Howard Immanuelson ,   US   (08.19.13)
Cue the Jew haters that post here that will say in perfect harmony, "We aren't anti-Semitic, we just hate Zionism (or Israel)"....
2. This time Europe will go down all by itself.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.19.13)
Who would ever have expected guttural mob Jew hatred from cultured Europe? Anyone who knows the first thing about history. Europe is collapsing into backward Islamic tyranny and it wants to take Jews down with it. This time we're not going down with Europe. Europe will descend into barbaric hell all by itself.
3. excellent analysis of modern jew hatred
CJK   (08.19.13)
the eu's attempt to boycott the jewish state is a clear violation of the equality of sovereigns guaranteed by the un charter and a clear discrimination based on national and religious basis. europe's attempt to appease the most vicious and hate filled elements in the muslim world will only encourage those elements in their acts of terror. only a clear denunciation of ilamic terror can be a rational policy.
4. Modern antisemitism?
Yizhak ,   Bene Beraq   (08.19.13)
The more it changes, the more it is the same.States and leaders instead of taking difficult decisions to improve the current crisis are looking for scapegoats.
5. Stealing Arab lands and burning mosques is not anti-Semitism
miki ,   tampa   (08.19.13)
Torching crops, uprooting trees, the deportation of Arab/Israeli citizens because they married the wrong person is not anti-Semitism? Masked gunmen stalking shepards is not anti-Semitism? We are the real Anti-Semites with government ministers generating anti-Semitic policies against another Semitic race - Europe is reacting to our own anti-Semnitism they don't need to use their own.
6. There is always a choice
tiki ,   belgium   (08.19.13)
If Europeans would allow themselves to listen to the part of their brain not manipulated by the media and then have a good look at the Arab countries in turmoil, they will have a glimpse into their own future. If they think that scolding the Jews & appeasing the Muslims will change their fate, they better listen to the Arab Christian cries for help. It's five to twelve.....there is still time but I doubt that most anti Semitic Europeans have understood the message send to them from the Middle East.
7. EU "anti-Semitism"
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (08.19.13)
It is deplorable, perhaps, but understandable. The Holocaust indeed remains an indelible dark stain on the human historical record. But it does not justify the reestablishment of a nation on holy soil when that nation was purged as a consequence the of Passion of Christ by action of The Lord Himself, especially in 70 and 135 AD. This is the real basic source of opposition to the current Zionist state, plain and simple.
8. Nonsense
Dave ,   Sao Paulo, Brazil   (08.19.13)
The European Union boycotted settlements because these are built on lands all relevant international institutions and most sovereign states recognize as belonging to Palestinians. It's a message to Israel that it can`t ignore forever the international community and should start respecting its opinion and the rights of Palestinians. Anti-Semitism is a real problem but you are simply using it as a political tool. This is not only absurd but also quite damaging since it trivializes the meaning of this word. Anti-Semitism is racism towards Jews and not opposition towards Israel unilaterally building on land recognized as belonging to Palestinians. It's like Iran calling people anti-Persian for criticizing its nuclear program - this is an issue of violating international law and not racism!
9. ... and still it goes on ...
Tuvea ,   Chicago   (08.20.13)
The last few responses demonstrate 100% the vileness of the modern anti-Semites. "Stolen Land" "Condemning Jews for the acts of others" It never really does change, does it? The haters want to hate. They will make up any 'reason' to 'justify' their hatred. I hope all those who are anti-Israel boycott ALL ISREALI products. Please start by turning off your electronic devices using any Israeli knowhow. You can live in the 8th century for all I care. But, of course, that sort of boycott wouldn't allow you to steal the products of Jewish minds. Your punishment will come later. Eternity is a very, very long time. And spending it in the smoking section will not make it pleasant. Enjoy the bed you have made for yourself.
10. To # 8
Mike ,   NZ   (08.20.13)
How ignorant can you get !!! The jewish people have had a presence in the holy land for over 2,500 years in fact before Christ. The Palestinians became an entity in 1948 when the British (in their infinite wisdom created Trans Jordon and gifted the West bank to the newly created Palestinians. For gods sake do your maths and then you will see who the real occupiers are !!
11. #7 grazcek. What exactly do you mean by purged?
Phil ,   Ireland   (08.20.13)
Do you mean "purged" of Jews? If so that is a clear example of an Anti-Semitic statement. If you were to "purge" the New Testament of Jews, there would no New Testament! To "purge" the Bible of Jews would destroy it. Jesus Himself stated that Jerusalem would be trodden on by Gentiles UNTIL the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. Luke 21:24. A clear statement as to Gentiles abusing Jerusalem and then the Jews returning to reinstate its status. Paul said G_d HAS NOT rejected His people Israel. Romans 11. And all Israel will be saved. Your ignorance of the New Testament is astonishing.
12. #2 What a tantrum
European   (08.20.13)
just because your settlements won't receive EU funds anymore. Do you also cry antisemitism when you have to pay in a shop?
13. This time the Jews have a home & an army
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (08.20.13)
The Eurotrash can enjoy the many more Drummer Lee Rigbys to come. You earned it
14. Chicken and Egg...one is racism, other legitimate criticism
Steven Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN   (08.20.13)
15. #8 Dave.
Phil ,   Ireland   (08.20.13)
The reason why boycotting settlements is Anti-Semitic is because it singles out Jews as being forbidden to build homes when non Jews are allowed to do so. If it was purely forbidding a state to build homes on another sovereign states land, then fine. But it is not that simple nor is that an acurate assessment of the situation. The land is not sovereign to any state and Jews should NEVER be singled out and banned from building homes anywhere. Unfortunately the EU is trying to hide a clear Anti-Semitic action in the guise of politics.
