The whole article is based on arguments(largely irrelevant) against "land for peace" which is just a soundbite used years ago to try to sell a peace deal. A peace treaty is a comprehensive document meant to settle all remaining disputes between warring parties, land being only one of many sections of an agreement. The withdrawal from Lebanon and Gaza are irrelevant because they were done without any agreement. The peace treaties with Egypt and Jordan are better comparisons and both seem to be holding up better than expected. Any agreement with the Palestinians will be more complex though, really quite different to anything tried before. Can it be done? Only history will tell. But yes, the current situation in the Middle-east is very unconducive for peace.
