Another war another dollar. What's it all about ? What's it going to achieve? End result, more than likely, a Syria run by Al Qeada

which side in the Syrian blood bath will be pro-American? the one with Russia and Iran and Hezbollah full throttle behind them? or the one with the jihadists and al-Qaida doing their killings with them? the west must stay out of this.

4. Obama: "we don't want regime change."
David ,   Hartford USA   (08.28.13)
My gosh the man is an idiot! Of course we want regime change. Assad has killed over 100,000 of his own citizens trying to 'save' the country from ...it's own citizens! Yes, it's a shame that al Qaida stooges have co-opted the revolution, but they can be dealt with after Assad is removed. With Obama saying "we don't want regime change," he's telling the world that sh-t-for-brains dictators are ok with him as long as they follow a few rules. HELLOOOO? Anybody inside that empty head of yours, Mr. Obama? Assad MUST go- immediately. The UN must go in and form a caretaker government. And if Mr. Assad lets loose any rockets towards Israel, then his dynasty will, thankfully, be over. As for the picture of Israelis lining up for their gas masks, is there ANY other country in the world that has to worry about this type of sh-t? NO! Maybe Catherine Ashton and all the other Israel haters can visit Tel Aviv in the next 48 hours to enjoy the activities the Muslim countries will be showering down on Israel. Maybe then these idiots will realize that Israel is not dealing with sane, rational people, and that peace is simply not in the cards. You can bet that if Assad launches missiles at Israel, Nasrallah won't be able to hold himself back from doing the same. The IDF has America's BLESSING to send Nasrallah, Hizbollah, and Assad to their waiting virgins.

I think in this case Obama is desperate not to get involved out of fear of things might not go as planned and he will end up with another Iraq on his hands but even though the American pubic want him to stay out of it international pressure is to much for him so he has to do something. Hopefully this will not consist of more than a week or so of missile attacks against some military sites in Syria and a few tough talking speeches from Obama. With any luck he has told the Russians exactly what the plan is and to pass it onto Assad with a warning that this is going to hurt but the aim is not toppling you here so be passive and don't let it go to the next level then I will be able to call the whole thing off and provided you don't use chemical weapons again then I will just let you get back to business as usual fighting a civil war. It is true though America has no allies in Syria. The different rebel groups might pretend will end their alliances and start killing each other once Assad goes and they will not have any love of the US. al Quaida, Hezbollah, islamists they will all want their piece of the pie. Obama has no friends there and if as I imagine he will and this is only a half hearted measure the Syrians will hate him even more because they want him to remove Assad for them.

That seems like a pretty reliable prediction to me......well, in as far as any predictions can ever be reliable!

the most horrendous killing tool - poisonous gas - remember the Holocaust anyone? - to rouse some world action. And mark you they are still hanging around for "consent" from the (in)-Security Council. Strange, I always thought that prevention was better than cure. But cancer like this is coming to be terminal...
8. if america wants to punish the responsible party
gamal ,   yaffa   (08.28.13)
for the chemical attacks it should be bombing teheran-where assad's order come from. But he has no balls nor brains for that. Russians will not intervene-they need america more than they let on and have problems with muslim extremists of their own.
9. the obvious course of action

Obama should declare neutrality and be on the side of the Syrian people. He should give ALL foreign fighters 48 hours to withdraw and then attack them. Hezbollah, Al Qaeda, Iranians all. This will help destroy the worst elements without "interfering" in the civil war. or provoking Assad.

"Assad has killed over 100,000 of his own citizens." Are not the "rebels" capable of of killing? What is the body count?
