The entire concept of EU and Euro is deeply flawed. Even V. Lenin (not my favourite guy by any stretch) had written an article "About the slogan of United States of Europe" many decades ago. He stated that EU is impossible entity to be able to function properly. Based on what I see with PIGS countries, Italy, France, I don't see the future of Europe as too bright. So Israel's attention should switch to Asia.

Daniel, I don't see Israel is getting any money from EU. It does from US, but US is also getting a lot, which is not necessarily published openly. Palestinian - different story.
