1. A Jewish skeleton?
(07.22.13)
How can a skeleton be Jewish? Stupidity is bounderless!!
2. #1, what part of "Jewish skeleton" do you not understand?
Jake   (07.22.13)
Most individuals with a functioning brain would understand that to mean the remains of a Jewish person. ...Or are you simply being facetious?

Not quite. The remains are only about 500 years old. The Jews have been in the Middle East for thousands (not only hundreds) of years.

That cozy sinagoga shown in the picture was rebuilt by Mr. Safra, the banker. He's a nice man. That place (Recife) was under Dutch administration during that period, but Portugal made a war and conquered that land, so the Dutch people were expelled from this country forever (but they still hold Curacao)...Portugal brought the Inquisição to Brazil- you can imagine Jewish business during that period (sugar, tobacco, even slavery) Jewish were merchants - most interesting at all is that shul was the first beit knesset built in the Americas. Very nice.

I don't want to interfere in God's business but I want to know if He had a special design for Jewish skeletons. I also know God created one man and woman and He did not create one non Jewish man and a Jewish woman. Moreover can we say Jews discovered Brazil.

Islamic burial is not the same as Jewish burial. According to what I read, according to the Islamic rules, the grave must be aligned perpendicular to the direction of Mecca, with the body lying on its right side, facing Mecca. Jews are buried flat on their backs, not turned in a certain direction.

I am not sure, but I think that I once read that Christopher Colombus was and\or his parents were jews who were converted by force... But, maybe I had a dream...

is give science a chance. This sort of thing makes a mockery of scientific principles. Who needs evidence when the overseer at first glance has "no doubt?" Or, wait, I forgot "religious issues" trump objective analysis.
18. #13, as a matter of fact...
Zeev ,   TA   (07.23.13)
Jews did discover Brazil. In Cabral's expedition the crew were mostly New Christians, Jews who were forced to convert into Christianism. As far as creationism, I'll leave that for another comment. In any case, you are right: don't interfere with any business that you know nothing about!
19. to #5 Israelies tribes r not native amerikan tribes
ghostq   (07.23.13)
they both from different continents, in the world there r continents and they r: Amerika, Europe, afrika, Asia, Australia... well if this explanation is good for first grader it probably good for you.

of the 15th and 16th centuries knows that many of the crewmen in the voyages of Columbus, Vespucci, Magellan, da Gama, Cabral, et al, were Jews fleeing the Spanish, Portuguese and Italian Inquisitions. This skeleton was probably a crewman on one of the voyages of discovery during the early 16th century (1500-1599). Don't be surprised if more are found in stranger places-- the mortality rate on these voyages was often as high as 75% of the original crews never making it back to their homelands.

I never heard Jews discovered Brazil or any part of this planet because the history shows they were slaves for the Babylonians, Assyrians, Egyptions and others and never had any ships that sailed the new Christians, originaly Jews, long distances to discover any land. In case you are right, is Brazil considered part of Israel. Some Jews also say Christopher Columbus is Jew. LOL
22. Harold #21, empty diatribe
Jake   (07.23.13)
According to you, Jews are good only for being enslaved an persecuted, and cannot possibly be innovators and deiscovers. Well, history refutes you. Just about every nation has tried to claim Christopher Columbus as one of their own...Jews are not alone in that endeavor. The balance of the evidence shows that Christopher Columbus (Cristoforo Colombo) was a Catholic Italian from Genova, with no verifiable evidence of Jewish origins. HOWEVER, Jews and Jewish conversos (New Christians) were intimately connected to Columbus' voyages. Don't take my word for it. Columbus' first two letters from the New World detailing his discoveries were NOT addressed to the Spanish monarchs Isabella and Ferdinand, but to their treasurers, the financiers who supported Columbus' expeditions: The Jewish conversos Luis de Santangel and Gabriel Sanchez. Moreover, a prominent crew member, Luis de Torres (born Joseph ben Halevy) was a baptised Jew. Columbuis credited nautical instruments and calculations of Jewish scientists (Abraham Zacuto, Joseph Vecinho) in assisting his navigation.
23. Recife beaches

are plenty of sharks. Don't surf there.
24. I'll go with that balanced take on the matter, #22
Cameron ,   USA   (07.24.13)
If it's backed up with hard, credible research and verifiable evidence, then such claims pass muster.
25. 13 Harold.Jews did not discover Brazil,
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (07.25.13)
but Jews lived and died in Brazil.

Brazil was made by Jews like Niemeyer (architect) and Gerson ( I'm assuming is he's Jewish esp as he's considered the brains behind basically the most famous football team ever ie. Brazil** 1970, when he was also considered the best player in the final !) ** the most successful World Cup football team ever
28. #1: maybe he was male and circumsized....
jacob ,   San Diego, USA   (08.17.13)
...after all that is how the Germans and their European helpers used to identify Jews.
