1. Mr Katz: Netanyahu is likely to release
DT ,   TA Israel   (07.21.13)
more prisoners than any other PM and you actually believe he will not give away land if it comes to it ? In the meantime Iran is laughing and they must be within a "button' of getting their nukes.
2. Since when you chose your neighbours?
Muna ,   Doha   (07.21.13)
What a bad justification to avoid peace talks. Since when we chose good neighbours? We in Qatar have to face Iran. South Korea has a disgusting neighbor with nuclear weapons. Colombia has horrible Venezuela.. and so on. What Israel needs is a strong army, which it already has. If the Palestinians don't control their territory this is their problem. If they don't behave, attack them as in a regular war. And by the way, he is wrong: the West Bank is growing fast and is completely stable. The Gulf countries will invest huge amounts of money to make even better. Try another excuse, habibi.
3. After much analysis
Israeli 2   (07.21.13)
I think that politicians thrive on a divided country. In such a case nobody benefits except the politicians. If we want what is good for Israel and for Jews, we need a one ruling man who is G-d fearing and Torah inspired who will wipe crime and poverty out, keep greater Israel as an option by annexing all property that G-d gave us.
4. @2 Your statements are wrong
Gallula ,   Paris   (07.21.13)
All the countries around Israel want to destroy it. It is part of their education programms ( have a look to the " hamas summer camps and the books"!! It is only possible to have peace when your enemy recognises you and doesn't want to destroy you. Look, Israel withdrew from Lebanon gaza and what happened???? Sometimes status quo is better as long as your enemy doesn't want to live normally.
5. Caving in
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.21.13)
The nations are prophesied to come against Israel at the End of Days. ALL NATIONS, this iIncludes the USA, and it seems that it will be the USA leading the charge not Russia or China. Obama is encoded in the Prophets as Nasi Gog. The concessions our weak government caves into at the beheast of the Americans and their threats/ blackmail will not go unpunished. America is experiencing many shocks and traumas to their everyday lives. Most Americans realize that there is a foreign entity controlling their government, their media, their LIVES. The army of darkness comes from the west primarily and it is no wonder why they are referred to as an army of darkenss... We are very near a huge event in history.
6. @2, Muna, you are absolutely right!
Ehud   (07.21.13)
7. The Real Agenda
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.21.13)
We are being backed into a corner deliberately. Obama and his gang are intent on using us to start a war with Iran. Even though we know that attacking Iran unilaterally is a mistake, they want to force our hand. Afterall Obama works for the Saudi Royal family and the British Royal family. The Saudis agenda is to have us attack Iran and take the blame in order for their butts to be protected without retribution from the Shia living in their Kingdom and from the Iranians which plan a widesweeping retaliation in the gulf against American bases in Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, etc..
8. Double Talk Guide
Avi Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (07.21.13)
Over the next few months, we're about to read many convoluted terms regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. For greater understanding of what these terms really mean, keep this handy "Double Talk Guide" handy. 9. No3 dangerous wishes
(07.21.13)
I cite: "(If we want what is good for Israel and for Jews) we need a one ruling man who is G-d fearing and Torah inspired " Do you realize the meaning of what you wrote? A one rulling man? Do you mean you support monarchy, or worse, a totalitarian regime ruled by only ONE man? Is this the Israel you want? Look what happened everytime people put their trust and gave power to only one man....
10. #4 Welcome to the club, habibi
Muna ,   Doha   (07.21.13)
North Korea has also threaned of mass destruction Japan, South Korea and the US, We just saw that a ship of weapons was caught by Panama. So what? That is why there are laws governing the wars. Just imagine if Qatar had to occupy Iran because of the beligerant and hostile language of this country towards mine.
11. Gaza question
Ari Rusila ,   Jyvaskyla, Finland   (07.21.13)
In my opinion question about Gaza should be solved at early stage during coming negotiations. Gaza’s isolation was imposed originally to delegitimize and undermine Hamas’ leadership. However Hamas’ control grew tighter. Though Israel and Egypt allow limited imports into Gaza, the economy of Gaza largely relies on illicit trade that flourishes via an alternative “tunnel economy.” This second economy increases ordinary Gazans’ reliance on Hamas rule, which most would prefer to see end. Making peace deal only between Israel and the PA does not solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and ignoring Gaza further incentivizes Hamas to oppose peace with Israel. So a new reintegration strategy is needed instead of isolation, it should reconnect Gaza with the West Bank to lessen Hamas’ grip on Gaza. For example Israel should allow more trade from its territory and also reopen trade from the West Bank. Gazans should be allowed to open an export corridor through Israel. Allowing goods to flow between Gaza and the West Bank will change Gaza’s economy away from illicit trade with Egypt and strengthen more moderate circles in Gaza.
12. Muna from Doha
Michael ,   Haifa   (07.21.13)
You make perfect sense on this talkback site. But I wouldn't get too conceited by this little bit of praise, since most of the talkbackers here are congenital idiots.
