Ron, you might very well be right. Assad may not want to attack Israel, but then again he might. Certainly didn't stop Sadam H. firing Scuds in '91 at Israel. Bottom line though is that is really easy for someone on the US West Coast to make that bet with Israeli Lives, after all it isn't downtown Seattle that will get the chemical missiles and artillery. assad is both stupid and a psychopath. he will most likely do the stupidest thing he could think of. iran is most likely trying to figure out what to do. iran will want to attack israel. so assad and hezbollah will attack. no matter what happens, israel cannot avoid this war. it is inevitable. israel cannot live under constant threat wondering when the hammer will fall. unfortunately the big o is a vile and cowardly creature. he might do the worst of all possible choices, namely, fire a few missiles into syria without destroying assad's war capabilities. that would leave Israel to face the music on her own.
