Just by bombing all they can do is damage the infrastructure, which is already in ruins. If they want to get rid of Assad, they need to go in, which is out of question after what happened in Iraq. But why would they want to get rid of Assad? What will be the benefit? Wasn't the lesson they got after removing Saddam enough? No way anybody can gain from bombing Syria. Looking at the circumstancies, the best solution would be if Assad would regain control with a status quo.

The US military is great at being the broom that cleans up other countries messes (not surprisingly, Britain and France), but aren't very good at cleaning up their own messes: Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.
