I was so moved by my first visit to Oradour sur Glane that I was inspired to write a fictionalised account of the story of the massacre. “One Day In Oradour” was published this May by A&C Black/Bloomsbury. It focuses on the story of Roger Godfrin - the only schoolchild to escape from the village that day. He was only 7 at the time and lost of all his family in the massacre.
