1. US, West should shut up
CJK   (08.18.13)
russia and china are smart. they keep quiet and let events unfold, knowing full well that they will have the gratitude of the winner. obama and his western allies do not have the intelligence and pragmatism to understand that by their meddling they are enraging all sides and thereby they are pushing egypt away from the western camp. it is quite certain that the military will win in egypt. they have not only the weapons, but also the majority of egyptians on their side. the muslim brotherhood was never qualified to govern egypt. they are a totalitarian terror group whose sole purpose is to turn egypt into a sharia state, with no human rights, where little girls are sold into sexual slavery with the blessings of the imams.
2. Both Sides will have to Tone Down
Zechariah   (08.18.13)
Both sides will have to Tone down for the sake of the Egyptian people and against Anarchaic Barbarism.A cease fire of soughts is a must so many millions polarised cooling off cease fire essential. The first step is a Drastic decrease in Killings and Maimings and Concilatary advisors and negotiators supported covertly by the USA and Europe and ths Scandanavian pragmatic neutralists .
3. American staged Coup
Rudy Haugeneder ,   Victoria, BC, Canada   (08.18.13)
Consider this. Wa this Mosque storming and Muslim Brotherhood ban, and the Egyptian military coup orchestrated by the United States? It's not out of the real of reality when you consider the following, which occurred in the weeks leading up to the coup: 'Egyptians are furious over reports about the designation of the US former ambassador to Syria Robert S. Ford as the next American envoy as he allegedly ran “death squads” in Iraq," according to news reports. Global Research, a Canadian website has claimed that Ford ran “death squads” in Iraq when he was political counselor at the embassy there from 2004-2006. The story has gone on Twitter and been reported by Egyptian media, irritating (now disposed) Egyptian authorities and people about the move to appoint Ford to the job. Ford was appointed US Ambassador to Syria in late January 2011, more than a month before the crisis started in the Arab country. Wayne Madsen, an American investigative journalist said in September 2011 that Ford “has been responsible for recruiting Arab "death squads" from al-Qaeda-affiliated units in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, and Chechnya to fight against Syrian military and police forces in embattled Syria.”

5. unarmed protesters
john ,   toronto   (08.18.13)
Egyptian military should not fire on unarmed protesters. This is to terrorize people but those who give orders to fire will be given to courts. I hope men will stay indoors till calm is restored .

in order to keep the focus off Benghazi which has been closing in on him.
9. US and EU = Deaf, Dumb, and Blind
Christy ,   Boston, US   (08.18.13)
Just like Israel gets pressured to 'make peace' so does Egypt. They refuse to believe Islamists don't want to make peace - they want to get rid of their opponents. How many decades has Israel bargained in good faith - given concessions, etc. - and received not much in return? I don't understand why the leadership of the US&EU is so blind to reality!!

What reality do you live in ? The army, being the better equipped side, still had almost 200 of its soldiers killed...How do think this happened ? Words of peaceful protesting with sharp edges pierced their hearts ? The "protesters" are no more that a bunch of terrorists using unarmed women and other sympathizers as a human shield in order to do their killing. Same as all other terrorists in Gaza or Lebanon.