13. The foreign entity controlling Amerika
Dror ,   Haifa,Israel   (07.21.13)
Is referred to as the NWO New world order. Globalist international corporate government. Tyrannical unelected usurpers based on the British corporate model of Imperialism dating back to the Dutch East India company.
14. Mr Katz is right
KK   (07.21.13)
By all means restart negotiations. But how many times will this will be regurgitated when in effect Kerry forgets: Fatah is tied at the hip with Hamas, It was Abbas's choice now he is stuck in the mud with no way to turn. as far as I am aware knowing this has been going on for months . No chance in hell will there be any peace with the "FAKES" And to Kerry:Go home you gained nothing although you may think so.
15. There is nothing more repulsive than
Paul ,   Jerusalem   (07.21.13)
hearing anyone in a position of leadership using the infamous Sharon term, "painful concessions". It should be stricken from the Hebrew tongue. Do we have go through, "painful concessions", as we compromise and discuss our right to exist? We haven't, as Jews, already experienced enough Pain? I would expect the deranged, unsympathetic, unrepentant EU or Obama to use these terms, but not a Jewish minister.
16. Thanks, Michael
Muna ,   Doha   (07.21.13)
I know talkbackers here are not easy. Most of them seem to be foreigners, like "ersatz" Sarah B. They talk about wars and hate because they don't have kids to send to the army or because they don't taxes to Israel. I have a dream that is to see Israel integrated in the Middle East. In the past, it was not like that. It would be very difficult to find anyone in the Gulf who would accept Israel. But time has passed, Israel is here to stay and, in the end, Jews in the Middle East can add more good things than bad if they make peace with the Palestinians. Time to see this region with other eyes. Speaking frankly, today most of Arabs hate more Iran than Israel. We just want you to leave the Palestinians to live their own lives.
17. To Israeli at 3
KK   (07.21.13)
Quite right in your assumptions. As far as I can detect nothing of import will emanate from the (socalled) work Kerry embarked on. If BB falls for it he should be thrown out of office replaced with Bennett pretty sharpish. Not one inch of Israel should be forfeited to the likes of Abbas. And in the interim I bet Iran is laughing their heads off. What big sham.
18. TO 6
KK   (07.21.13)
Okay Abdul Go live where she lives. END
19. To 4 on that disingenuous woman
KK   (07.21.13)
From Doha . Typical ignorance. Of course coming from a muslim country she has no idea how Israel suffers from the surrounding countries all who happen to be Arabs that are the enemies of Israel. No need telling her how Israel; survived through all its wars against them And I MEAN ALL OF THEM THAT INCLUDES Her piffling country .
20. Muna , Doha
Arnold ,   Montreal-Canada   (07.21.13)
Your opinion is refreshing. I hope words turn to action by yourself and the Arab League if and when Palestine does not behave itself once it is established.
21. @ 13 So what does that have
KK   (07.21.13)
Have to do with the subject at hand ? You think by putting it out you would gain some brownie points..Is that it? Well you did not. better not deflect from what we are discussing that being: The problem of the Arabs & Israel.of the prevailing circumstances. (clever dick)
22. #15. Concessions are "painful" because they are WRONG!.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.21.13)
Pain is nature's way of telling us we are doing something wrong. That is why it is painful to touch a hot stove. Israeli concessions are painful for one simple reason. They are horribly and totally WRONG!
23. To 5 Caving in?
KK   (07.21.13)
Yes to be sure that is what has been going on through BHO the socialist par excellence.. since he came to office. Not so much before during the other presidents. He (bho) is the biggest culprit on the assumptions you mentioned in your post. Wait until he leaves office ,then the new incumbent may change your view of the "world order" Lastly on NWO yes America is going down that road BUT AGAIN blame Barry Soetero .
24. Religion
John Prophet   (07.21.13)
Religion, what an interesting concept. There are many of them on this tiny planet of ours. All religions honesty believe they are following the path. Some say, believe as we do or we’ll chop off your head. Others say, believe as we do or you’re doomed to burn in hell. Religions of all flavors were begun eons ago by men who lived in clay huts, who knew nothing about the universe they lived in. You see, they knew they were correct because god spoke to them. For the most part we have the religion we have due to the randomness of birth. A bible thumping preacher born it th US Midwest, could have been a Hindu if born in India for example. We now exist in the 21st century and know much more about things than the originators of most religions. Honestly, I know some people who say there is no god, I know others who claim there is a god, no doubt about it. I wonder how anybody could claim for certain one way or the other. Some believe the concept of god was created by the ancients to give hope and make sense of the unknowable. I for one believe we do not know what’s possible, therefore anything is possible. I just which there wasn’t so much killing in the name of religion…
25. The DEAL
John Prophet   (07.21.13)
1. US will act on Iran if Israel cuts deal with Palistinian. 2. Hamas to be neutered by Egyptian Army and Saudi money. 3. Hezbollah to bechewed up alive by involvement in Syria. 4. Obama knows Iranian bomb would be followed by others in the Middle East and beyond, which would be a disaster for the human race. 5. Taking down Iran would show others the folly of attaining nukes. 6. Israel can now offer greater compermize once these threaths to its Existence have been nutralized.
