1. the Germans never change
Michael Pielet ,   israel   (08.07.13)
Lies, propaganda, and hatred against the Jews is a staple of German life. This is the way the Germans try to "cleanse" themselves of their crimes against the Jews.
2. Caricature
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (08.07.13)
Crude way of portraying "Israel" perhaps, but well designed and most accurate.
3. There is a difference.
Beauchard   (08.07.13)
The moloch cartoon was a stereotype anti-semitic caricature directed towards Israel as a country and a people. This is a political cartoon slamming Netanyahu. I have seen this kind of vitriolic cartoon about different leaders in many newspapers. An official complaint is an overreaction.
4. This is a diversion tactic in cooperation
Israeli 2   (08.07.13)
with the German newspaper, so that we here in Israel think Bibi is our man. He is not.
5. German cartoons
Adam H ,   USA   (08.07.13)
The more things change the more they stay the same.
6. Settlements ARE poison
Dan   (08.07.13)
It is the settlements that have given the Arabs and others an excuse for continuing terrorism and instigating boycotts. It is the settlements that paint Israel as an imperialist land-grabber rather than a peaceful victim of aggression. As anyone but ideologues like Begin, Sharon and Bibi could see, there can be no peace if Israel tries to hang onto them.
7. Oh, a protest letter sent to the editor
Jason ,   USA   (08.07.13)
Funny how Israel tries to silence all of its critics--clearly free speech doesn't exist when it comes to criticizing the "Jewish State". So I guess now you can't even criticize Israeli settlement construction? I guess that fits the bill for "anti-Semitic" as well?
8. EU+liberal Jews blind to Jewish religion+Pal rejectionsm
Sam ,   Canada   (08.07.13)
The goody, goody Europeans and liberal Jews are blind to the Jewish religion and Palestinian rejection of a Jewish majority Israel. They wait for Israel to offer Palestinians a never ending list of free concessions until the Palestinians accept peace. Israel can't afford to be as naive as they are.
9. Israel needs to come out for peace unequivocally.
Michael ,   California, USA   (08.07.13)
The world isn't stupid and does not allow itself to be manipulated through P.R. gimmicks. The world understands that many Israelis in power prefer territories to peace. Settling the West Bank is proving a great mistake which Israel will regret for a very long time. Go settle the Negev!
10. If Gemany can reunify so can Israel
BH ,   Iowa   (08.07.13)
11. What can we from Nazis
arjun ,   Boston USA   (08.07.13)
Every german have turkish heritage as turkish are muslims hence every german is muslim hence they jews so no worries Natanyahu keep your good good leave them only being cartoon of Hitler.
12. ableyer53@yahoo.com
Alan Bleyer ,   United States   (08.07.13)
Nothing new...German are now getting what they deserve. You didn't like the Jews so now you have a growing Muslim 7th century immigrants. How sweet it is...supporting the pals won't solve what you have sowed. Hahahaha
13. anti-Semitism!
(08.07.13)
Just kidding. Sorry, now you're really getting a bit touchy. This caricature is 100% correct - without any sort of doubt; and I'm not talking about its political statement, only about the caricature itself. If the newspaper thinks, that the settlements are "poison" to the peace process, then they are free to do so, whether this opinion is right or wrong.
14. Even in Israel
(08.07.13)
most people agree with this caricature. The left thinks that the settlements disturb the peace process, and they are sad about it, because they want a two state solution. The right also thinks that the settlements disturb the peace process, but they don't care, because they don't believe in peace any more, and want the Palestinians to go to Jordan. So where's the problem? It seems that the Israeli embassy is not well informed about its own country.
15. Well, the cartoon is not inaccurate.
Gunnar ,   Gothenburg, Sweden   (08.07.13)
Netanyahu wants nothing more than to destroy the peace process completely, and settlement construction is the method.
16. The German cartoon is correct, except for one small detail
Tahl   (08.07.13)
The writing on the poison bottle should read: "Releasing Palestinian murderers".
17. Teutonic sense of humour
Michael ,   Haifa   (08.07.13)
Germans are not renowned for thir subtle sense of humour. This caricature is simply is a rather boring statement of the truth
18. UK, EU: All of Israel is a Settlement.
BUTSeriously ,   Sydney   (08.07.13)
What about EAST Paristan and EAST Londonistan - are these not settlements?
19. I don't recall this German daily
Cynthia ,   USA   (08.07.13)
Posting caricatures of Palestinians when kassam rockets were pounding Israeli cities. That was clearly a deal killer for peace. They're not really concerned about peace. They just ran out of topics.
20. Disgusting
Wise Saba ,   Israel   (08.07.13)
Why any normal Jew would want to live in Germany today is beyond me. Germany sucks big time.
21. It should be clear to everyone
PaulD ,   Jerusalem   (08.07.13)
that the focus on the settlements as a tool of hate against Jews is absolutely one and the same as the focus on Jews as 'killers of Jesus' by Christians during the centuries. Antisemitism always has the same elements the haters shoot an arrow of hate, and then creatively draw circles of justification around it, justifying their base obsessions. This obsession then softens the masses to accept violence as a legitimate means of acting against the Jewish people.
22. If they did a similar caricature of abbas, which they should
Brett L ,   JHB South Africa   (08.07.13)
There would be blood on the streets of berlin by palis and arabs defending the dignity of arab people. We send a letter...
23. The very sad part is
David ,   On this planet   (08.07.13)
that some people in this Jewish site who live in Israel agree with this cartoon. If you are so miserable in Israel and despise your leaders why don't you move to Germany and live among your idols, we would love to help you pack
24. Clutching at straws
Harvey ,   London   (08.07.13)
Settlements are a convenient excuse for the Arabs and their supporters to vilify Israel in the blame game . It doesn't explain why the Palestinians failed to declare independence at any time between 1948 and 1967 when there was no occupation and no settlements . Settlements are a diversion . The Palestinians took 10 steps back in 1967 . Now they have to recover lost ground in order to arrive at the original starting line up so as to carry on as before . The PLO were still carrying out terrorist atrocities prior to 67 . Ask the Palestinians and their groupies whether 67 borders are enough and wait for the caveat of RoR . Settlements are a red herring .
25. No 6
Nachman ,   Ma'ale Adumim   (08.07.13)
When you give back the land on which your property stands to the Native Americans. However the main difference is that we are the aborigines here not the made up "Palestinians" who mainly hail from Syria. It is useful idiots like you who believe the big lies of the Arabs. Do you honestly believ that if there was not one settlement there would be peace? if so why was there no peace between 1948 - 1967? or no State of Palestine created within that period? Settlements are just another form of the blood libel which suckers like you swallow hook line and sinker.
26. socialism is the same everywhere, Ban ki
ghostq   (08.07.13)
moon also claimed this about Bibi.
27. It used to be that...
Gil ,   Tel Aviv   (08.07.13)
Jews were just pushed around and told what to do. Now that the world can't do that anymore (France excepted), they try to push around the Jewish State. But it doesn't work like that. Giving up land for peace is a total fallacy. Does anyone seriously think that the Hamas extremists will just down weopons and invite us for humous the moment we withdraw? If you think that then you are delusional.
28. #1 don't blame the Germans
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (08.07.13)
Do not blame all the Germans for the misdeeds of a small minority. Most Germans are good people and in Germany, Christians as well as Jews are victimized by Leftists, political correctness and the European dictatorship. As for the cartoon, the artist is a rabid Leftist and his Jew hatred and hypocrisy comes from being a Leftist not a German.
29. to #15 or maybe it is the palastinian refusal
ghostq   (08.07.13)
