What kind of person are you ? I also dont agree with some of Chabads views and politics.. None the less this is a guy who moved to the middle of nowhere to make sure fellow jews have all that that they need.. Your comments just ligitimise acts or anti semitism and terrorism!
6. Who needs them in Dagestan or anywhere? ,...

7. Does Anyone have Rabbi Isakov's mother's name?
W. Turner ,   Israel   (07.25.13)
I have been saying Tehillim for him all day and I would like to add his mother's name as I pray along for Rabbi Ovadia. full stop new paragraph: Miron, I am NOT a Chabadnik but I can tell you when I was in India, it was Chabad who "caught my back" when my backpack WITH my passport & money were stolen. These people do good and holy work...they are there for ALL Jews and that in my book is a very good thing. No, I don't agree with them politically and like I said I am not a Chabadnik but these are good people and I will say it again and again. G-d Bless ALL Chabad Shlihim and May He Who Heals Us grant Rabbi Isakov a speedy and full recovery.

Why do you need his mother's name don't you believe that your creator or the one to whomever you pray to doesn't know who she is without her name provided by you ? ,...
9. The Rabbi's name is: Ovadia Ben Zehava Chaya
W. Turner ,   Israel   (07.25.13)
See this Chabad, I send them an e-mail and in the time it took Ynet to post my TB I got an answer from Chabad's on-line site. Like I said these are good good people!
10. #6 He's providing religious services for Jews there.
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (07.25.13)
Those who live there, and those who might visit as tourists. With a focus on the former. He was doing something decent, and deserves support, well wishes, and prayer - not questioning his presence there, implying that's the reason for him getting hurt.
11. #8 Oh, He knows, don't worry.
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (07.25.13)
And I fail to see the insult - we are not implying that the Almighty has trouble "identifying" the person we have in mind. It is, however, customary in Judaism to do so in prayers for someone or when asking for blessings. The reasons? Psalm 117 - King David mentions his mother in his prayer. Jewish identity is matrilinial - a Jew by birth is identified by his mother in life, thus the mother is a core part of who he is, and to avoid confusion for the *people* praying, not the Almighty they're praying to

Why do you assume that they do live there or those who might visit as tourists need him. Why don't you ever ask if you're invited there or anywhere or if the locals like your customs and lack of assimilation record? Why don't you rely on consulates and embassies like other nations why do you have to behave like my sparky sneaking on my neighbors property and mark them pretending that if he pisses over it it's his too ? ,... Dude got shot at 1 AM getting out of his car a hardly a time to do any business except a murky one ,...

According to Derbent police report he got shot at 1 AM getting out of his car, hardly a time to do any business except a murky one - Someone knew him, knew when he's coming or was tipped off and waited for him. You don't like Africans or anyone that 'infiltrate' Israel, impose their lifestyle and customs on you so do the other nations ,... An exogenous population that infiltrate others, isolate itself from the main stream society, won't bother to learn native language and blend in will be treated as suspicious especially in long ago established countries and cultures.

Miron ,   USA   (07.26.13)
Chabad contributed zero to judaism as a movement since departure of Lubavitch rebe. And heavily parasited on rebirth of Judaism, lavishly funded by former Soviet Union. You know very little about these parasites. Their emissar wasn't shot because of his Jewishness, but for his "business".
21. please quite PS 117 where David mentions

Native Hebrews are still there, the peasant and craftsman were spared and left alone by Babylon, hellenised themselves volunterelly during the Greek conquest, mingled and traded with Romans, they have converted during the Islam expansion to avoid taxes and blend in. In all those cases due to an access to foreign markets, demand for their product and trade they were much better off under foreign than native domination Peasants and craftsmen are practical people, their invaders are not stupid either they needed their product to survive, to keep the wheel turning on foreign soil ,...
23. #20 They contribute a great deal.
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (07.26.13)
And have, in fact, been a key part of the Judaism revival - they pioneered and are still maintaining the idea of sending off people to help maintain remote, dwindling Jewish communities, and provide both required religious services and a Jewish *memory*, the things remote and dwindling communities forget as they lose their identity. I don't know why the emissary was shot - I can be certain, however, that he's probably the only one within a 100km who provides Jewish ritual slaughter, to name one example.
