1. Norway's oil fund can reinvest in Israel firms
Lazerbenabba ,   London, England   (08.26.13)
The only reason that the so called Norwegian sovereign wealth fund wish to resurrect investing in the companies involved in the Israeli oil and gas industry is purely a cynical manipulation of their own self interest. As with China, Arab oil producers etc, there is a dearth of opportunities for their massive revenues to be reinvested. I would suggest that Israel, if it has any self belief, that they should tell the Norway in no uncertain terms to keep their hypocritical attitude and money and put it in Gaza where I am sure their return will be zilch.
2. Who is imposing conditions on whom?
Bill ,   New York, USA   (08.26.13)
#1 is right. There is a dearth of projects with a reliable, high Net Present Value. Israel is sitting on a bunch of them between energy and tech. While I understand there is no place for stating that an investor in a project must agree with all host country policies, would it be too much to ask to screen for BDS investor policies or to require renunciation of BDS policies and initiatives?
3. How can you "vet" shares buyers?
M. Davison ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (08.26.13)
Since the Norwegian Oil Fund investment is via shares traded on various stock markets, how are you going to filter your share buyers? No fund buys on their own, it's all done through brokers and portfolio managers--the actual buyer is known only to the broker or portfolio manager.
4. Did Leviev or his staff comply?
SG ,   Teaneck   (08.28.13)
How does Norway know what Africa Israel's intent is? Whether to do work in Yehudah and Shomron or not? If Leviev or his minions complied with Norway's insidious efforts, they are to be excoriated.
5. Test norway first !

Let's send them, say, 30k Sudanese and Eritreans - to check how they treat minorities. It would be shame to feed them all those juicy dividends if their hooman-wright record (33⅓ rpm) is still scratched.
