1. Of course we have to let Assad do his dirty deeds, while we
tom ,   tel aviv   (09.02.13)
bemoan & whine about his barbarism!
2. People have to vot/debate on,,,,
Madeline, P ,   Denver, Colo.   (09.02.13)
Peoples have to debate/vote on removing a murderous beast of it's own peoples? Hillary Clinton met Bashar Assad many years before this conflict,,,, what ties, bonds, commradery have been establish between those who now are confronted with a situation where they have become complicit to murder and guilty of this Holocaust. All will be judged. This is like asking satan do you want to leave and allowing him to continue his carnage.
3. Israeli interests?
Mark ,   London, UK   (09.02.13)
I would have thought US interests came first, and the interests of the suffering people of Syria come second. Fortunately, the Syrian people can count on the full might of the Arab League and Turkey to help them through this crisis. No wonder they don't need the USA.
4. 2 things here
Israeli 2   (09.02.13)
1) Let's ignore stupid terrorist Abbas from making further terrorist statements. 2) When the US congress makes such a statement, it will only boost and bolden antisemitism. In other words: "Should we attack Syria it would only be because Israel demands it. Not because we want it."
5. Because of the delay...
Raoul ,   Israel   (09.02.13)
Arab propagandists have climbed in. Present score: Syria 1 Obama 0
6. Consider this scenario…
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (09.02.13)
The desperate AlQaeda rebel Saudi mercenaries have been proven to use chemical weapons in a False Flag attack on innocent SUNNI Muslims in Damascus in order to get America to bomb Assad. WHAT IS STOPPING THEM FROM FIRING A CHEMICAL WARHEAD OVER THE BORDER AT US AND THEN TRYING TO BLAME ASSAD SO THAT WE GO TO WAR WITH ASSAD IN ORDER TO HELP THEIR LOSING BATTLE? WE NEED TO BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THOSE MANIACS…. THEY ARE PERFECTLY CAPABLE OF DOING THIS…
7. why dont they stop the fighting, hold elections
we are here to stay   (09.02.13)
and then finally the whole world will see what the Syrian people really want
8. #7:You're joking, right? RIGHT?!! Why spoil the festivities?
tom ,   tel aviv   (09.02.13)
9. Thank you ,but we will handle it
Robert ,   Farmington   (09.02.13)
We will handle it , that is what the Israeli Government needs to tell Obama administration. We will handle Syria if needs be , and we will handle Iran if needs be. we are more then capable of handling any challenge facing the security of the State of Israel and being victorious over our enemies.Thank you , but we don't need your help. May God forever bless the state of Israel.
10. Syria attack an Il intrest
Gabriela ,   A´dam   (09.02.13)
First we had Jews and muslims fighting over their birthrights (to reign), Chr. and Jews, Palestinians and Jews, Now we have the Muslims fighting amongst themself's too. And it is starting to look like bloody WWII. It's an airborne disease. USA is used to being world leader. And they want to reign for ever more. The bottomline is: We are all being sucked into that human made 'blackhole'. But than again: God told us this would happen a long long time ago. God has proven Himself right once more. What threw us out of eden is throwing us straight into hell. This is what we get for not listning to Him. God so tryed to raise all of us.... but we just don't get it.
11. Assad is barbaric
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (09.02.13)
but the rebels are even more barbaric... Rapists of young children, murderers, butchers beheading women and children, war criminals, cannibals, sycophants. Israel better stay clear of the entire mess. The Saudis are driving this agenda. Israel has an interest in weakening Iran and not letting them get nukes, but not this way... this is the way of barbaric Arab bedouins from the Arabian Peninsula, not our way. STEER CLEAR OF THIS CONFLICT.. If Oblala the Obomber decides to go over the head of Congress and face impeachment we should still not overreact if we are attacked by Assad or Hizbollah. NUKES SHOULD NOT BE USED. If they are used then we will witness horrors beyond our imagination. Ezekiel 38-39. Obama will betray us and blame us. The rat bastard is just waiting for the opportunity to lay the blame at our feet.
12. talkkk! you may get the scent sometime
(09.02.13)
13. When in trouble rally fellow Arabs against Israel
Sam ,   Canada   (09.02.13)
Assad is gassing his fellow Arabs but he wants the Arab world to come rescue him from the West. Talk about chutzpah.
14. What Is Syrian Deputy FM Smoking?
ltrail ,   United States   (09.02.13)
Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Muqdad has not completely thought through what he is saying. Syria crossed a red line. The UN factfinders have brought back conclusive and indisputable evidence that Syrian people were killed by their own government using nerve gas. Hair samples and blood samples are indisputable proof.
15. Let those calling for military action do the actions
Jacob E ,   Holon, Israel   (09.02.13)
Turkey, Saudi Arabia, France, Jordan. All these countries are calling for military action against Syria. The US vote should be for giving SUPPORT to the actions of these countries to go after Syria. There shouldn't be any US forces in Syria, not in the air, not in their waters, not on their land. Let the Arab League and all the European countries that want military intervention do something. Syria has always been a threat to Israel, that hasn't changed and it really hasn't even increased since this conflict started. Why give them nothing to lose by attacking?