16. #12 European
Phil ,   Ireland   (08.20.13)
Try comparing like with like. To forbid only Jews to build homes would be just as Anti-Semitic as forcing only Jews to pay in a shop.
17. #15 Phil - not exactly
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (08.20.13)
The land does belong to a sovereign state - ISRAEL. The Treaty of Sevres, San Remo Treaty, Mandate for Palestine and the UN Charter are explicit - it belongs to the Jews
18. to no. 15
Bill ,   NY, US   (08.20.13)
You know very well that the land in question was allocated for an Arab state in Palestine. True, the Arabs who never recognised the right of Israel to exist brought the conflict and the current mess on their heads, but that is not a sufficient legal basis for Israel to build settlements and establish facts on the ground on a land occuppied in a military conflict, even in self-defence. Antisemitism is a problem wherever it exists, but tying European anti-Semitism with pretty much universal non-acceptance of Israeli policies on the West Bank is absurd.
19. "Modern Anti-Semitism"
Israel ,   Haifa   (08.20.13)
Seriously, the reason the EU are boycotting is due to the fact that under international law the settlements and continuation of development is illegal. We cannot keep using this "Modern approach to Anti-Semitism" when the EU or other nations refuse to purchase or participate in Israeli items when we continuasly break international law by the development of settlements. This is not anti-semitism in any way. It's a responce to breaking the law.
20. most everything in this world is a lie
Kaccsintott   (08.20.13)
it's important for each person to think critically, question everything you are taught by school, television, government leaders, religious leaders (of all sorts including secular evolution/global warming religionists), corporations. today with the internet it's possible to find the truth on everything and reach your own conclusions. of course the Europeans are just a dead end remnant of two world wars, welfare sheep raised from birth to be lazy and complacent, and that's not going to improve anytime soon. the jews were already disposed of by them, now they will blame the mohammedans among them for their problems...
21. Yes, but....
Warren ,   Sydney Australia   (08.20.13)
Why isn't Europe boycotting settlements in Australia such as Sydney and Melbourne - cities built on lands brutally stolen from Australia' Aborigines?
22. 1. NOT anti Semitism if Israel commit the crimes
lydia ,   Brisane   (08.20.13)
The "Jew haters" are only calling out Israel's criminal activities ie the blatant violation of some 250UN resolutions. . Israels trials by missiles, indefinite detention and the bombing of unarmed Palestinians, whose only crime is that Israel covet their land.
23. 13. There is always Birobidzhan. Not a ME problem
lydia ,   Brisbane   (08.20.13)
The ME neighbors want to be rid of you.
24. Anti-Jewish racism has never passed from the world, and...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (08.20.13)
...certainly not from Europe; it just subsided after the Second World War and the Jewish Holocaust. And, the image of yesteryear's Jew has been replaced, for now, by the image of the Jew's nation-state, Israel. Hence, the intensification of "anti-Israel" modes of anti-Jewish racism, including the boycotts of the Jews of Israel; citizens of a tiny liberal democratic nation-state in the midst of the dark, cold, stormy and bloody Arab Winter where hundreds of thousands of humans are being slaughtered, but they are not Jewish, hence, let not blame them., goes the European way of thinking.....
25. Start by mowing your own grass
Non Jewish immigrant ,   Haifa   (08.20.13)
You have used so much the antismetism card that it has no meaning anymore. For you, anyone who criticizes Israel or Zionism is an anti Semite. So be it. I'm one of them. The eternal antisemitic complain is passé. You always complain about an antisemitic Europe but keep flowing in en masse for your holiday. Pathetic
26. #8, #19 - Please define "international law"?
Tahl   (08.20.13)
What "international law" in specific, states that all of the West Bank within the Green Line belongs to the so-called "Palestinians"? Where was such a law legislated, and by which forum exactly? Who was signatory? And, on what historical foundations would such a law be premised? Was there ever any historical evidence linking "Palestine" to the so-called "Palestinian" people? I'm very curious to know your interesting interpretation of "international law".
27. Advocating Israel
Alexander Scheiner ,   Israel   (08.20.13)
Since about two years I am actively opposing jewish pro-palestinian NGO's, namely the JVJP.CH. This NGO with swiss origin supports everyting anti-israeli, namely the BDS-Movement. Please revert to my Website, rememberamalek for further Information.
28. Israel must think and move along 22nd century lines..
Calabi ,   Sydney Aust   (08.20.13)
Thank God, I believe Israel is capable to take on the European and never are they like during the hitler era. As long as the Jews think beyond 21st century politics and not to appease the EU and the UN! Otherwise they will gas your thoughts and pressure you to summit to their evil agenda. Once you give an inch in submission they will flood in to destroy you! Psychologically they will be evilly pride in to rule. Israel fight to survive in decency, the European lust, fought and planning to fight to rule. GOD bless Israel
29. #26
Dave ,   Sao Paulo, Brazil   (08.20.13)
I am referring to the Fourth Geneva Convention, which the United Nations Security Council, the United Nations General Assembly, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the International Court of Justice and the High Contracting Parties all affirmed apply to the case of settlements. I however don't think this should be the only basis for stopping settlements, since by simply looking at the situaiton rationally rationally one can get to the conclusion that this project alog with the occupation are unsustainable.
30. dave #8
aaron ,   toronto,canada   (08.20.13)
dave so how come the land between the Jordan river and the sea to the west was given to the jewish nation as their homeland but rejected by the arabs, so who is occupying what land?
