1. The goal of "peace talks" is downright evil.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.29.13)
If "peace talks" between Israel and the P.A. are successful, Israel would lose our Eternal Capital of Jerusalem, and our ancestral heartland of Judea and Samaria and would be reduced to a 9 mile wide concentration camp. The goal of these "peace talks" is downright evil. We must NEVER let this happen!
2. Dancing
Peter ,   US   (08.29.13)
Why are they enemy civilians?
3. make them read the story of
mea   (08.29.13)
eleven soldiers murdered in Hebron in 2002 or so. Idiots.
4. Losing the place in Hebron
Israeli grandma   (08.29.13)
It would be truly wonderful if there were genuine peaceful coexistence with the Arabs, but these soldiers seem to have a big gap in their education. Did they never learn the history of the terrible massacre of Jews in Hebron during the times of the British Mandate rule? Jews who had lived in Hebron for generations were slashed to death with swords, women raped and others had limbs cut off. Check it in the history books.
5. Israel liberated Judea & Samaria from enemy occupation...
History Buff   (08.29.13)
Israel captured the West Bank in a 1967 war, land where Palestinians seek a state, which is the goal of US-backed peace talks resumed last month after a three-year stalemate.
6. Did they abandon IQ-testing before recruiting into IDF?
tom ,   tel aviv   (08.29.13)
7. Loved the video
Los Angeles USA   (08.29.13)
As nob Arab & non-Israeli I found the video quite touching, showing both sides dancing. We hope to see more of this scenes than what we've seen from extremists on both sides. The soldiers should be rewarded.
8. Yes, but
Mike Carmel ,   Rishon le Zion   (08.29.13)
Whilst it may seem a bit harsh to classify those Palestinian chaps as "enemy civilians" the soldiers were being completely irresponsible and putting themselves in unnecessary danger. It could have ended badly. Thank God it didn't.
9. This video makes you smile, it is touching and gives hope.
Gabor ,   Budapest, Hungary   (08.29.13)
Despite the fact that this story could have ended really bad, this is the proof that peaceful coexistence can be reality.
10. The horrors of Israeli occupation
daniel ,   amsterdam   (08.29.13)
11. no mixing please
rm ,   NL Amsterdam   (08.29.13)
every palestinian is an enemy-civillian..... yeah with that mindset peace will be a breeze
12. Last paragraph needs editing; recaptured Judea & Samaria
hipocrates ,   earth   (08.29.13)
from Jordan. There you go Reuters Arab Oil Money.
13. Dancing is a way to get closer
Lasita ,   Santa Fe, USA   (08.29.13)
I am sorry those troops are being punished. Such behavior builds closer ties and is good for morale.
14. demonstration of priorities
Michael Lesher ,   Passaic NJ, USA   (08.29.13)
Had the soldiers killed people at the party, the incident would have been ignored. Had they arrested and tortured some of them, they would have been promoted. Instead, they danced with them -- and have been disciplined. Meanwhile, many readers seem to wish the punishment had been even greater. It's not hard to discern Israeli priorities from discussions like this one.
15. # 11 is for no #14
Farren ,   Israel   (08.29.13)
Sorry I made an error.
16. Exposed themselves to catching a thrown garter.
Golden Dome ,   Washington, USA   (08.29.13)
Unnecessary danger, agreed. But next time at least come with a card or gift.
17. #13 Not only should they be punished, they should be
A ,   Belgium   (08.30.13)
expelled from the IDF. What kind of idiotic garbage are these so called "soldiers" who let themselves be sucked in by the enemy? And the "palestinian" is still a greater enemy to Israel than Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan/"palestine". Maybe their friend Abbas will plead for their defense.
18. Really Really Stupid
A Really Simple Jew ,   Ramat Gan   (08.30.13)
I would definitely discipline these idiots. Evidently, they never heard of Giliad Shalit, and they never heard of Arabs killing Israeli soldiers. They should spend a few months cleaning toilets and standing guard duty in the hottest, most desolate base the IDF can find.
