1. Very disturbing footage
Volvi   (08.21.13)
I scoured Youtube and the footage were very distressing especially with so many children affected. This wasnt staged as one might suspect. But you have to ask why now, especially with the UN team just arriving a few days ago. Would seem rather stupid if conducted by Assad and then could be opportunistic if committed by some elements of the opposition group to shame Assad. Then the reverse could be said Assad using it by saying only the opposition would do it as it would be against his interest to do so, even if he is in fact guilty. Either way its terrible and an eye opener for Israel into what her enemies are capable of amongst themselves let alone their perceived enemies like Israel.
2. Time for the world to act
Ezekial Haim ,   LONDON UK   (08.21.13)
Mr Obama,Cameron,Hollande,Mrs Merkel et al,now is the time to act and stop this human tragedy. It is immaterial which side did it.The powers that be have to act now and stop these disgraceful crimes against humanity. They have got to at least impose a no fly zone, otherwise all of you leaders are guilty of complicity with crimes against humanity and should be tried and jailed.Time for talking is over ,now is the time for action
3. And nobody makes
Helene ,   Merkaz   (08.21.13)
a move.!!!!! Wake up Obama, Putin and the rest of you.... What is going on in this horrible world ??? How many kids how many innocents will have to pay with their life FOR NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. STOP THIS IMMEDIATELY. Down with Assad, down with his associates, Russia, China..... SHAME ON US ALL FOR LETTING THIS HAPPEN
4. Weapons of Mass Destruction
Moshe   (08.21.13)
NOW WILL THE WORLD ADMIT THAT SADDAM HUSSIAN HAD WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION AND WHEN HE WAS CONFRONTED HE SENT THE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION TO SYRIA. NOW SYRIA ARE USING THEM ON THEIR OWN PEOPLE.
5. the face of evil - Assad
robin ,   israel   (08.21.13)
6. #1 the lies are the point...
David V. ,   Sydney   (08.21.13)
...the Assad regime calls itself the regime of "resistance", yet its "resistance" against Israel has amounted to an occupation of Lebanon, and massacres in both Lebanon and Syria. Saddam used similar rhetoric in Iraq, which amounted to the Iran-Iraq War, invasion of Kuwait, and gas attack on Kurds. Arab intervention in Syria is the ONLY solution.
7. Consider the poor stockholders
ASTRONAUT ,   SC, USA   (08.21.13)
who own stocks in WMD/poison gas companies. Do not weep for the fortunes they are raking in. Fact: War is Big Business.
8. Probably just more Pallywood.
Cowboy Joe ,   Calgary, Canada   (08.21.13)
I've seen dead people on stretchers rise up and walk again. Believe me, it wasn't a miracle! You really can't believe any of this propaganda.
9. Massacre
Walid ,   Spain   (08.21.13)
It is time for the world to act on this horrendous massacre. This watching and waiting is no longer acceptable. And Mr. Obama where is your red line? And Israel, where are your moral values?
10. I believe it is time to
Sheik rattle & roll ,   USA   (08.21.13)
kick the tires and lite the fires and get those F-22's and B-1, B-2, B-52'S up in the air. Any war is a human rights violation in my opinion, however when they start shooting missiles with bug spray it's a different ball game.
11. Thousands dead in Syria but the EU and the USA do nothing!
David ,   The Galilee, Israel   (08.21.13)
Obama's "Red Line" has just faded away. Merkel is too busy wither her political survival. The UK and the rest of the spineless EU are far too busy condemning Israel and Egypt, the only countries standing up to Islamic terrorism disguised as the Muslim Brotherhood, and have closed their eyes to the massacre and Syria. Then we have the Russians and the Chinese who will block any action against Assad but again, the weaklings in the Western World will use this as an excuse to do nothing! Much easier to place sanctions on Israel and cut aid to Egypt than facing up to the Russians and the Chinese and telling STOP or we will STOP the investment in your countries, stop buying Russian gas and ban imports from China whose economy is showing signs of weakening.
12. And the world does nothing!
Koose E Mack ,   NY US   (08.21.13)
Where are the Western Powers? US, UK, France, Germany? Why is the world doing so little so late? Assad and his Iranian supporters should have been stopped years ago; before the thousands of corpses piled up!!!!
13. #4 Moshe: maybe you are right but...
David ,   Israel   (08.21.13)
I think that the Russians have supplied Assad with the stuff as they cannot afford his regime to fall. Without Assad Russia will lose its naval base at Tartus and will no longer have a warm water port for its fleet and that would be real bad news for Putin and the Nashe Party!
