1. The Police need to go in hard
Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (08.12.13)
These parasites need to be shown their place, in the same way we deal with the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza. They are a threat to the security of Israel
2. Why do they have to riot?
Moshico ,   Jerusalem   (08.12.13)
Teach them a lesson and leave the rubbish in the streets, don't collect the garbage and leave the fires burning.
3. Maybe
Sane   (08.12.13)
They should dig up some secular graveyards, see how they like it (They wont of course because they would protect secular graveyards just as much, just pointing out something...)
4. Dont these people have anything better to do?
Susan ,   Kfar Saba   (08.12.13)
Like go to work? They dont have time to serve in the army or to work, but they have time to riot and destroy. Maybe better to protest the immoral release of Pal terrorists. They're are rioting over dead Jews, maybe they should be more concerned with Jews who are alive today but may not be too much longer after these murderers are released.
5. animals not jews. not even human beings
ari ,   israel   (08.12.13)
6. Time to hit the harideem where it hurts
Haim ,   TA   (08.12.13)
Cut their benefits completly, quite obviously they have to much time on their hands and have lost sense of all reality . All this energy they have could be put to use in the IDF oh sorry i forgot they are to holy to work or serve in the army.

Sane There is no way of knowing whether these tombs, if they are tombs, were of religious or irreligious people. And, even if there were just "secular graveyards", who do you think there would be any difference. Your rationale seems to be that the "secular authorities" do not respect the religious, you clearly have no respect for the secular.. Surely you should apply the same rlues of respect to both ! There is NO EXCUSE for rioting. This needs top be handled in a professional, dignified manner. under the rule of law.
8. Without doubt
Sagi   (08.12.13)
The most disgusting people on the face of this earth, a bane on Judaism, Israel and Humanity.
9. Why do they them parasites...you self loathers ask?
Kerwood Derby ,   Frostbite Falls, MN   (08.12.13)
They do this because they do as Jews who actually practice the ways of their forefathers did and in this case because they believe not only that there are graves there but they believe that graves should not be desecrated. Is it any wonder those that come to kill you are in your midst when treat Jews living as Jews like they are un-G-dly monsters when it is you who do not act as Jews and do not expel those that come to kill you and even expel your own who are un-G-dly monsters. The truth can easily be found, but not as easily as you hate your brother who respects his past.
10. If a secular commits a crime
Zvika ,   Jerusalem   (08.12.13)
we don't ever hear a call to cut the benefits to all seculars, or to jail all seculars, or to deport all seculars. I seem to recall a few seculars convicted of desecrating synagogues in recent years. No one demanded his head, or to be deported, and certainly not all seculars, or Arabs for that matter. Why the difference? Answer: unbridled hatred for hareidim.
11. There are civil, law-abiding ways to
Runner1983 ,   USA   (08.12.13)
settle disputes, and there are lawless ways. It is obvious the parents of these criminals never taught them the right way to deal with disputes, and how civilized society works. One can only reach the conclusion that there are people within haredi society who are not civilized. They embarass all Jews. As the haredi population grows disproportionately, this problem will get worse. I fear for the future of Israel.
12. Zvika , it were some 100 charedim
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.12.13)
not a lonely secular [ or arab ] one as it was when the Synagogues were desecrated . A big difference .
13. Take away all the trash bins that were gifted to them
Avi   (08.12.13)
Let them wallow in their own filth and pray for angels to come every Tuesday to clean the streets which were gifted to them as well.
14. Excommunicate them!
Arielush ,   Ramat Ha Golan   (08.12.13)
Shame on these people. They should be hit where it really hurts. The rabbinute should excommunicate them. Once they are no longer Jews, they are are no longer citizens and they can be deported. And I say good riddance.
15. Haredi comments
JDE ,   Boston   (08.12.13)
Their behavior elicits condemnation and hatred from the secular public. They condemn that public for its attitude, then behave even more egregiously, eliciting further condemnation. The comments posted by Haredim display the utter futility of attempting to reason with them. They live in a perpetual state of disconnection from reality, and know only what their rebbaim tell them. There is no breaking through a state of denial so profound. They cannot be reasoned with - they can only be managed, and that the government refuses steadfastly to do.

"unbridled hatred for the haredim"....and not without good reason

Sagi   (08.12.13)
Religion on the brain denies that organ from using its normal and intended functions, logic and rationale. It is the same from Voodoo through all other religions, especially for the monotheistic messianic maniacs.
18. Haredi from bet shemesh says:
Hadad ,   Israel   (08.12.13)
All of you who are condiming and cursing Haredim.. Have you asked your selves how many people are rioting ? how many of the haredim dont love Israel and the jews?.Its not cleaver and not fair to blame all the Haredim becouse of a group of law brakers who are terrorising every one including most of the Haredim of bet shemsh .you should direct your blame at the police who cant deal with a group of few hundred violent people .most of the Haredim of bet shemesh are suffering so much from these violent people
19. "Haredim riot"
dr harry ,   Jerusalem, Isreal   (08.12.13)
These criminals are NOT God Fearing People. God fearing people DO NOT destroy property especially when it is not theirs. Let they burn down their OWN HOMES. This behavior is a Disgrace of Gods Name, Not a Sanctification.
20. Rebe told them to riot ,...
split ,   US   (08.12.13)
It looks like the developer didn't pay their racket or not enough ,...
21. Bet Shemesh...Israels Detroit
Al   (08.12.13)
No one pays taxes. No one works No one wants to work They all bitch and complain 24/7 They feel entitled. They wear weird schmattas. If that welfare teat was taken out of their mouths, they would riot 24/7, burn their own homes and demand you pay them compensation. Yeah..that about sums up Bet Shemesh..Israel's Detroit Let them rot in their own shit..don't clean up after them.
22. #14 - and they can be deported ,...
split ,   US   (08.12.13)
Deported where ? ,...
23. It is weird to build above tombs...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (08.12.13)
Must be better places . Must also be better ways than loser's ways [rioting] of obtaining what one consider important. Israeli societies must learn to communicate in a civilised way, not like animals, in the jungle. The world has the eyes turned at Israel and expect us to be a light unto the nations.
24. Why do they have to start up with the Charedim all the time?
(08.12.13)
25. 15 JDE comment:Stereotype !
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (08.12.13)
26. Ora , those charedim are animals for you ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.12.13)
You wrote : " Israeli societies must learn to communicate in a civilised way, not like animals, in the jungle". As those rioting are charedim , they are animals for you . I , a so called charedi hater , would never dare to say it .
27. Why doesn't the article...
M. Davison ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (08.12.13)
Give any indication of the opinion of experts from the Israel Antiquities Authority? Under law, it's the IAA that determines the nature of artifacts and sites uncovered while excavating for new construction. Haredi rabbis and organizations can voice their opinions at hearings, but have absolutely no legal jurisdiction on deciding whether a site may be built on or not. Is this just another instance of Haredi bullying by a small, extreme segment of the Haredi population, or is there something else at work here? Where is the IAA opinion?
28.  extreme organization bias
Ezra ,   San Diego   (08.12.13)
This article is way too bias against the Haredim. Why are they rioting? Because the communication is lacking, that's why. Why don't we do some investigation and see whether or not it does have tombs underneath the soil? Then, let's make some determination on the correct way to handle it.
29. #1
Jarvis ,   Joseph USA   (08.12.13)
Threat to the security of Israel? What about the hundreds of thousands of Haredi holding it down in the west bank? This is not the time for an internal conflict in the state of Israel. You're complaining about Haredi but don't have a clue whats going on. Isaiah 19 20 21 22.
