milson   (08.23.13)
this stooge, who our trash minnister olmert trusted with his judgement in his rear end with zero knowledge of defensible borders, zero, this erdogan who assad showed to be a coward in running to nato to protect poor turkey from assad. His hands were dirty with the marmora in colluding with them to attack idf commando. Erdogan was in on it and funded them. so when obama asked bibi to apologize, the only one who objected was leiberman. Of course the media, bibi and the courts felt it should be done because they are all gutless deep in the core which is why more jews did not fight in world war ll, axes, sticks, ambushes of nazis. This erodan belongs in jail. Instead the good general basburg is there. Bibi, here is what you do. Obama says apologize, you say no. Obama says release prisoners unilaterally, you say no. Was it that hard, you gutless olmert!

Katy, your comment shows you for the ignorant dolt that you are. Erdogan is nothing but an Islamic dictator and he is personally responsible for the deaths of many many Kurds in his country. Erdogan is a vile anti semitic thug and the fact that you like him lets everyone on this message board know how truly pathetic you and those who think like you really are
34. Did anyone see any tears???
Karl ,   Roseville, CA   (08.23.13)
I did not see him crying. I saw him wipe his eyes with a handkerchief. I didn't see his eyes were even watery. Not a good actor.

Where was Erdogan's humanity when thousands were killed in Darfur by teh government of Omar Al Bashir? Do you know that Bashir who is waned all around the world for crimes against humanity is only welcomed in a few countries and one of them is Turkey? Erdogan has welcomed him on red carpet many times. Where is his humanity when it comes to the people of Darfur?
37. Erdogan the merciful!

First you take the thumb and place it between the index finger and the middle finger. Then you take the other hand and wrap it around and vigorously poke it through making it snap twice on the wrist. Pop pop!

39. I'm good with language ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.24.13)
... but not poetry. Perhaps someone out there can craft a wonderful poem recounting the tribulation of the massacre of over a million Armenians by the Turks. Read it to Erdogan on national television. Anyone have odds on whether Erdogan would shed a single tear? Me, I'm betting he'd smirk or walk off the stage in haughty disdain. His empathy is highly selective. And it certainly does not extend to Armenians or Jews. He's a fraud and a phony and his colon cancer appears to have metastasized to his brain. Well, as I've pointed out before -- it really did not have too far to travel.

...sorry but you are a little bit unfocused in your latest comment. I suggest that you consult one or two Israeli historians specilized in Ottoman history and also modern Turkish history. It is well known and also documented that there were a number of Antisemitic pogroms (with deadly outcome!) in the 1800s in Ottoman Turkey - undertaken by Armenians. The Jewish population finally got sound protection from the Turkish authorities in those instances. You also forget the Armenian cooperation with Nazi-Germany. Why can´t you just TRY to be a little bit more balanced Sarah??

In the legal world, precedent speaks all. I am extraordinarily pleased to see that you -- at least, or less -- acknowledge that the Turkish government did massacre at least a million Armenians. We gave your pompous idiot Erdogan an "apology." That does not mean that we do not know the truth. You're backing a lame horse, sweetie. Not a good idea. You see, Israel has never committed genocide. Can you say the same for your pathetic country? No. You cannot. Stay your foolish hand from the keyboard, honey, unless you really want me to trash you and your imaginary "facts." Rumor has it you are "touched."

You had better check your facts. It was the TURKS that cooperated with Nazi Germany. Please try to be just a bit more balanced, can't you?

As a person who studied Turkish history in Turkish schools in Izmir let me give you some historical facts: The Armenians pogroms as you stated (actually they were Passover time Christian blood libels) were indeed controlled by the Ottoman sultan. However the Jewish followers of Sabetay Sevi were shunned and sent to Crete (Girit) and forced to become Muslims more or less around the same time. In 1935 - 1936 there were Pogroms in Trakya (Kirklareli, Babaeski, Edirne) against Jews where a relative of mine was stabbed on his face. The military that was outside Kirklareli did not intervene until must Jews left the town. In 1941 there were two events against Jews: 1) The 20th draft military service which was really sending young Jewish man to labor camps in Afyon and Yozgat (My father who had already served 2 years of military service was sent again to Afyon) 2) Teh Varlik Vergisi which took all the money and belongings up to their kitchen pots and pans from Jews and Armenians. Those who could not pay were sent to Askale labor camp where a close relative of mine at the age of 65 was sent. I am old enough to remember the 1955 September 6-7 pogroms against Jews but we were lucky to have righteous Muslim neighbors Mustafa Bey and Macide hanim) who stood by the door and did not allow the rioters come and get us. During WW II Turkey was among the biggest importers of Nazi Germany. M.A.N. Diesel and electric buses and trucks were purchased by every big municipality.
45. To Sarah B and to David Israel
Ahmed   (08.24.13)
1) Sarah: The Turks did not participate with armed forces joining the German Nazi forces. This was the case with Armenians. And you know it damn well. The so called "Turkish Genocide" policy is nowadays mainly perpetrated by France, one of the biggest Genocidal nations in human history. And still they hail the psychotic massmurderer Napoleon Bonaparte. His Megalomania paved the way for the French-German war in the 1870s, WWI and WW2. This apart from this, THE OGRE (quote Lord Wellington the liberator of Europe) was slaughtering the rest of Europe for decades. Any FRENCH official apologies on their way...ehr? 2) To David, you are right about the Pogroms you mentioned, and also in Thrace in the same period of time did you see antisemitic pogroms. This is well documented. The Ottoman Empire - which we were discussing, on the other hand served as a safe haven for the very majority of Jewish subjects - especially when confronted by savage antisemitic Armenians.
46. To balanced Sarah B
Ahmed   (08.24.13)
Just to remind you, in relation to what you wrote to Antoun "Deut 20:17 but thou shalt utterly destroy them: the Hittite, and the Amorite, the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite; as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee." Now you can argue that there is no collective guilt. I agree. You can agree that this was divinely ordered. Hmm

So sorry, but I looked back only as far as World War II. When the Turks were definitely in bed with Nazi Germany. Divinity has absolutely nothing to do with Turkish calumny. Got anything else, chico?

Excuse me, but we are not looking at what the Armenians did with respect to Nazi Germany. We are looking at what the Turks did with respect to the Armenians. I know all about Armenian collaboration with the Nazis. I also know what happened to the Armenians at the hands of the Turks. Do you think that Armenian cooperation with the Nazis erases the stain of Turkish genocide? It doesn't.
50. Sarah B - visit Yad Vashem
Ahmed   (08.24.13)
If you haven´t been there yet (?) - I have. Almost at the end of exhibition, there is a very illustrative and honest display over from WHERE and from which countries, the Nazi extermination camps where fed with Jewish victims. Go and study it carefully. It says alot. (And then you can have another of your well known and auto-displayed fits)