16. Obama needs to intimidate rather than attack Assad
Zionist forever   (09.02.13)
If Obama can't get a wide ranging international coalition or a UN resolution than 100% of the consequences of his actions will fall on his shoulders. Obama know if something goes wrong and he takes it upon himself to attack its the end of his career so get himself an insurance policy in the form if Congress, pin the blame on them if it goes wrong but if it goes right claim the credit personally. There is nothing to be gained from military action at this time because Ovama has said he does not plan to topple Assad or bomb the chemical weapons sites. Best solution is to intimidate now and get Congress to pass a bill authorizing the use of military action if there are anymore chemical weapons. Have something on paper to wave in front of the world also the USS Nimitz carrier battle group is on its way to the region and there is nothing more intimidating than an aircraft carrier.
17. 3
Zionist forever   (09.02.13)
The Arab League have said on the record they are against any military action ( by anybody ). Erdogan is desperate for a fight, distract attention at home for his own failings but he is only going to make speeches unless the US leads the mission. Even if Obama does take action Erdogan will be disappointed because the aim will be to give Assad a shrt sharp shock rather than bring him down. Erdogan wants a major operation to bring him down no matter what I takes. There really is very little to be achieved through a limited operation so better to do nothing.
18. All Muslim countries vote against Israel in all motions.
BUTSeriously ,   Sydney   (09.02.13)
That is what the Syrian Minister omitted, while disdaining one country backing Israel.
19. When in trouble rally fellow Arabs against Israel
Sam ,   Canada   (09.02.13)
Assad is gassing his fellow Arabs but he wants the Arab world to come rescue him from the West. Talk about chutzpah.
20. Syrian Deputy FM. . .
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (09.02.13)
. . .is quite right. In the long run, any injury to Syria could benefit the Zionist state, and that is unacceptable. As for the United States, there needs to be a curtailment of Jewish/Zionist influence and power. The ways to achieve the latter goal were shown us in the mid-1930s by Ford, Lindbergh, and Disney. Americans need to relearn those lessons.
21. Mark / Dror, Syrian live roleplaying
Gabriela ,   A´dam   (09.02.13)
We got 1 'david'. We got 1 'goliath' the role of God is performed by US A. Meanwhile our A is also performing the role of Salomon, dividing Israel / Jerusalem. (Only proves his blindness and lack of Gods insight, wisdom and justice) The worst of all: The man actualy thinks he is doing the right thing. (USA,USA,USA, there is no other) Mursi made that same mistake when he came into power and Assad thinks of himself as God too. I'm wont heed any of those sheperds. God is my sheperd. No man on earth can ever take His place. Not than, not now, not ever. No need to explane any further why... syrians aren't the only ones going to waste.....
22. Typical Arab drivel..."in Israel's interests."
David ,   Hartford USA   (09.02.13)
Maybe the 'brilliant' Arab Junior Foreign Minister hasn't listened to how Obama has badmouthed Israel for the last 5 years. Maybe he hasn't seen Obama force Israel to release convicted murderers as goodwill gestures to Abbas. Maybe Faisal Fukwad really believes the Muslim propaganda that Jews control the American congress. If so, he's a bigger moron than Assad. (Not hard to believe.) The Congress will say no to intervening in Syria- we simply don't care that dictators and Islamo-fanatics are killing each other and bystanders are paying the price. If the Arab world doesn't give a sh-t about Muslim lives, America certainly won't. Putin is Syria's best friend, let Russia clean up the mess. He won't, of course, because he can't take the chance that Chechnya will re-ignite and cause trouble throughout Russia. Nobody is going to lift a finger. Assad has created a nightmare that only he can resolve- either destroy the al Qaeda backed 'freedom fighters,' or flee the country that his family has so thoroughly raped for the last 40 years. Once again, don't look to the USA to do anything- it's simply none of our business. And if Assad cares to read between the lines of what Obama said, it means this: kill whoever you want with conventional weapons- that's ok with us, just stay away form the gas.
23. Sharon's playbook
Imafreeagent ,   Florida   (09.02.13)
Israel would love to see the Obama attack Syria. It falls right in line with the orders Ariel Sharon handed down as the Iraq war was winding down. See "Israel instructs America to attack Iran and Syria"
24. No way in hell
Imafreeagent ,   Florida   (09.02.13)
Attacking Syria would mean even MORE innocent civilians, men, women and children will be killed. This is the job of the UN and NATO forces. The US should butt out.
25. For once i applaud Mr Obama
Brett L ,   JHB South Africa   (09.02.13)
He isnt just going in without congressional approval. Unfortunately whether he gets the approval or not, it will make no difference to these warmongers, they will still criticise the USA. Like i have said though, 2 years ago the "WEST" was castigated for doing nothing, now when intervention s discussed there is an outcry. I wish people would make up their minds!!
26. Nonsense
Christy ,   Boston, US   (09.02.13)
Congress will act based on what the members perceive the majority of citizens want. In the various discussions taking place regarding Syria, the main point seems to be the US has no business interfering. The US hasn't been attacked - nor have any US Allies.
27. Israel's interests ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.02.13)
To have those islamists on our door ? Israel's interests are a quiet border in the Israeli Golan , something we had for most of the time with the Assads . Are all those who support the "rebels" blind ? Do they think they will be gratefull ? Didn't the West support those who overthrow the Shah in Iran ?
28. Gabriela , 21 . hold your "god" for yourself
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.02.13)
Hou je onbestaande "god" voor je zelf . Hold your inexisting "god" for yourself .
29. Jews don't want peace
Imafreeagent ,   Florida   (09.02.13)
Jesus taught his fellow Jews how to get along with their neighbors. 2,000 years later, there's still no peace.
30. Israel Is Real
Anne ,   NYC   (09.03.13)
"Israeli interests will dictate Congress decision" And they should! Only Israel understands what is good for the region and the US should listen!
