1. "and the world continues to talk"
(09.01.13)
Mr. Lieberman, Israel is part of this "talking world". Do something, otherwise I'll call you a hypocrite.
2. there is no such thing as the international community
CJK   (09.01.13)
nor is there such a thing as international law. the world is made up of countries, with their own interests and their own laws. on rare occasions, certain countries band together in support of a shared interest. that shared interest is almost never to protect innocents or to enforce the so-called international laws. what the various countries agree on is the shared interest to harass and endanger the jewish state of israel. this shared interest is a long time habit which was developed in europe and was later picked up by muslims. this habit will never be expunged. it is not based on reason but on sheer primeval hatred. this hatred is fueled by fear and jealousy.
3. 1940s invasion of Palestine brought perpetual war to region
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN   (09.02.13)
4. Lieberman
Joshua ,   USA   (09.01.13)
Kudos! The only leader in Israel who has the dignity and guts to call a spade a spade! I hope that he will be the next Prime Minister.
5. 6 million killed, world has memorial day
(09.02.13)
6. Lieberman, A Very Smart Man
Ross Gallen ,   Henderson, USA   (09.02.13)
Lieberman is pragmatic and has substantial insight into the Syrian problem. He understands the mentality of the Middle East and the dangers facing Israel.
7. How many refugees did Israel take in? None.
Mark ,   Cleveland USA   (09.02.13)
Israelis should stop lecturing the world about morality. The human right record of the modern state of Israel sucks! Anyone who is not Jewish is out of luck. If you happen to be a poor migrant worker from a war torn country in Africa, or if you are escaping poison gas in Syria, keep out of our little oasis. We don't accept Goyim.
8. Lovin me some Lieberman!
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (09.02.13)
Lieberman for PM of Israel. BUILD MORE AND FASTER !!!
9. #3 history
(09.02.13)
The Arab invasion of Israel begun in 1920 with the occupation of Israel by the British. You are right that there was a massive uptick of Arab invaders in the 1940s.
10. Lieberman
vmdeeb ,   Somewhere USA   (09.02.13)
Yes Israel deserve a war monger Lunatic for a leader
11. Syria . .
Jacob ,   NZ   (09.02.13)
Who said that the Holocaust would never happen again . . .and once again the world is silent ! We were lucky this time because its not us . . next time it might well be except next time we won't go quietly without a fight !
12. Rattle the sabre good sir, rattle it good!
Ilan ,   Toronto, Canada   (09.02.13)
Finally someone who speaks a language Muslims understand. lol. although he's kinda being a hypocrite, but i guess that's a behavior he acquired from his neighbors! Rattle the sabre good sir, rattle it good! meanwhile in Gaza... Eygpt razes homes! OH SNAP! lol
13. an improvement
larry ,   LA   (09.02.13)
this is an improvement, 6 million innocent Jews were murdered by the Nazis and the world was silent, Stalin killed more than that of Jews plus his own people and the world was silent. Now the world, what world? Obama? talks.... "I will make the decision," Obama said. What is the decision? to push the buck to congress so he does not have to act. So we have an improvement. I hope they take the 'buck' and ramp it up Obama's .....
14. Lieberman's Another Talker
Naomi ,   Tel Aviv   (09.02.13)
If he and other cabinet members are so shocked, why aren't they going in? (Not that I think they should, but sitting around expecting others to do their dirty work for them isn't very impressive.)
15. USA opportunity to sanitise the Middle E
Norbus ,   Jerusalem   (09.02.13)
Congress to block Obama Brennan Dempsey plan for Syria, because it can at best achieve nothing , planned by confused and conflicted USA leaders. Rehash to a comprehensive regime change. for Iran, Syria and Lebanon then you might have a purpose justifying intervention
16. World should do what? It's Al Qaeda against Hezbollah.
Sam ,   Canada   (09.02.13)
There are no good choices. Al Qaeda and Hezbollah are both civilian killers. We should see how things shake out without Israel or the West getting involved. Let the Arabs work it out. It's probably what Obama wants to do just he painted himself into a corner with his previous statements.
