2. Egypt should'nt forget this
Aiman ,   Jersey   (08.19.13)
Regular Egyptians should not forget that Israel stood by it in this dangerous time. meanwhile hamas is sending thr ppl to kill egyptians.

nice comparison between hamas and israel :)
4. Military Coup
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain   (08.19.13)
Israel is losing the opportunity to side with the victims of the coup and improve its image in the Arab street. Morsi deposition was a crime against democracy and Israel should oppose it.
5. American Media
Mike Keren ,   Mtn lakes NJ   (08.19.13)
This incident is being reported as killing of Egyptian Police by the left wing American Media. Obama tried to back the Muslim Brotherhood. The Brotherhood allied El Kaida executed these police. The Media is again covering for the incompetent American President, who Golfs on Martha's Vineyard while the Middle East burns. Perhaps upon his return he will gather a focus group to advise him on policy! What a shame.
6. #4 Egyptians succeeded where the Germans failed
Logic ,   Israel   (08.19.13)
The Egyptians did what the Germans in 1934, the Russians in 1918, and the Iranians in 1980 failed to do - kick out a crazy totalitarian regime after one year before the country was completely transformed.
7. Israel's fear is due to our Sinai retreat.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.19.13)
Had Israel kept the Sinai, as we had the perfect right to do, Israel would have nothing to fear. Nobody says this publicly but it is the obvious truth. Virtually all Israel's problems stem from concessions and retreats.

Birdi ,   Israel   (08.19.13)
German, Russian & Iranian politics have nothing to do with the opinion of post # 6.

You got that right Chaim.
10. Retaliation - this is what gets my 'goat'
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (08.19.13)
It seems to me that the MB always finds reasons for retaliation; as if their favorite hobby is how to kill. I wonder how many of them have cancer in their bodies from all the hate.
11. The Egyptian Chickens coming home to Roost
Cristobal ,   Dallas, Texas USA   (08.19.13)
Chris, number 4, normally you seem very pro-Israel and pretty intense in your stance. I have moved from anti-Zionism, which can easily rub too close to anti-Semitism, into the center, yes, from my pov. There are no easy answers to this, It would behoove all of us to quit putting 300 million Arabs, including those in the diaspora, into a tiny box. Not everyone supports the MB and Morsi in that world and, yes, many oppose the coup. But Washington and Europe look like the proverbial deers caught in headlights at this point. I doubt the Egyptian military cares what they think when Russia, China, and some Gulf Arab states might pick up the tab should D.C. and the West look as they do at present, that is to say over their heads.
12. Your last sentence is the Truth
Jay Abouaf ,   Jaffa israel   (08.19.13)
Retreat is surrender and the abandonment of our obligation to fight for Human Rights for Mankind.
13. Best Israel not get involved in the least
Al   (08.19.13)
Israel is damned if she does or does not. Best they sort it out. One thing you can be sure of. Egypt will always be an enemy of Israel. The 'Peace' deal with Egypt was always a farce.
14. #10 Right!
Maurice ,   Montreal   (08.19.13)
MB and their supporters represent the scum of the earth. Even though I am not for a military dictatorship in Egypt, it is better than a government run by people brainwashed with medieval obscurantist and murderous ideology.
15. Yes Logic #6
Ahmed   (08.19.13)
You are absolutely right, and we are proud of that. Still this Al-Qaeda -MB-vermin needs to be uprooted, and it will take time. Best regards!
16. Chris @ 4, I will begin worrying about my impression on you
leo ,   usa   (08.19.13)
right after you will begin worrying about your impression on me.
17. For Chris no.4
Raoul ,   Israel   (08.19.13)
Chris, you always seem to get it right bu this time you have erred. In fact, much of the electorate, who are not MB voted for Morsi, thinking anything would be an improvement. During the last year they saw how mistaken they were, and only want to get these thugs out. The solution is not pretty, but what is the alternative? - more pain. I have read two letters from Egypt conceding Israel is right in the treatment of Hamas, so all in all we may just be siding with the right side against a common problem. Democracy is not only demonstrated at the ballot box, but what comes after it.

Yosef ,   Egypt   (08.19.13)
Like a wise man once said..thoughts become actions become destiny, so, be careful with your thoughts. Egypt and Israel are in this together, and a stable secular democratic Egypt is in the best interest of the whole region. Enough with the arrogant counterproductive tone about eternal enmity and what a "mistake" it was, giving back the Sinai in a PEACE AGREEMENT. I admit, many Egyptians remain hostile to Israel, but you shouldn't alienate those who aren't. To all Israelis who are supportive of Egypt today, thank you, we do appreciate it.
19. To # 4
Oleg ,   USA   (08.19.13)
Do you know your country's history? It seems you do not. Stop thinking that democracy will actually bring democracy at the end. If you do not agree go and study Germany's history for XX century
20. Prince Saud meets with the Prez of France
Cristobal ,   Dallas, Texas USA   (08.19.13)
And apparently the French Prez was none too happy with Morsi and his MB crew being treated with violence and contempt by the authorities. The Prince went directly to the press crew and told them that any tampering with moneys and Egyptian security by outside influences would be picked up by Arabs and Muslims, whom he called "rich." Hopefully he reminded the President of France that we all saw the French military invade Africa on the telly. The Egyptian military is simply trying to defend their own country. These are tough times for Imperialism. No easy answers in this very nasty mess.
