1. Essentially Kerry bought off the Pals with free goodies
Sam ,   Canada   (07.22.13)
Kerry kept offering the Palestinians more and more free goodies until they couldn't say no. That was the extent of his 'diplomacy'.
2. An absolutely perfect title
Cameron ,   USA   (07.22.13)
To be applied in all dealings with Israel and the Arab states.
3. Its' a Mirage.
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (07.22.13)
The Arabs do not really want to make peace with the Jews. They do not want the Jews to live in their own independent country here in the Near East. Everything they do and say is done to achieve their ultimate goal of weakening the Jew and boxing him into as tiny and defenseless country as possible. All they say is tactical towards that end. Given all that, why are talking with these people?
4. Land for terror, suffering and war.
michael Pielet ,   israel   (07.22.13)
Tell obama take his wallet and shove it. Trade land for more terror, war and suffering.
5. How do you know all this, Orly?
Israeli 2   (07.22.13)
Were you at the Kerry-Abbas meetings or did Obama give you the scoop? Either way, you always seem to leave out the part where in the end Hashem won't have it the way that many people think it will or should be. P.S. How do you look like. I am curious.
6. conflict is a religious conflict on the part of the muslims
Cipora Julianna Kohn   (07.22.13)
the muslims consider all of israel as part of an islamic waqf. that is the reason why the vast majority of muslim countries do not recognize israel. neither obama nor kerry are sufficiently educated to know this or draw the proper conclusions. otherwise obama would not have supported the muslim brotherhood.
7. #3 - Why do you say that Arabs do not want peace?
spyguy ,   seattle   (07.22.13)
If that was actually true then Israel has no future because over time the Arabs will figure out how to remove Israel and no matter how big and fierce the IDF is, it will eventually be defeated. This is what Israelis can not seem to grasp, the IDF can NOT win every time, Also there is the counterpoint that for over TEN YEARS the Arabs have had a comprehensive peace plan on the table. It is out on the web for all to read. Do the Arabs not really mean their peace plan? So what is the future of Israel? it certainly is NOT the status quo.
8. An excellent start Orly...
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.22.13)
to a political novel. Not one fact, not one proven statement, lots of hearsay and 'fly on the wall' comments.
9. We have got this far...
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (07.22.13)
We have got this far Lets LEARN from our mistakes of the past NOT to negotiate in public. We don't want outside parties interfering or trying to speak on our behalf NOT to set rigid deadlines...Its taken us decades to get this far another couple of years wont make any difference. Talks will be long and protracted and deliberate..but that's just what we want quiet deliberation and NO THEATRICS NOT to create an adversarial and confrontational atmosphere that permeates through to public perception. Remember that when Palestinians and Israelis realise that with Peace we are BOTH winners and there are NO losers negotiations take on a completely different complexion We wish the talks success and give blessings to the Peacemakers Inshallah And me? Im PROUD TO BE PALESTINIAN
10. Those talks are nothing more than a bad joke !
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (07.22.13)
Is Bibi really prepared to destroy the land of Israel ??? I can't believe it...
11. Thinking outside the box...
Shachar ,   Eilat   (07.22.13)
Moshe Dayan once said only a donkey doesn't change it's mind...and we have two sides who show no sign of changing their minds. Thus the way forward is to break up the current format. I have come to the conclusion that Tzipi Hotvely's plan for a single state might be the best way to reach a two-state solution. After taking full sovereignty over the west bank and giving the Palestinians full voting rights, the Palestinians will be in a position to start an independance movement from within. With the weight of the Palestinians,Israeli Arabs and Israeli left we will have an easy majority for two state solution!
12. Dear #7
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (07.22.13)
From another ynet article today: Mr. Abbas states: "...Any security solution must remove Israel permanently from the Palestinian land..." If this is accurate, take note of the words, "must remove Israel permanently". Why "must remove Israel permanently"? What sort of language is that going into "peace negotiations". "Must remove Israel permanently"! Do we speak of "must remove the Arabs permanently" from Israel? If we did, we would be labeled evil racists. How can you enter into talks with someone that "must remove" you "permanently"? We want to live with the Arabs. But, they "must remove" us "permanently"!