17. #2 So true! Its an empty phrase. he 'world' watches.
Bobk ,   Orlando US   (09.02.13)
It seems to be in no-one's' interest' to attack Syria but it is very dangerous to inadvertently help the Islamist terror groups. We worry for Israel from Syria and hizbollah but Iran is #1 danger. Keep the focus on Iran and hit Syria enough to prevent more gas attacks.
18. Lovin me some Lieberman!
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (09.02.13)
Lieberman for PM of Israel. BUILD MORE AND FASTER !!!
19. 3
(09.02.13)
bs and YOU KNOW IT.
20. lieberman, world talks
emanuel ,   switzerland   (09.02.13)
nr.2: very simply explained but very true! Thanks
21. There is little the world can do
Mark ,   London, UK   (09.02.13)
They have cut off relations with all the belligerent parties. They can only choose between a gangster and jihadists - both unpalatable options. Both sides are more than happy to continue fighting to the last Syrian. The muslim lobby holds a sword of Damocles over the world that any intervention is tantamount to genocide against the muslims.
22. Blame your beloved Russians, Avigdor...
Gunnar ,   Gothenburg, Sweden   (09.02.13)
...and not "the West". Vladimir Putin, more so than anyone else, is to blame for the ongoing Syrian targedy. I still remember the images from 2009, when then FM Lieberman cuddled up with Putin in Moscow. They spoke Russian together and had a jolly good time as the best of friends. And NO, good old Avigdor didn't mention the atrocities in Chechnya then either. Of course not!
23. bravo, bravo, bravo!
tiki ,   belgium   (09.02.13)
The International community should be ashamed of itself for letting this go on while watching & discussing it life on CNN and all the other networks around the world! The west should't dare playing the moralist anymore (especially not to Israel) after the pitiful performance of their leaders! The world has shown their true colors. It's red..... for blood & shame!
24. look at the bright side
rm ,   Amsterdam NL   (09.02.13)
Suppose the international community always reacted swiftly....don't you think they would have intervened in Israel vis a vis the Palestinians a long time ago? Israel is not the country to preach to the choir....and Lieberman is not yet out of his legal limbo so he REALLY should not talk
25. #22 why Putin?
(09.02.13)
Obama destroyed Libya, not Putin. It is Obama's forces who started the Syrian civil war using weapons and intelligence they got from Obama. It is Obama who has consistently made any negotiated settlement impossible and refused to cooperate with Putin in saving lives. It is Obama who wants to start an illegal war, not Putin. You can't change facts: Putin is the responsible adult, Obama is holding the grenade.
26. 25, shilling for KGB Putin
CJK   (09.02.13)
the revolt started like most revolts start, when people who are oppressed decide they had enough. it is assad who has a large military, 400 war planes, over 6,000 tanks, chemical weapons, secret police, military intelligence, shabiha thugs, al quds forces and hezbollah terrorists.
27. #7 we have enough jewish migrants who escape antisemitism
mira ,   israel   (09.02.13)
in europe.
28. 120.000 syrians killed , where is Kathryn Ashton?
Phillip Barnett ,   London , U.K   (09.02.13)
Where are the arab leaders to scream about this injustice , this Assad murderer? Why is the world falling silent , aren't we assisting to a massacre? Where is the U.N? Who would have the courage to lead and remove Assad from power with his thugs? Who will give hope again to the syrian people? Who will stop this holocaust?
29. #28
Beary White ,   Norway   (09.02.13)
...feeding her horse in the stable..
30. Why should the west be involved??
Beary White ,   Norway   (09.02.13)
After all, the islamic countries hates: --the western culture, -the western way of life, -the western politics and -the western religion -their personal freedom, -the freedom of speech/press, -the freedom of women, -the freedom of questioning what else?? Might be PAlin is right, "Let allah solve the problem"...
