1. Two backstabbers picking on their ole friend
2Mad ,   גולה בצרפת   (09.01.13)
While saudi and obama are pimping up al-quaeda, doggy man is looking for a final solution to Kurdish problem... Wondering if he's aware that with friends like those - he could swing the rope as well.
2. Mr Big Mouth tell that to Chinese & Russians!
(09.01.13)
By the way You Will Not Take Over! Israel & Iran are the 2 regional powers. Shut Up Already!
3. I think Turkey...
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (09.01.13)
should lead the way.
4. i have a compromise to make everybody happy
zionist forever   (09.01.13)
Obama just wants minimalist intervention, just enough to give Assad a short sharp shock for his use of chemical weapons. Erdogan wants an all out war to get rid of Assad. As both want different things maybe a compromise is possible. Obama will do bare minimum like he wants whilst Erdogan will fund with Turkish money a full scale military operation and he will send Turkish soldiers to do the fighting, everybody is happy except Turkish taxpayers and the families of dead Turkish soldiers.
5. Shocking statement..
Sheik rattle & roll ,   USA   (09.01.13)
I don't believe these clowns. Almost the entire world criticizes Obama for delaying a strike, however not one country except the French offered some assistance. It is disgusting that the only country in the world that is considering doing something is the US with token support from the French. Israel, Jordan, Turkey should be ashamed of themselves.
6. Turkey/Syria
observer13 ,   Toronto, Canada   (09.01.13)
Instead of talking, he should act. Turkey has a big enough army to be able to deal with any eventualities in Syria. What it doesn't have are the guts and determination to do it. Talk is cheap.
7. Yes!Erdogan wants Al Nusra to take over like MB should Egypt
Alan ,   SA   (09.01.13)
He wants his fellow traveller Islamists to take power in ALL middle East!
8. Erdogan put up or shut up it's your border not ours!
Deal with it ,   Usa   (09.01.13)
9. Erdogan
Joshua ,   USA   (09.02.13)
Wow! This is the first time I agree on anything with that asshole! Why don't you put your money where your mouth is and lead by example? Let's see the Turkish Army (ha, ha - there's a funny joke) attack Assad forces and remove him from power. I am sure that the rest of the world will cheer you up. LOL
10. #5 The only country that the Syrians have targeted,
A ,   Belgium   (09.01.13)
besides themselves, has been Israel. Turkey is not only a non-player, but also a pain in the a$$. Erdogan has proven himself as a nobody, Israel doesn't need him or his vocal flatuations for anything.
11. 3.
Birdi ,   Israel   (09.02.13)
Yes! get the popcorn & your favourite armchair ready Eagle. Turkey at war with Syria would make a perfect sight to see!
12. Change regime or stay out
Dan   (09.02.13)
The US has said it is not interested in regime change. What then is the point of an attack? It would give both Assad and his Islamist enemies a gift, allowing them to pose as victims and call for retaliation against the West. Western Islamists would add Syria to their list of grievances. Either change regimes, thus breaking the Iranian axis, or don't add fuel to the fire with pointless gestures.
13. Why must the US be involved?
John ,   NY USA   (09.02.13)
As an American, I would like to know why we must be involved, let alone take the lead? People on both sides of this conflict, danced in the streets to celebrate 9/11. Some of the rebel forces, fought against US soldiers in Iraq. They wanted us out of the Middle East then. Let Turkey, The Arab League countries and anyone else so inclined to go right ahead and attack Syria. I hope our country has the wisdom to sit this one out.

israel should be ashamed of themselves, YOU MORON. israel and syria have been at war, thanks to syria and its totalitarian despots for over 65 years. please do tell us, oh briny one, why should israel, at war and hated by syrians, intervene in a fight it has neither perpetrated, neither supported and neither interested in getting involved in. if it does get involved and sets one foot on syrian territory, i bet you the arab league and all these insane muslims will scream bloody murder and retaliate against israel. israel is the only country that is not islamic in that region. so, please, leave it out to live in peace and get off our backs.
15. Erdogan is right
Dan   (09.02.13)
Erdogan is an Islamist idiot but on this, he's right. A strike aimed, as Obama and Kerry have specifically said, not at regime change but only at punishment, would be a gift to Assad and all anti-Western forces in the Arab world, including Assad's Islamist enemies - they would double their cries for jihad against Western 'aggression', and their allies in the West would add Syria to their grievances. Either change regimes, breaking the Iranian axis, or don't add fuel to the fire with pointless gestures.

