I hope there will be no US led strike on Assad. Because let's face it Assad is a menace, but the alternatives are far worse. We could see Sunni islamists take over the country, who see it as their holy duty to attack Israel. We could see a intervention by Iran creating a second Lebanon via the use of Hezbollah or another method. Assad may be pro-Iran, but for his own selfish reasons remember he is still a secular Alawite not a islamist. The enemies of Israel want to see a US led strike, because it will get rid of the thing that stands in their way of attacking Israel and as for Iran, an attack will give them an oppurtunity to get a much tighter grip on Syria. This entire so called Arab Spring is about Israel, nothing more the Islamist want to take over to wage a holy war with Israel with state resources.

It's a close call, but I wouldn't trust anything ketchup-cunt-dominated John Kerry spews forth that's for sure.

i hope that obama will carry through. the assad regime is both abysmally criminal and an ally of the devils in iran. assad had many chances to save his regime but he is a psychopath and quite stupid as is his brother. arguments to the effect that islamists might take over syria do not worry me too much. the worst of the lot is in the north of syria. should the rebels win, one might hope that a reasonable government will emerge. what is absolutely essential is the securing of the chemical weapons and the destruction of their means of production. shabbat shalom v'shana tova.