13. #11. Every sane Israeli rejects Two State Final Solution.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.22.13)
It is obvious to any literate child that it is pure lunacy to cede our ancestral heartland of Judea and Samaria and turn Israel into a 9 mile wide concentration camp. Every sane Israeli reject this abomination. You are correct that Israeli Arabs and leftists support this abomination, because they are both anti-Israel. But sanity will prevail.
14. #3. Good sane Israelis, like you, need to demand end of talk
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.22.13)
#3. You ask a very good question. The answer is that talking with the P.A. terrorists is incredibly evil. It results in countless Israelis being maimed and murdered. Even worse, these horrific talks are intended to turn Israel into a 9 mile wide concentration camp. Good sane Israelis, like you and me, need to demand the permanent, complete end to these sick talks.
15. Gaza is the core issue
Ari Rusila ,   Jyvaskyla, Finland   (07.22.13)
In my opinion question about Gaza should be solved at early stage during coming negotiations. Gaza’s isolation was imposed originally to delegitimize and undermine Hamas’ leadership. However Hamas’ control grew tighter. Though Israel and Egypt allow limited imports into Gaza, the economy of Gaza largely relies on illicit trade that flourishes via an alternative “tunnel economy.” This second economy increases ordinary Gazans’ reliance on Hamas rule, which most would prefer to see end. Making peace deal only between Israel and the PA does not solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and ignoring Gaza further incentivizes Hamas to oppose peace with Israel. So a new reintegration strategy is needed instead of isolation, it should reconnect Gaza with the West Bank to lessen Hamas’ grip on Gaza. For example Israel should allow more trade from its territory and also reopen trade from the West Bank. Gazans should be allowed to open an export corridor through Israel. Allowing goods to flow between Gaza and the West Bank will change Gaza’s economy away from illicit trade with Egypt and strengthen more moderate circles in Gaza. 16. BHO and Kerry's peace plan was revealed on wnd.com this
Rivkah   (07.22.13)
morning: give the Temple Mount entirely to the Palestinians and let the Jews and Israel have the Western Wall and the land near that. BHO and Kerry are calling God a liar since God gave all of Jerusalem and much other land to the Hebrews forever. The rains come only when the Hebrews are in the land. How could Bibi agree to peace talks that are opposed the God's plan to build a Third Temple on the Temple Mount not in a valley somewhere.
17. Author has a distinct *need* to
Gideon Reader   (07.22.13)
...pay attention to her own parenting skills and pretenses to political wisdom.
18. Kerry
Judy Jones ,   Charlotte, NC USA   (07.22.13)
Do not trust Kerry. He is an anti Israel hater. Part of the plan the the us administration has to bring down Israel and America. Do not trust him! He is a liar!
19. #18 Judy, are you a relative of Jim Jones
Shachar ,   Eilat   (07.22.13)
You certainly have some of the same traits. Now please be sensible. Although Obama and Kerry may not be your cup of tea, they are not Israel haters and they are not trying to destroy America. That is something they have left for you to attempt.
20. #13 Chaim, good to hear from you
Shachar ,   Eilat   (07.22.13)
Was worried you had come to your senses! Now doesn't annexing Yehuda and Shomron sound like a good plan to you???
21. #7 it isn't that difficult
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (07.22.13)
The reason people say that the Arabs don't want peace is because that is what the Arabs say. Look up the Hamas Charter and the PLO Charter for starters.
22. #19. Objective indicators prove destruction of Obama regime.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.24.13)
#19 Shachar. Judy Jones is absolutely correct. One need merely compare objective indicators from before Obama's inauguration to the indicators today. Indicators such as unemployment, bankruptcies, foreclosures, food stamp usage. America has experienced unparalleled decline since Obama took office. That is not opinion. It is easily verifiable fact. Obama's record of hostility towards Israel is also easily verifiable fact.
