1. What has happened to our country?
Jew1 ,   Ashdod   (08.18.13)
I hope that they completely ban the use of stun gun! Dati Leumi people are patriotic and they also work and contribute. Treat them with respect! No one should be treated in this way. I was not able to hear the pleads of the child! This will remain with him for all his life. He will hate police and idf just because of some police dressed goons!
2. Police now Judge and Jury also?
Dan ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.18.13)
"Israel Police said: "For the third time a person has broken the law." So, does this mean he deserved this punishment and the Police are the ones to decide the punishment and administer it without a judge or jury? For shame! How UNdemocratic can they be?
3. don't blame the police they were "just following orders"
Israel   (08.18.13)
Time to investigate who is writing their procedural manuals and to help their spokesman unlock is right arm from that silly locked elbow salute.
4. Yitzhar settlers deserve what they get
Mirav   (08.18.13)
Oh pah-lease they are a lawless bunch of thugs then they cry when the police have to deal with them ? Pathetic
5. Taser Settlers
Adam ,   London   (08.18.13)
Looks like the police were doing a good job with the tools at their disposal. It must make their difficult work there much easier. That whole scenario was disturbing regardless if the taser was there or not, the person being arrested should have gone quietly rather than create a disturbing scene in front of young children. Taser is very effective and used widely around the world, why not Israel, I guess this is a tool the settlers really fear as it has the potential to restrict their behaviour dramatically.
6. Safety violation
(08.18.13)
The police investigation unit statement that the video is edited may be true, but does not relate to the issue. The assaulting police clearly violated the manufacturer's safety instructions on Taser use. There are three possibilities: The assaulting policeman knowingly violated firearm safety orders which is always punished by jail time. His fellows who did not stop the safety violation are also criminals and should be jailed. It is possible that the assaulting policeman and all his fellows were given the Taser without training and safety instructions. In such a case, the regional safety officer (usually a colonel) should be immediately relieved from any further command positions. It is also possible that the police were given orders to torture the civilan using the Taser. If such orders were given, the police had to them under the Sharon doctrine "an order is an order". In such a case, the whole chain of command from the police company commander to the Central Command General need to be jailed.
7. If thais had not been a "Settler"?
Israeli ,   The Galilee   (08.18.13)
Nothing would have happened! I have nothing against the people who in live Judea and Samaria, be they religious or secular. However, this Government and its predecessors have constantly turned a blind eye where the behavior of the "Settlers" is concerned. Police brutality is rampant in Israel and this has been exposed over and over again on Israeli TV and the Press. Just the other day a Haredi protestor was beaten up twice by a Border Policemen in Beth Shemesh. The Haredim, just like all citizens of Israel, are entitled to protest peacefully and within the law. Yes, Haredim do think they are above the Law of Israel, but this does not excuse the brutal behavior of the police in Beth Shemesh or during the Tel Aviv protests! The police have a duty to "Serve and Protect" and not a right to beat up citizens, drag them out of their cars and break into the homes of innocent people! The Israeli Police Force needs a complete overhaul and if Minister of Internal Security Aronowich can't to the job, the Prime Minister Netanyahu needs to replace him!
8. #5 not Ireland
(08.18.13)
The English regularly use all means, including Tasers, to torture Irish who you look at as subhuman, but such racism is illegal in Israel.
9. Animal policeman should go to jail
He didn't resisted   (08.18.13)
It is clear from the video that policemen electrified him even though he wasn't resisting the arrest.
10. #5: Look at Taser Deaths in the UK!
David ,   Israel   (08.18.13)
11. Potential oleh beware!
Benoa   (08.18.13)
If you are a patriot, the Israeli government will do whatever it can to make your life a misery. And they can be quite aggressive about it.
