Morsi is elected
Morsi serves as president for a year although he is not real popular amongst the army who he took powers they appointed themselves during their time as caretaker government.
There are mass protests with people calling on Morsi to resign for the most part the people feel he has not delivered the goods on solving the economic problems.
Army arrests Morsi, takes control of the country and then appoints a new civilian government of their own choosing to replace Morsi.
How can this not be a coup?
The US is selective when it comes to deciding if a coup has taken place withe decision being based on if they prefer he successor or not.
The US never liked Morsi but he was elected so they had to deal with him, the army gets rid of him and instals a non MB government which the US prefer so judgement is no coup has taken place so aid and diplomatic relations can continue as if nothing happened.