Spot on matey. The Turkey has no balls .Wants the US to do the fighting for him. He is just a big mouth, must be a bit embarrassing for the real men.
18. Turkey is trying to bait the states into another Iraq!!!
Ilan ,   Toronto, Canada   (09.02.13)
everyone knows western mentality isn't built for that kind of war. iraq, afganastan, gaza. you can't fight the entire population without killing them, and they know as long as they don't put on uniforms you cant touch them. they take advantage of it! you can't kill their leader, because he's a made up deity, an idea that's untouchable! unlike the idea of freedom and democracy and human rights! Egypt and Syria have proven that they will not let human shields get in the way. the same concept Israel gets condemned for, even though it secedes to human shields all the time!! A prolonged war in Syria will have Al Assad use human shields up until the last man! it was already reported that al assad put prisoners on buses and moved them to use as human shields to protect his military assets! Turkey knows this will happen, and AFTER it happens, they will twoface america to the brink of isolationism! Even worse, what evil awaits in the shadow? Better the Evil you know! give him a little spanking, and get out of there! (end)
19. Attacking Assad
Simon ,   Burbank, U.S.A.   (09.02.13)
If Tayyip Erdogan wants the U.S. to attack Syria, then obviously it's a bad idea.
20. Turkey should not get involved
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (09.02.13)
Erdogan is very eager to invade Syria. Many Turks belive that Syria must be part of Turkey and they too are very eager to invade Syria. However I hope that Zturkey stays out of this for two reasons. 1. Once turkey invades Syria they will suffer many casualties by Syrian insurgents which is not good for turkey. 2. It is better for Israel to have Arab controlled Syria rather than having erdogan wnd AKP ruledTurkey as a neighbor. Also I personally prefer the current Assad/Baas regime in Syria over the opposition ultra religious and Al Kaida.
21. Is Turkey fighting or talking?
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (09.02.13)
This isn't a simple 'blockade' busting attempt that failed. Erdogen demands a lot and does nothing but cry like a baby when he loses, ( which is often.) Big mouth small brain. BUILD FASTER!!!
22. # 3 Eaglebeak Me too but,
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (09.02.13)
hard to follow a coward like obama.
23. Yes, talk is cheap War is expensive.
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (09.02.13)
and Erdogen is a girlie under all that bluster, he couldn't fight his way out of the bathroom.
24. @5
(09.02.13)
i should remind you that israel DID IN FACT TAKE ACTION: 1. recently it bombed the entire wmd and nerve gas loaded on missiles sent by the syrians to hizbullah. they all went poof because of israel's bombardment of that shipment on the way from damascus to the bekka valley in lebanon. 2. israel bombed a couple of years ago, using turkish air space, the entire new syrian nuclear reactor built by north korea where some north korean advisors were killed in the blast. no response from syria. israel came, poof! and went. so, please, leave israel alone. it has zero to be ashamed of but your bumbling president and empty incompetent suit had muddled the middle east and set it on fire due to his insane and naive and dangerous geopolitical foreign policies.

(09.02.13)
unfortunately, it is too late for erdogan's army. after all, the minute he assumed power, he arrested all the top turkish military and air force generals and leaders who happened not to agree with his islamization of turkey. they are all languishing now in jail, including the journalists that "dared" to write articles that are critical of him and his islamization of the country. so, what kind of army does this moron have?
26. Islami vs. Islam
USA   (09.02.13)
Muslims have killed millions of other Muslims of different sects in the centuries since Islam was founded. I suggest we force the Arab League and other Muslim nations with clout to solve their own problems. I think we shall be pleased with the results ;)
27. nut job
Mark ,   London, UK   (09.02.13)
There is history. Turkey can invade Syria and reimpose the Ottoman Empire. They were pretty good at conducting their own massacres I recall. It's shameful to think that a country like this is still one of our NATO allies.
28. If Erdogan wants a new government in Syria
spyguy ,   seattle   (09.02.13)
He is welcome to try to make that happen using his own cannon fodder and treasure. BUT ... he should be mindful that just because he changes the government in Syria, he will probably NOT get the future he wishes for. Outside interference in civil wars ALWAYS go bad for the group doing the interference..
29. Let the Turc....
Spengler ,   US   (09.02.13)
The turkish leader of the Muslim Brotherhood should take small gratuity from his Saudi friends and do some of his own heavy lifting....
30. "Let's You and Him Fight"
Neal ,   Minneapolis USA   (09.02.13)
Actually, Turkey has a fairly decent army, if untested except against lightly armed Kurds. It has U.S. equipment, and its air force has U.S. aircraft and training. And, as other have said, it's next door to Syria, far better positioned than the USA to change Syria's regime. And the regional reaction would be far calmer. I'm a U.S. taxpayer who is very weary of funding efforts to change regimes and political systems in the Muslim world. By the way: Hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees need millions of dollars in aid, some of which the heavily indebted United States is supplying. Have the Gulf states suddenly run out of petrodollars? Why aren't they funding all the relief efforts for the Arab "brothers and sisters" for whom they claim such affection?
