1. Trying very hard to distance himself from this
Ze'ev ,   USA   (09.04.13)
He went to congress to get permission for what he already had permission. According to the War Powers Act, he could authorize military action for 2 months before having to take it to congress. What did congress say? They told him he has 60 days... He keeps saying that it's the world's credibility on the line, congress' credibility, not his... Next he will be telling us it's all Israel's fault.
2. All US is doing is bolstering Al-Qaeda...WHAT is their goal?
Avigdor ,   Tel Aviv   (09.04.13)
VERY TROUBLING indeed.
3. Kerry: I was against war...
Robert ,   New Jersey, USA   (09.04.13)
...before I was hired to be obama's stooge.
4. Obama trying to displace responsibility on congress+UN
Sam ,   Canada   (09.04.13)
Regretting what he said previously Obama is now trying to put responsibility elsewhere. The responsibility lies with the Arab League who also try to deflect responsibility elsewhere. It's their Arab spring (Arab mess). Let them take care of it.
5. He Ain't Gonna Do Zilch
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (09.04.13)
Maybe a missile or two. Nothing serious. Something playful and irrelevant. He will make sure that not one Syrian is killed.
6.  Americas record of foreign disasters
ky   (09.04.13)
America had to be dragged into WW11 screaming and kicking but now they are screaming and kicking trying to drag the rest of the world into WW111. Perhaps it has got something to do with American isolationism and most Americans not even having a passport that they have such blinkered view of the world . Their record of foreign policy failure is legendary. Thanks to them BIn Laden became a hero against Russian communism. They really need to seek some more advice and help before rushing into this.
7. "American" Israeli First Neo-Cons Want This War
World Citizen ,   the world   (09.04.13)
And they supply US politicians with plenty of campaign contributions. And if they get this attack on Syria then they will go back to pressing the useful idiot Obama for an attack on Iran. To understand what is going on look at the policy paper "Clean Break A New Strategy for Securing the Realm". This was a paper given to Bibi the first time (1996) he was prime minister of Israel. It outlines the planning strategy for getting rid of Israel's enemies in the Middle East. Those plans are being carried out at this time only the Americans are paying for it in blood and treasure. Sounds good for Israel on paper but this is going to start the demise of your country. By a far margin the American people do not back this attack. The US military does not back this attack. This is going to blow up in the faces of Netanyahu, the Neo-Cons and especially Obama and his warmonger friends in the Congress.
8. " We Must " ? - Whom Must - ?
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (09.04.13)
In Sweden there is this Word - " We Pears said the Swineshit, and then He sank " !. Arn.Sweden.
9. Putin: "act of aggression"
CJK   (09.04.13)
Putin claims that "anything that is outside the UN Security Council is aggression, except self defense." Putin then accuses the US Congress of "legitimizing aggression." Putin is a funny man. He thinks that he can fool people all the time, very much like Obama. Putin should explain why he has been arming the mass murderer and child torturer Assad with weapons that allow him to continue the carnage. He should explain why for over two years he has blocked action by the UNSC that he all of a sudden reveres. Putin is not quite as smart as he thinks he is.
10. BHO is a total disgrace for thr USA !
writing on the wall   (09.04.13)
This man is a total whimp, a liar and a cheater ( election fraud ) and therefore totally unfit for the job as US - president ! That someone like him could become US president shows that the USA is in very, very bad shape ! Wake up americans, your nation is about to collapse !
11. Obama: "My credibility is not on the line"
JK   (09.04.13)
Obama sounds increasingly foolish and deranged. His attempt to avoid responsibility is his most obvious trade mark.
12. Obama & military action
Leonard ,   Green River, U.S.A.   (09.04.13)
Pending a positive vote by the U.S. congress, if Assad & Putin see a united, United States vote for a military strike against the Syrian army, they will know they are in real trouble. Putin will back down, and I would not be surprised if Assad executes some fall guy for using chemical weapons w/o authorization, and against orders. As for the Syrian army no matter how hard they try to hide their assets, there are lot of assets that cannot be moved or hidden. We can expect many more defections from Assad's army & political allies.
13. Let 'The World' Respond
Christy ,   Boston, US   (09.04.13)
Let 'the world' respond since 'the world' is so upset about it. Just as long as the US stays out of this mess. Most recent poll shows over 80+% of US is against any military action in Syria. The US' traditional allies are against any action. There is no reason for the US to take any military action. Let the UN or the Arab League deal with Syria. Let's stay out of it. Nothing to gain here.
14. #13 You clowns re-elected Obama, deal with all that entails
(09.04.13)
15.  russia
spookey ,   birmingham uk   (09.04.13)
putin could not careless , how many die in Syria as long as Russian interests are left in tack look at Russia and its attitude to human life stalin murdered 30 million of his own people so a few hundred gassed is nothing to russia
16. It's not US credibility that's on the line
A ,   Belgium   (09.04.13)
it's their president. He destroyed his credibility with Israel when he left his microphone on when gossiping like an elderly fishwife with Sarkozy about Bibi (like him or not, he IS the Prime Minister of Israel, an ally...and one of the few remaining..of the US), he supported dumping Mubarak in favor of Morsi, who he in turn supported dumping in favor of Sisi, he ignored warnings by Israel that Syria was moving weapons, but when Israel (supposedly) destroyed these weapons, he could only repeat the American mantra of...restraint. And now his infamous "red line", crossed time and time again. And the best he could do was dump the decision on Congress. I remember a president (Nixon) who faced impeachment, but took the cowards way out and resigned. I remember another president faced with impeachment (Clinton), and he lied to the Supreme Court. If/ when Oblabla is faced with impeachment, I wonder what his story will be...I did it for our allies, especially Israel?
17. #10 You think Oblabla's bad, don't forget who was
A ,   Belgium   (09.04.13)
before him..."that man trahd ta keel ma deddy". Or, "Mission accempleshed!" What more needs to be said about American politicians?
18. too big to fail, eh...
