1. "Ugly Israelis" abroad
David ,   Ra'anana   (07.30.13)
Only 50%. I am surprised
2. re-educational classes
myname ,   mycountry   (07.30.13)
The issue is with general Israeli public that accepts such irrespecutful obnoxious behavior from significant part of its population at home. If such individuals were punished in the early age for obnoxious behavior and offered a good behaviors classes as a waiver for fine/jail, that problem would not have existed today
3. Unfortunately i agree with them :-(
Sergio ,   Tel Aviv   (07.30.13)
I am traveling a lot and almost every trip i face israelis abroad behave in the most horrible way possible. It makes feel ashamed and normally when i say something to them they say that it's non of their concern what people think!! It is so sad because many times people do associate you with your country of origin and when you behave like a pig so they think of your country like country of .....
4. Abroad? How about at home!
J ,   Tel Aviv   (07.30.13)
If Israelis can't behave or treat each other and visitors on their home turf in a civilized manner, how can they be expected to be held to a higher standard abroad? (And how many times have I heard the excuse "they hate us anyway" as an explanation - tsk tsk.)
5. Bad education
g.p. ,   t.aviv   (07.30.13)
It's believed that the socialists who came to the land disdained manners as too bourgeois. Manners, they claimed, also didn't stop people from killing Jews, so they dispensed with all that and here's the result. Individual Israeli travellers are usually fine, but get lumped in with appallingly behaved tour groups. Better to pay more than travel in or near them. My own pet hate are the worst and most piggish eating habits of any nation that I've seen. Sadly, the lack of education just passes from generation to generation.
6. Too much self criticism
Richard ,   The Hague Holland   (07.30.13)
I dont understands all this self criticism. I am married to an israeli ...have israeli kids....visit Israƫl a lot. The other nations....They are beharing disgusting.MUCH more than The israeli does. STOP this for G-d sake. Look at The moral of otters. You Find it much less than in youselves. Love yourselves. You reserve it much more than any other non jew!
7. Give me a break, Israeli backpackers are...
Gunnar ,   Gothenburg, Sweden   (07.30.13)
...the best party animals of all. I still remember (Well, so-so. I remember "the fog", if you know what I mean) those wild, crazy full moon parties in India and Thailand, where Israelis were partying like there was no tomorrow. Thnx 4 the memories, Doron, Yael, Adi and others...
8. Behavior of Israelis
Robert ,   Israel   (07.30.13)
Characteristics such as politeness, patience, respect for others, lowering your voice when in public, proper attitude, self-control, and waiting your turn begins at home.
9. I absolutely agree with you!
Mira ,   Vienna   (07.30.13)
This we have in common with the Germans and Scandinavians!
10. I avoid Israelis overseas
Jacob E ,   Holon, Israel   (07.30.13)
I try to avoid Israelis while I'm traveling. Though it's really just the arsim that I avoid. They're very easy to spot. And the young Israelis the ones right out of the army. They are the ones who cause damage to Israel's image.
11. Being an Israeli, I apologize to all who have been affected
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (07.30.13)
by the inappropriate behavior of citizens of my state, be it abroad or at home. I am very, very sorry!
12. It starts in the home...If you raise louts
Al   (07.30.13)
well guess what they will be louts.
13. israelis abroad
Dennis ,   NJ   (07.30.13)
Ive never encountered roudy Israelis abroad. Most of them have been respectable, but ive also never encuntered an Israeli GROUP abroad. I suspect that the group atmosphere induces te israelis to be borish. What bothers me is the Israeli behavior at HOME. I just spent two weeks there. Last visit there. Ever. Never been in a place with more agfgressive, arrogant people. Hadnt been there in 5 yrs, so I must have forgotten how dreadful they can be.Ill stick to Europe. They may hate us (Jews) there, but usually have managed to nice vacations there.
14. Israelies acting Normal
dan thiessen ,   canada   (07.30.13)
I am not Jewish however I have loved Israel because of my faith. I lived on a kibbutz as a teen for three months and worked as a sales promoter for a travel agency in Haifa for four years in the 80s. Living and raising my family for that time in Israel is one of the highlights of my life. My wife and I just came back from an Alaska cruse. Flying back from Anchorage to Vancouver last friday were some thirty Israelis on our Air Canada flight. Standing in the isles chatting ignoring everyones need to pass, ignoring staff instructions to sit down. People would just turn around and go back to there seats. Driving home from the Vancouver airport I had a great sense of sadness at how the good people of Israel were miss represented by this group with not cultural sensitivity. It seems to me Israel could use all the friends it can get. A friend of Israel
15. Plain anti-Semitism
Sarah B. ,   U.S.A./Israel   (07.30.13)
Israelis behave normally abroad. As other teens do. They are polite and considerate. Maybe the places mentioned above received guests that pretended to be Israelis just to dishonor the State of Israel..
16. Picture: "Ugly Israeli strikes in Germany"
FK.   (07.30.13)
What does the graffiti say? Looks a bit like "A loves B" to me. Or is it some hidden insult, camouflaged as a declaration of love?
