The 9/11 and Boston perps were on legal visas and or citizens. Hopefully, the Aclu stays out of immigration policy at least in the case of Arab/moslems.
2. CIS doing its job. ACLU just being ACLU.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (08.21.13)
The CIS appears to be doing its job. State tends to provide only the most cursory review of visa and immigration applications for those from Muslim countries, and the US takes more "asylum" seekers from Muslim countries than any other country. Marriage fraud to gain citizenship is also not uncommon with this immigrant population. It goes without saying that Islamic terrorism ("violent extremism" in government-speak) and radicalism is an ever present threat from this cohort. I'd suggest that those suspected should simply be deported, but the current administration is of a mind not to deport anyone. Months ago, claiming "sequester" made it too costly to hold those being held for possible deportation, authorities simply ... let them go. As to that Iranian math professor, it's well known that Iran and its Hizbullah proxy are working to establish "cells" in the US, and those with family still in Iran can be pressured to act in ways they might not otherwise. And the ACLU? They're where they usually are: on the wrong side of the issue. There's no fundamental "right" to immigrate to the US, nor a right to citizenship.
3. Let the government do its duty.
A Simple Jew ,   Tel Aviv   (08.21.13)
The government has the right to investigate these people. No one has a right to become a citizen. These people must be able to give a good account of their behavior. Remember the 9/11 hijackers were here on visas, and the Boston bombers were naturalized US citizens. ACLU should look elsewhere for trouble.

Must I remind you that the September 11 hijackers were all here on legal visas? Must I remind you that the Boston Marathon bombers were naturalized United States citizens? This isn't a case of supposed "Islamophobia." This is just reality. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of radical Islamic cells in the United States, plotting dastardly deeds against the country that offered them a safe haven. Let's just make really sure before we take a chance, don't you think? If they are clean, with nothing to hide, they will not mind. Should we go through a repeat of granting citizenship to wanted Nazi war criminals -- many of whom were sentenced to death in absentia? And did we learn nothing from September 11. Moslems represent a clear and present danger to the United States. The facts bear that out. Many do not wish us well. They must be culled from the herd, and decent Moslems should be the last ones to protest the delays as we make sure. Those who get vocal about it? Well, methinks they doth protest too much.