12. Let see what would happen to you
Me ,   As   (08.18.13)
Let's see if they will do it to you then what will you say who is a thug they or you by your self
13. First let's see you feel it and then speek
As ,   Do   (08.18.13)
14. as far as I can see the police did their job professionally
zionist forever   (08.18.13)
I do not see anything in that video that shows the police acting unprofessionally we are just seeing what Boaz Albert and his buddies who made the video wants us to see thanks to heavy editing The bit they concentrate on is the darkened room which in which we can hear the taser being fired and then Boaz is seen being dragged out there by the heels and later carried shouting. The reason they would have been dragging him would have been because the taser made his muscles spasm and he would have been unable to properly walk out. A second tazer shot is heard outside the house but he admits that his brother was also tasered although he does not say why his brother was tasered. This man broke a court order three times he was obviously resisting arrest if the police tasered him. Boaz and his friends think the law does not apply to them because they live n holy ground. As long as tasers are not actually considered a greater threat to human health now than they were before this incident and the police find them useful then the chief should not be intimidated by this home movie and protest by a handful of settlers.
15. Third world police tactics
Steve   (08.18.13)
Taser designed as non lethal threat response, not cattle prod to torture suspect. Video strongly suggests police thuggery.
16. Jews being tasered in Israel?
Rich ,   Toronto, Canada   (08.18.13)
If this is the official policy of the government - to taser the people like animals - then Jews need to pack up and leave that country. Israel is turning into a police state.
17. He should never have been barred from his home in the 1st pl
Scott ,   Givatayim   (08.18.13)
This man committed no crime other than to choose to live in a place that is politically unpopular with the elitist leftist politicians. He should be allowed to visit his wife and kids in his home.
18. 17
zionist forever   (08.18.13)
The article does not say why the judge barred him the only issue here is he broke the court order three times and the police came to arrest him and he got tasered most probably resisting arrest this edited home movie does not show the full story just what Boaz wants us to see. Living in Judea & Samaria should not give him the right to decide which laws he will obey and which he will not.
19. Is Israel a safe haven for ALL Jews?
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (08.18.13)
20. Broke "the law"? Or old Mandate directives?
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (08.18.13)
The police claim this fellow violated "the law" three times. (Does this alone justify abusive behavior?) But that's not quite accurate. The police used an old procedure from British Mandate times ordering this man to keep "distant" from his home and community. They didn't justify or explain that order. It followed no crime and no conviction. It wasn't ordered by a judge. It isn't just the use of tasers that needs to be reviewed. It's the use of antiquated and undemocratic procedures when the police find them convenient. They only invite abuse, especially by those who enjoy exercising their power.
21. We should not emulate Leftist America
PaulD ,   Jerusale, Israel   (08.18.13)
that blames guns, not the deranged that uses them. The Tasers are not the problem. The problem is the anti-Religious, anti-Zionist, media-inspired lunatics, that should never be enforcing politically motivated policy in the first place.
22. #18 some mistakes
(08.18.13)
The administrative order distancing Albert from his home and livelihood was made in violation of his human rights and those of his children, High Court decisions and Israel basic laws. The general (not judge) who distanced Albert did not go to the courts because there was no evidence that would stand up to examination by Albert's lawyers. Instead, the general chose to use an administrative order based on "secret evidence" which means "not existent". Albert was not a danger to anyone. If he was, he would have been arrested. Instead he was distanced from his home and livelihood to achieve what? The general knew that distancing Albert, a farmer, would cause him irreparable financial damage. Zahava Galon, leader of the party that hates the Jews of Judea and Samaria, saw the same film you saw and was nauseated by the police tasering Mr. Albert as he lay defenseless on the ground. Do yourself a favor and look up the Taser manufacturer's safety instructions to understand how the police broke the law.
23. Interested to know why you didnt publish my talkback.
Lisa ,   Toronto, canada   (08.19.13)
Maybe its because too difficult to swallow for lefty Ynet. You left media in israel have caused such irreparable damage to the state of Israel that i would say that you have all had a hand in the slow destruction of our beautiful country. You have also put jews andthe jewish nation in such a bad light. That left american politicians quote you to push there own agendas. What is happening is discusting and it is time that all the good people rebuild and bring sanity back to our God given land that is owned by every Jew around the world.