14. Propaganda
Mark ,   London, UK   (08.21.13)
An attack by poison gas is very serious but propaganda is now unknown. I know the population distribution is different in Syria, but in the video I couldn't see any victim over the age of 30 or so. Nor did I spot any women. Perhaps they put them in another room for the sake of decency.
15. At least they aren't building homes!
Boaz ,   NY USA   (08.21.13)
That would be a war crime.
16. @9 - How?!
Zvi ,   New York   (08.21.13)
Do you think Islamic nations would EVER forgive Israel for stepping in to this conflict? Note that even the Syrian rebels have not publicly asked Israel for help. Of course Israelis cringe at the reports coming out of Syria. Let Turkey, Saudi Arabia and the FSA ask Israel for help publicly. Then just maybe it would be interesting to see a coordinated effort to overthrow this regime.
17. very sad
alsky ,   Toronto   (08.21.13)
where are your red lines President Obama. ? How can freedom loving people/nations continue to let this happen ? There are no easy answers but we must stop the madness now !!!
18. Unfortunate, but we'll not be pulled into another sandpit
Cameron ,   USA   (08.21.13)
19. Kerry will not care !
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (08.21.13)
20. Perfect opportunity
Devorah   (08.21.13)
for Obama to strengthen his rebel buddies in AQ by throwing them more weapons from Libya that can eventually be used against Israel.
21. syria atrocities
sod ,   haifa israel   (08.21.13)
Yes it is sad and horrific to see what is going on in Syria. How often one reads of comments advocating that the western countries must take action. What about an Arab responsefor once? The overthrow of the Assad regime will not automatically end the countries civil war. On that basis I would rather advocate a US policy of inaction and let events transpire as they might in Syria.
22. #4 #13 that's nonsense
(08.21.13)
Syria has its chemical weapons since the 1970s. This is really no secret.
23. Why should Assad do this?
Gregor Samsa   (08.21.13)
Is it in his interest to kill so many civilians with chemical weapons? What's the political or military advantage for him? He is risking to lose the support of Russia, and he is risking that the US et al. starts to join the conflict - at least indirectly. Again: why should Assad do this? He surely is a criminal dictator, but I don't think he's an idiot.
24. Never again!! no arabs no jews no christians
NATAN ,   ISRAEL   (08.21.13)
never again this masive inocent people killing. Please do something all the goverments of the world we can.t only stay watching there are children women and inocent man there. We like a jews can not permit this no mather the religion or nationality we sufer the same think and nobody does nothing!!!!
25. #19 Chris Rettenmoser
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (08.21.13)
No. Because building appartments in the Israeli capital is much more dangerous.
26. Makes me sick!
Ilan ,   Toronto, Canada   (08.21.13)
on so many levels! first , those who believe this to be fake. I don't know its not fake, but when Israel is involved, everyone is 110% sure its not fake. now all of a sudden, hmm, maybe it could be fake, i don't think Assad is stupid. on the other hand yeah, the idf is definitely evil, that video or photo, is definitely real! second, no one seems to really care! no protesting in front of embassies , no world leader doing anything about it! not trying to verify it, make sure its not fake. just don't care! apparently, for Obama, nothing is EVER taken off the table. My government is also Silent or maybe too busy prosecuting a cop who shot a Syrian twerp with a knife. As a Jew, no, As a human my heart breaks when stuff like this happends anywhere in the world including gaza! only i'm smart enough to know who to truly blame! not the IDF, but Hamas who puts civilians lives at risk on purpose for world sympathy. and NOT Assad, those who do nothing while evil triumphs.
27. # 22
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (08.22.13)
It's no secret that Saddam moved a lot of stuff to Syria. We gave him plenty of time. Syria may have had chemical weapons in the 70's but now they have a lot more. #'s 4 and 13 are correct.
28. Gregor # 23
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (08.22.13)
Any dictator and many governments will do anything to stay in power when their backs are to the wall. They feel they have nothing to lose or just plain don't care. Russia will NOT withdraw support. In time they will attempt to invade Israel from the north. They could care less what Assad does to his people. The U.S. won't do much because we have a inept stumble bum of a president that keeps moving his red lines all over the place.
29. Eaglebeak #28 Do you care what Assad does to his people?
Cameron ,   USA   (08.22.13)
Answer honestly.
30. DO NOT WORRY!
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (08.22.13)
Suadi king will add another gold plated toilet bowl to his bathroom in the memory of these children and then will blame Israel for all of this. He has all US advanced hardware to fight in Syria. What is he waiting for? Hope USA won't fall for this stupid trick. Why would Assad use gas while UN is visiting? Something is up.
