1. Due to high prices in Israel
Lew ,   Herzelia, Israel   (08.05.13)
The hotels and lodging in Israel are so overpriced it's almost impossible to take a family vacation here. Why not get more for your money in a beautiful place like Turkey. At least they appreciate your patronage and can facilitate a family. The Israeli Ministry of Tourism should be ashamed for the high rates of our sub standard hotels.
2. @ #1 Hotel Prices Based On The Market
World Citizen ,   the world   (08.05.13)
The hotel owners can charge higher prices because there is a clientele who thinks the prices and service are worth the costs. Simple capitalism and nothing wrong with it. Maybe you should get a higher paying occupation and lower your standards?
3. #1 Amen

Youre right on the money (pun intended). I somehow spent over $5000 in 11 nights in israel (without cost of flights), between hotels, meals, rent a car, etc. And 8 of those nights were in a Tzimmer on a Kibbutz, not at a fancy 5 star hotel. The five star hotels that we stayed at in TA and JLM were not close to five stars. Maybe once , in their glory days, but i have better facilities at a residence In here in the States than we did at these two properties. Needless to sya, this was my last trip to israel.
4. Greece is better than Israel
(08.05.13)
Better hotels, better service, cheaper, better food and extremely beautiful and clean beaches and water. Plus a large choice of spots in their thousands of islands.
5. I never heard of Turkishs Hotel owners
Israeli 2   (08.05.13)
complaining about "dirty, filthy, rowdy and destructive" Israeli tourists like those in Cyprus and Greece. I am just wondering.
6. Only mental deprived go to spend, where hated
Jorge   (08.06.13)
There is no reason in a sane mind to go to an enemy country to spend your money

Israel is expensive country, not unlike many countries in Europe. Yes in US you can get better hotel deals. But there is no Jerusalem and all other historic sites there. So hotels and beaches is not the major attraction in Israel. Just to get a better deal on hotel, meals, etc, Mexico would be a better choice.
8. I Am Glad To See Relations Healed
Tim Upham ,   Tum Tum, WA   (08.06.13)
Israeli exports to Turkey are up to U.S. $5 billion dollars worth this year. Israeli tourism to Turkey has increased by 86%. This is vital proof that relations between Israel and Turkey are healing. Because both Israel and Turkey need each other.
9. Difficult to comprehend
American Hindu ,   USA   (08.07.13)
And why did I always think that Israelis were smart and patriotic people?
10. #1 Totally right
Sergio ,   Tel Aviv   (08.07.13)
Prices in Israel are too high, out of any proportion and service in many cases not matching the price. #2 it has nothing to do with incomes. Even average hostels are overpriced for no reason. I can find cheaper hotels in any country in the world with better service.
11. Turks are probably poisoning the Israelis food
k ,   US   (08.08.13)
I am sure if they know you are Israeli they are going to mess with you, a shame you have to go to an enemy country if you want to go away
12. No Shame
A Yid ,   Beer Sheva   (08.15.13)
Given Erdogan's hatred of Israel, don't Israelis have enough self respect to stay out of Turkey?