26. Let us, in this context, remember Mr. Rabin's Contour-for-
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (07.21.13)
Peace speech at the Knesset, 5 Oct. 1995: 1. Jerusalem will remain united under Israel's sovereignty, and will include Giv'at Zeev and Ma'aleh Adumim 2. All major Jewish settlement blocs, including Gush Qatif, will be incorporated into the state of Israel 3. The Jordan Valley ought to be viewed in the widest sense of the term, and it too will remain under Israel's rule 4. The future Palestinian Arab state will not be a regular state in that it will be fully demilitarized, its airspace will be controlled by Israel, as will its boundaries and all of its border passes: land, sea and air Let us keep Rabin's legacy alive!!
27. #2 Mona Habibti: Chosing neighbours
Tarbouche ,   Aswan   (07.21.13)
Does Picot Sykes ring a bell? Christopher Sykes the grandson of Sir Richard Sykes acknowledged it as the cause of today's troubles in the ME the Spectator 6.7.13 Britain, France and lately America, create the problems in the Middle East. The Palestinian issue will only be solved when Arabs and their governments look at Arabs in Israel as both brethren and valuable resource. They can be resettled in dignity and comfort within the massive Arab territory. No dishonour in that, as a million Jews were displaced from the Middle East where they lived since Abraham . Arabs might find Israel holds keys to the technology that has answers to shortages of bread and water in the regions. as well as health education and infrastructure Honesty in the mind of free thinking men is liberating. One day, sense could prevail. Egypt 's 30.6 revolution promises a reworked thinking is the only hope for the Arab masses to haul themselves out of the 7th Century into 21st. Free people everywhere wish Egypt all succss
28. Itrs All Over But the Whining
Noah Lev ,   LosAngelesUSA   (07.21.13)
Deja vu. Does anyone expect Abbas to reverse course and forget about the right of return, E. Jerusalem, complete control over the 67 cease fire lines as the new borders, control of the water and air rights? The Plaes prisoners should have been hung decades ago for their offenses. By not doing so, they became important. The P.M, has been saying for years..lets talk w/o preconditions..okay so they become gestures of good faith instead. The bldg controversy now has receded as there will be no new strucxtures (Israeli). Probabaly the US has offerred both sides billions. and Israel a few more warplanes and other securith measures. The MKs are blowing smoke.. the entire world will be watching, including the USA. Two states will always be a risk...the 300 prisoners will go back to terrorism...and Israel will be forced to acept htosuands of Muslms. and give up sovereignty over parts of Jerusalem. The Pales have won their war..now its only the pieces that Israel will pick up, a much smaller Israel, with a constant danger of the Arabs finding some other pretesxt for violence. Syrias situation is irrelvant, if Israel is strong. If weak, it becomes salient. Okay, so talk..Abbas played poker and called Israel's hand.or, it could go to a referendum....then all of Israel will bare resonsibility. IThe talks are beginning at the final stage..get it....its a done deal.
29. Self reliant Israel only way to its survival
Tarbouche ,   Aswan   (07.21.13)
In the so called peace process started by John Kerry, soon after Obama's second term began, none was to twist Israel's arms..Kerry only there to make helpful suggestion. Six visits by the Secretary of State in six months !. In a mess, a State with hell let loose and many scandals in the USA ? No preconditions turn out to be BiBI's intent set aside . A Side letter by Obama to Abbas on borders, Prisoners released, settlements, Jerusalem....... Gal-On, Yechimovitch, Peres , all line up to support BIBI to balance out Bennet. Obama's can't be trusted , with true colours now distinctly visible.. He wants to solve the Jewish problem, has recruited J Street, the 4th Reich, { European Union}, to deliver us to the Arabs to finish the job. If Obama supported democracy, he would not be upset at Egyptians rejecting Morsi with 22 million signatures, making the ultimate sacrifice by some. Things do not add up. Any peace process is a meaningless sham, a fraud on the Jewish State unless All member states of the Arab League sign up to it, with a UN guarantee security of Jewish State, and a disarmed Arab Sector within part of the West Bank Better stand our ground on land we own, and deal with Iran later, than hand a knife to our executioner then be reduced to indefensible borders.
30. bibi, peri, yechaimovitz and peres
mislon   (07.21.13)
these 4 explain clearly the submissiveness and blindness of jews and why more jews did not flee and fight in the past. Simply gutless jews, no other way to say it. Bibi's father spits at him rolling over in his grave. PALs cannot be at peace whatever incentives are given to them.
