1. Are the bedouins still waiting?
elke ,   USA   (08.19.13)
Although polio germs were first found in Bedouin areas where sanitation is lacking, last we heard, the Bedouins weren't getting the government-sponsored vaccinations. The Health Ministry launched a Polio vaccine project in Israel's south on Monday, but according to reports, Bedouin residents had nowhere to turn. From Ynet a week or so ago: "A ministry van that was supposed to travel around Bedouin villages and administer the vaccine was not sent and according to the mayor of Rahat, nurses were transferred elsewhere."
2. any parent not vaccinating their child is being irresponsibl
Scott ,   Givatayim, Israel   (08.19.13)
3. Stupid parents
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (08.19.13)
Reminds me of stupid parents who refuse to inoculate their kids against anything. Then the kids get whooping cough or another preventable disease and some of them die.
4. #3, if it was just her kids i wouldn't care
Danny   (08.19.13)
But her stupidity risks other people
5. public information/confidence lacking
Israeli grandma   (08.19.13)
Polio is a terrible disease, but Government should have given full and trustworthy information before deciding to push the whole country to receive the inoculation. One wonders if the suppliers and marketers of the vaccine have an interest here?
6. irresponsible reporting
yaeli ,   jerusalem   (08.19.13)
Give Aharon's sources or don't quote her. Some random woman is not a reliable source. People who are on the fence need data, not some woman "researching" and reporting back.
7. don't don't don't ....
Peter ,   jerusalem   (08.19.13)
don't believe the hype! -Public Enemy. they say jump and you say, how high? -Rage against the machine. Am I clear enough?
8. Documented cases and real threat vs Internet scare tactics
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NYC   (08.19.13)
It is simple, if children can not prove that they are vaccinated they should not be allowed to attend school or Gan due to the threat they present to other children. Anecdotal internet stories do not excuse public health concerns when a real and present threat exists.
9. Oh, joy! 80,000 live virus polio carriers to infect people
Rivkah   (08.19.13)
around them. What Adolf Hitler could not accomplish with the holocaust, modern medicine is doing with vaccines not just in Israel but around the world.
