there will be no peace.
