So in the future year one can murder, rape, spit, throw dirty diapers, etc. because "Once saved, for a year saved!" I see where it comes from! Torah declares that you're accountable for your transgressions. Teshuvah and Kipur is about clearing PAST transgressions for a new slate, NOT a future year. The earliest extant text of the Kol Nidre is about vows of the past year, NOT vows of the future year. If you insist on "traditional" foolishness, then Christian foolishness -- "Once saved, always saved" -- beats this Torah-contradicting Jewish foolishness.