17. This is not unique to Israelis
Avishai ,   Israel   (07.30.13)
This is true of almost all countries. I see this kind of behavior on the streets of Tel Aviv from tourist from many countries.
18. My first-hand experience matches what is described here.
Beautiful Haifa   (07.30.13)
On a connection in Europe, a group of Israelis cut the line in security and then promptly claimed something to the likes of "well, they treated us badly throughout history, so we will return the favor". I ask: Who is they? Those specific people in line you just inconvenienced? Then, there is also the story of the Israeli who stole the sink from a hotel room in Turkey. But the worst has to be the dirty tactics used by the Israelis to not only immigrate to USA/Canada, but also manipulate people and the system just while they're there just to get by.
19. sara b
yosef ,   williamsburg US   (07.30.13)
Visit us at 770 and you will see.
20. I remember an El Al flight when some arsim sat in
Ashamed   (07.30.13)
business class and refused to leave. They fought and fought to sit in the seating area for free. Eventually, they were allowed to. The plane was delayed from taking off, would US Airways or British Airways allow this or just call in the airport police?!? I also remember boarding an Easyjet flight to London and you can buy speedy boarding to bypass the line. I remember this big Israeli gorrilla type dad and his kids fought to get a free speedy boarding for his family. It was 35 minutes of screaming at a young TLV airport lady administering easyjet stuff in front of 200 plus people and other passengers for other flights, in the end he didnt get anywhere. The woman he was arguing with was crying out the back as we went on to the plane. He mocked her for crying as he walked past, what example does this set his kids?
21. # 15
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.30.13)
Sorry Sarah B. your usual attempt to pass off bad behaviour by us and to blame others just doesn't wash. I stood in a museum in Istanbul and listened to and watched a group of 6 young Israelis laughing at and denigrating the museum, the people of Turkey and the exhibits in the museum... No, they weren't fakes, they were young Israeis, post army and "just having fun". I was ashamed.
22. its so true....
doesnt matter ,   Toronto   (07.30.13)
its very sad but its very true. There are many good Israelis, but they seem to be far and few between ! I've always said----- I love Israel.....the problem is....I dont like Israelis !!!!
23. The new generations are worst
Peter ,   Jerusalem   (07.31.13)
Just listen to them when they visit Yad Vashem, disgusting kids from disgusting parents. I have seen many tourist shake their heads with shame. Their behavior in NY is well known to be terrible, so much that they can't get jobs as waiters cause everybody knows they have no manners, and when they work as waiters in Israeli owned restaurants they get treated like sh... By their own "brothers".
24. # 4 J, Tel Aviv - correct - just today encountered some :
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (07.31.13)
Following 3 instances happened just today on buses: Young people sitting and letting the old stand - and then want to push me (67) out of the way to get off, when I was closer to door. Family with baby carriage getting on bus REAR door and not letting me get off first. 20-30 people standing in line to enter bus, and then comes along 10 religious guys, pushing their way to beginning of line. But each case, I said something to them, and they relented as they knew they were not correct. We must teach the young to respect others - they might be the future of the state, but they do not run the world.
25. and the solution is..
myname ,   mycountry   (07.31.13)
..to send those obnoxious types on a free trip to Singapore. Their they have a great chance of being caned, to have their arses learn the lesson.
26. THE PRESSURE OF ISRAEL
AAA ,   BOSTON, MA.   (07.31.13)
ISRAELIS THAT TRAVEL ABROAD FEEL AS THOUGH THEY'RE ESCAPING A PRESSURE COOKER. I'M SURE THAT NOT TOO MANY COUNTRIES ABROAD CAN COMPREHEND THIS...FOR THOSE GOYIM , SHE ISREFU BEGEHENOM, AD ASHALOM MALCHUTEE...BET AMIKDASH AHHADASH...BEMEHERA BEYAMENU...
27. 24 Barbara
alsky ,   toronto   (07.31.13)
respect starts at home. Its very sad to see how rotten many Israelis are !
28. At the Karmiel Dance Festival recently
Vered, Israel   (07.31.13)
the entire event was held on a campus with different venues. There was room for everything that was held, room for the number of people who showed up, enough bathrooms with toilet paper, enough parking, EVERYONE waited his turn in line, police and other traffic directors everywhere and NOBODY stood up in front of seated people at the performances. So, it can be done here.
29. Not the worse behaved!
John Smith ,   UK   (07.31.13)
The worse behaved youth are definitely the British abroad.Always drunk always loud no manners at all.NO country's youth behave as badly as them.Just go to any tourist resort in Europe and you will spot them lying drunk in the gutter or involved in violence.Israeli youths are well mannered in comparison.
30. Not fully true
paul ,   Ireland   (07.31.13)
I was in Argentina a few years back, and a Northern Irish middle aged guy had a bit too much to drink. A young israeli guy brought him to the dorm and made sure he was ok to sleep, none of the Brits, ozzies etc. Bothered. So because of this ambassador for you country's noble act, I don't agree all Israelis are rude obnoxious etc. Also was in another hostel which was 80% Israeli and they were friendly, talkative etc.
