Being a liberal Jew from the United States, I often have cynical and jaded thoughts when I read about the muslims, suni, shia all killing themselves and each other. I'm all for the 2-state solution. But I don't know if that will ever solve anything. There is so much bitter enmity and hatred. Look at all the strife now in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt, Libya. It's almost mind-boggling. Maybe the only way forward is a division of the Arab states along ethnic or tribal or sectarian lines. Clearly it is difficult for the various ethnic groups to live together without being supressed by an authoriatorian dictator,... Very Sad!
