not that I like Sarah's comments, BUT: The US invests a lot of money, arguably a lot more than we Israelis do, the thing is that they still don't understand the Middle East. They have no clue about the culture, the religions and thinking of both mediterraean Jews and Moslems. Neither do Europeans, although they start to get a glimpse because they have so many Moslems now among their mids. I am still convinced that Jews and Arabs here understand each other better (meaning: knowing what the other is about) than the US. So forget the US, start trying to find an answer yourself.
