Dumb aunts not to tell him. Awful.
2. this article is missing one vital information
ghostq   (08.21.13)
Urdu is indu muslim language, yes this man came from India, in India as democracy is melting pot of religions and culturs, that is y this happened, it got nothing to do with Arabs or the Islam from the mediterenian region. just to let you know.
3. now he will have to escape the jihadists

4. Many Muslims have Jewish ancestors whowere forced to convert
Rivkah   (08.21.13)
to Islam. Even the Taliban in Afganistan is considered to be of Jewish ancestry. The Oxford Dictionary of Surnames has many names that have a Hebrew origin. Many Hebrews/Israelites/Jews did not make it through the diaspora successfully if success is measured in retaining one's identity and true culture.
5. TO NR.4
SJOERD VAN DER VELDE ,   OUR BIG PLANET EARTH   (08.21.13)
YOU ARE QUITE AND ABSOLUTELY RIGHT IN THAT CASE. THE (CRIMINAL) FOLLOWING OF THE STILL PRESENT ''ISLAM'' WORLD CALIPHATE WANTS US AND THE REST OF THE PRESENT MANKIND TO CONVERT, EVEN BY JIHAD, TO A CERTAIN KIND OF ''ISLAM''.
6. God of Israel
God'sway   (08.21.13)
Definately people will claim God of Israel to be their God because their gods disappointed them in chaos, hardships and hunger.
7. #4 Rivka, and "Khan", that is, כהן, is certainly hebrew :-)
Yossef   (08.21.13)
The father Maqbool Ahmad Khan too must be from jewish ancestry.
8.  what comes after ?
ky   (08.21.13)
With the coming of the internet many people including myself have traced long lost family. You find them but sadly the fact is that there is a that a lifetime that separates us. Initial excitement wares off and you are left with two sets of people who have little in common. It is not easy to have a conversation with people from another culture or country that do not really know you or your family . You cannot keep on going over the same ground and conversing about the same things. Despite making great efforts I still lost touch with relatives lost during the holocaust and found about ten years ago. The damage done to Jewish families by the Nazis is still being felt today . This particular case is different because it involves Muslims but I think that if there are such huge cultural differences between people who already don't know one another there is little chance of any lasting relationship.
9. Reminds me of another story
American Hindu ,   Boston, USA   (08.21.13)
Reminds me of the book THE GIRL FOR FOREIGN by Sadia Shepard, an American-Pakistani lady who discovered her Indian Jewish roots.
10. to #9 I reckon, vikas swarup novel isn't far from the

truth.
11. Muslim clans
Akiva ,   NYC   (08.21.13)
There are Palestinian Muslim clans that know they are of Jewish descent. There used to be Jewish 'tribes' in Saudi Arabia, until Mohamet and his followers murdered them for rejecting the 'religion of peace'.
12. Reply to 7. Khan and Kahn
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (08.21.13)
Many Hebrew and Arabic words are very similar. Khan could refer to a priest in Arabic, but that would not mean the person's ancestors were Kohanim.
13. To tell you the truth...
JGad   (08.21.13)
Today i was thinking about the issue. I mean, the situation in not few arabized countries is awful..look egypt for example, 13 millions egyptians vote for Morsi. 13 million people that the media and some othercarabs countries want us to believe they are terrorists. No! I dont accept it. inocent people have been killed in arab countries because of ideology, ignorance, racism, or religion. Who will protect muslims and good people in those countries? Blessings for Israel, but i really hope you start to be more nice one each other, peace among arab countries and Israel! Stop Wars!! Ynet i love you;-)
14. Watch Lesley Hazleton on You Tube.
chemstar333 ,   Cleveland, USA   (08.21.13)
Most people have a very rudimentary knowledge of their own religion, let alone other religions. Watching this lady will make this point very clear.
15. @13 13 m Egyptians of a population of 82.5 million
Jrebecca ,   Modiin   (08.22.13)
and only 8 million in Israel of which a fair percentage are Arab. To tell you the truth, the problems in Egypt and Syria really have NOTHING to do with Israel.
16. My Jewish connection
(08.23.13)
I am goy and have an Israeli Jewish gf. I wonder if we will have kids one day. I am 100% Zionist at heart. In my house are flags of Israel and the flag of my country.
17. Khan is central Asian
American Hindu ,   Boston, USA   (08.24.13)
Khan like Ghengis Khan is a Central Asian name. Descendents of Gengis Khan converted to Islam. When they invaded India, they forced Islam on many of the Hindus and also enslaved many. Some of the Hindus took the name Khan. So most Khans in India and Pakistan have Hindu ancestry.
