1. Uh-oh
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.01.13)
"Municipal officials in Gaza say they’ve began dumping untreated sewage into the Mediterranean Sea since they don’t have fuel to run the generators." That's a violation of international law. Why is it tolerated?
2. International Law
Rau   (08.01.13)
What a surprise. Finally you realized that there is such a thing called international law.

ghostq   (08.01.13)
and the new democracy in Egypt have something against the bedouins in Sinai, the bedouins make a lot of troubles to the Egyptians, which leads to crisis in Gaza. mmm reality translation, they cannot claim now they r palestinian from gaza. but bedouins from Sinai.
4. Gaza have only Hamas to blame
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (08.01.13)
They can only make Gaza prosperous by recognising Israel and ceasing hostilities So why do they insist on continuing with this self imposed isolation and running an economy through tunnels from where they and their cronies extract millions of dollars in commissions and taxes often IN CASH Its all to do with control of POWER and WEALTH. With this self declared state of war they try to justify their choking control of every aspect of Gazans everyday lives - where they even use childrens summer camps to teach then to...KILL Gaza today is like some Hamas personal medieval kingdom where Hamas are the elite and the rest of Gaza - serving peasants Is this the way to run Gaza?
5. Angry
Ethan Schwartz ,   Eilat   (08.01.13)
Why should they be angry about the tunnels being shut down? they should be angry that they ever needed the tunnels. the border between Gaza and Sinai should be opened by their Arab brothers.
6. From now on
Mira ,   Vienna   (08.01.13)
From now on you will have to find a way to launch your missiles towards Israel by sling-launchers! Maybe you should really try to start to love your children mroe than you hate the Jews!
7. Gaza is a prime example of what a future
A ,   Belgium   (08.01.13)
"palestinian" state would be: poor, corrupt, and hostile.
8. gas shortage Gaza
albert levy ,   herzlia   (08.01.13)
Hanniah can ask "Better Place"to open a branch in Gaza
9. There's a reason Israeli fuel is 3x as expensive as Egyptian
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (08.01.13)
Fuel in Egypt, like staples like wheat, is heavily subsidized. Those subsidies are among the highest budgetary expenses in Egypt, and Egypt can no longer afford them. Fuel available from Israel is available, but the cost is not subsidized. Hamas also preferred to get (and tax) that cheap gas provided through the tunnels. As to the dumping of raw sewage with the claim that there's "no fuel" to run the plants, I suspect Hamas officials are still getting their fuel.
10. Rau #2 we know all about International Laws
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (08.01.13)
Our issue is why does the UN, EU and the US ignore it? We don't - but we appear to be the only nation that DOESN'T.
