You are right!
32. Terrible Analytical Conclusion.
Roberto ,   Montreal, Canada   (08.29.13)
Your logic is bizarre. We shouldn't have apologized to Turkey, so let's get pissed at the Europeans, and support the settlements even more. Huh?!
33. Weakness or simple lip service
Talula ,   Israel   (08.29.13)
I'm going with the lip service scenario. We said what they wanted to hear - was there a heartfelt apology behind it? Bet your life there wasn't.
34. bibi apology is because he gutless
marv   (08.29.13)
bibi personally is gutless which is why obama easily persuaded him. Erdogan is full of crap, all know it but bibi and even barak wanted to apologize, humiliate israel so that turkey would make nice. Well barak is thankfully gone, amridor, a lousy security advisor is gone and bibi willl soon be gone. He is not needed one bit as feiglin, bennett, liberman, yaalon, shamir, lapid have far more grit. if israel were to elect labour, or livni as PM it would be a bloody disaster as they would repeat oslo.
35. Bomber Hagai Segal never apologized for killing, wounding

37. Sorry for apologizing
George Weiss ,   Teaneck, USA   (08.29.13)
An apology can also be withdrawn. Also, Amara had very little to do with Erdogan's attitude towards Israel.

1) I don't want the Turkish economy to go bad, I still have relatives and friends there whom I want to have the best. I am only stating the facts. Turkish economy is not well managed. It is too dependent on foreign (hot) money that can fly away very quickly and we saw it happen a few weeks ago. 2) Many Turks are very smart and would not want to get into the Syrian mess but the other half is AKP supporters. They are irrational and act based on emotions rather then intelligent thinking as we saw in Mavi Marmara.
39. who cares
arne ,   chicago usa   (08.29.13)
this is the least of Israel's problems.let the turks have it and they can stick it up their bizakiss

but for once i completely agree with that nerd. being attacked, our boys nearly killed by those terrorists, and turn around to apologise for defending their lives....? and bb thought he can "please" that head terrorist? oh..sorry. i almost forget how he APOLOGISED to the kurdish people for butchering a million of them.
41. Israel's apology
mustafa ,   Palestine   (08.29.13)
Israeli attack on Mavi Marmara was a big mistake, and therefore it is no surprise that you are paying the price now. I hope this will make Israeli officials act more responsibly next time. best

anton ,   istanbul   (08.29.13)
you may remember the day after syrian mortars hit hatay i posted here its not in turkes interest to jump in war with syria aside from economic point of view syria can turn whole middleeast upside down this action plan of west is just plain stupid noone in west cares for innocents in syria even kids would laugh to that, tayyips pro brotherhood stance as well as religion affiliated statements is equally stupid , my personal opinion of whole syria mess is that west is tryin to twist both russians and irans arms by removing assad im not even sure assad used chemicals mavi marmara is long gone it was discussed here many times and seems we cant go anywhere on that subject that ships mismanaged by israel and was wrong to sail into danger zone to begin with

Israel will be lot better off.
44. #26 Of course it created a trauma, it wasn't enough,
A ,   Belgium   (08.29.13)
A firm NO and a spit in the eye of Erdogan the megalomaniac would have been a better reponse and easier for the lameTurks to understand.
45. Sorry for apologizing
Brett ,   Florida   (08.29.13)
Did you mean Netanyahu is a sorry puppet? Or he is sorry he insulted the IDF, and made a fool of Israel for the world to see?

between dishonor and hostile relations Bibi chose dishonor, and now he is getting hostility. Very uncharacteristic of Bibi, he knows better
48. shame on THE Israelis, who are still going for vac. toTurkey
(08.30.13)
shame on THE Israelis, who are still going for vac. to Turkey and making business with the enemy- thus strengthen them only !! OPEN UP YOUR EYES !
49. erDOGan
CT ,   Vienna / Austria   (08.30.13)
as a turkish citizen i dont take this guy serious because there is no reason to take even 1 monologue of him serious, he causes a big danger for the secular republic, he is really disgusting, i couldnt even read any turkish newspapers for the last few years because of him!!
50. israel is not our enemy
dogan ,   istanbul-turkey   (08.30.13)
As a turkish citizen, we don't see israel as an enemy. They follow way of prophet Moses. And we also like and love Prophet Moses and we think he is one of biggest prophet. The jewish people suffered too much in the past. They also have right to protect them from foes. Muslims don't especially hate jewish or israel individual. The main reason of hate is Palestine issue. If peace will occur , then all hatred and enmity will be finish in no time.
51. find ways to publicly "dis" Erdogan to show that Israel does
Rafi ,   US   (08.30.13)
... not accept his BS. Be sure that the responses are directed specifcally @ Erdogan and his stooge foreign minister - and NOT at the Turkish people as a whole. An apology to an anti-Semitic demagogue was obviously a mistake.
52. #35
(08.30.13)
Steve Benassi,As usual you come on here with your usual antiIsrael/semitic accusations which are totally unfounded. Hagai Segal is not the same person[with the same name] who bombed an Arab mayors car. You keep telling bloodlibels against this author. I would say shame on yo, but in your hate for Israel and the Jewish people you obviously have no shame.
53. Dogan from Istanbul
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (08.30.13)
Thank you for the nice post. As you may remember (if you are old enough) in year 2000 Israel and Yaser Arafat met at Camp David to make peace. Israel agreed to the creation of a Palestinian Arab state next to the Palestinian Jewish state of Israel in the entire Gaza, 96% of West Bank + Israeli swap land for the 4% with tha capital in east Jerusalem. Unfortunately Arafat refused it. Peace can only be achieved with the state of Israel, not by destroying Israel. Dogan kardes, please preach some peace to your Muslim Arab brothers. If they take your advice there can be peace with Israel.
54. Anton - I can explain lame
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (08.30.13)
Turkey today has huge problems of her own. Only yesterday pm Erdogan made yet another divisive s

Where are you living mr. segal? In a cave? These thoughts are not nationalist these are very racist and wrong.. Thank god you are not the prime minister of israel.
56. Mistake
Chaim   (08.30.13)
"Europe will think twice before declaring another boycott. It may even cause Erdogan to rethink his attitude towards Israel." I think Mr Segal is indulging himself in wishful thinking. Sympatethic, but futile.
57. #50 dogan
solomon ,   bklyn   (08.31.13)
Read some history about the "Pal" issue. Read how they insisted they were not Palestinians...until they changed their mind in the 1960's. Read the charters of Hamas, Hezbollah and the PA if you want to learn where the enmity comes from.
58. #41 mustafa
solomon ,   bklyn   (08.31.13)
The irresponsibility came from the Mavi Marmara. You cannot deny the videos. You tried. You lost. End of story. Try to act more responsibly.
59. apology for USA not ISRAEL
david wolgroch ,   london   (08.31.13)
THE ISRAELI APOLOGY WAS NOT INTENDED TO IMPROVE RELATIONS BETWEEN ISRAEL AND TURKEY, BUT TO ENSURE TURKISH SUPPORT FOR AMERICAN INTERESTS! THAT IT DID AT ISRAEL'S EXPENSE. PERHAPS ISRAEL GOT SOMETHING ELSE FROM THE USA?
